I matched mine to a Jackson Super Trickster, looks really nice. I just don't care much for the clicking drag noise. I've been throwing spinnerbaits with it mainly for the most part.

Any plans for Lew's BB1, Tourney Pro, or even Speedspool LFS? Definitely want to see how Lew's offerings compare to the Shimano bombers. Definitely like to see how the LFS compares to the similarly priced Casitas/caenan.

It looks like the bearings in the Abu Aurora are different and have exposed balls. They look like a upgraded type bearing?
Yeah man, i went over it in the video lol. Open faced, and more than likely higher spec SS bearings.
oh sorry man, i had the volume low..haha. I will rewatch it. I am wondering if the new Curado K would have beat it at the quarter weight also? Seems to be on par with a Casitas MGL far as distance.
possibly, bigger spool and centrifugal brakes. I dont think the aurora was meant for long casting, but for finesse..
Do you save money ordering from Japan ? That Elite Aurora is Gorgeous , no doubt....
generally yes you save money but you dont get warrany support if you had an issue.
Oh my God!! I can't believe it!! This is the reel I have been wanting to get literally for years. The only reason why I still haven't bought it is the BFS shallow spool. BFS is just so far away from my style. Also, the handle is wayyyyy too short which can be fixed. However, I just have no idea where I can get a normal large capacity spool for this reel. If you have any info, please let me know. Cheers!
Yeah its a vary finesse oriented reel.. ZPI would be your best bet I think.
Thanks, man! They seem to have a HD spool that can house 70m of 20 lbs mono, that should be plenty for me. I normally use 30 lbs braid which has a diameter of 8 lbs mono. But, it is quite a lot once I add the cost of the spool to a 95mm or 100mm handle plus the original high price tag of the reel. Wowww. LOL.
This isn't actually a bait finesse reel, bait finesse is even shallower. We'd call this a shallow spool though. You can fit about 80 meters of 12lb fluoro on this. But we would throw 6-8 lb fluoro on a reel like this. If you want a medium to deep spool you could look for other reels from the Japanese Pure fishing website PUREFISHING.jp

The wind noises are utterly annoying and make the whole video pretty unpleasant to watch.. maybe remove the background/wind noise on the "walking parts" completely and add some quietly music? Still a great video and thumbs up for the good content. Been a silent subscriber for some time so no hate here.. but i think you can improve your quality still a bit. Especially on the takes outside. I have never liked that design of any of the Abu Garcia baitcasters, the high end ones 'body's just look cheap, I know they perform well, but you gotta like what you use

THE REEL TEST idk, it's too flashy. Shimano is more conservative and original with their design with a clean modern and that's what I like about Shimano, but this thing just looks like a freaking alien or something lol, but hey if that's what you like cool.

Most Abu reels are very common looking...its not like every Revo looks like this one.
I’m not gonna lie, I bought this reel just for the looks, and that it’s collectible. I’m not a fan of abu at all, I normally go for jdm Daiwa and shimano’s, especially limited edition reels. From the hype on this reel I was expecting a lot more even for abu Garcia... and I was extremely unimpressed. First of all, there’s like an oily residue on the reel, the cast control knob and some of the plastic parts on the reel feel extremely cheap, and the aurora finish has some blemishes bear areas where it transitions to other pieces. I can look past this.. but, it is very unimpressive to fish also, tuning it in to cast even 3/8 lures that are not aerodynamic in slightly windy conditions is a headache, and what in the world is up with the clicking drag... that drives me insane. Looks like it’ll be sitting on a shelf with all of my td-ito line reels high enough where no one can get a close look lol
Now that you’ve had the reel longer, I’d like to hear any new thoughts you have on it. Also, great review as always lol
