Another thing to consider is that air is getting into the filter. Use Vaseline or water sealant on every seal where air can enter. I once had that problem. Once I sealed it with water sealant the bubbles and the noise stopped.

I've got a internal fluval u3 and am amazed at how much air is trapped inside even after 24hours and filter submerged ?

I am new to salt water, and mine looks like a foog machine! I really dont know much about filters and minis in the back wall of the tank. Not even sure i have this set up correctly. ...looking for help. Should i change filter system?

I've never got mine to stop sucking air. I only use it for a few min, here and there, because it's so loud and annoying. Hope for a fix at some point. I'm in a Turtle Tank, and I feel like the pickup hose is never sealed properly

but what to do if i have my fuval fx2 external filter is making sloshing sound,It runs fine and there's no microbubbles, but every hour or two i have trapped air inside the canister,it seems that the trapped air might be a result of cavitation.
My inlet hose is shorter, thats what fluval said to do,i checked place where the intake connected with the hose,it is under the water so it doesn't sucking air,it has to be under the water line and it is.
i checked filter media, even try to remove half of it so i have normal flow, that also did't helped,in hour or two it sound like dishwasher, sloshing sound in the filter.
I lubed o rings with fluval silicone lubricant, nothing.
i even made sure the connections are the below water line, same thing
I checked connection between hoses and filter..
I checked the lid seal...and lubricate
i even tried prime the filter when output hoses were above the water line.
tried remove and rinsed out sponges, maybe they have trapped air..nothing,same thing,
didn’t seem to make a difference.
There's no kinks in hose, they are short cut to the minimum length, checked are they ok,does inlet hose has something so it can suck air..no.
I tried to refill with water to the top, then turn on the IN valve first, then waited a few seconds and turn on the other.
Shook the canister and it burpped air,but in the hour time somehow i have air inside .
the problem is cavitation, something is defective with this filter?
so..what ever i do in some short time it will somehow make air inside, the only thing what can make air inside the filter is cavitation impeller.
Checked impeller,it looks like new to me,no cracking, can't see anything

Hi mate I have the same problem with my eheim experience 350 in a planted tank. I tried almost the same things as you do but couldn't stop the air. Looking for solution .
