I've done some races (for me just more like runs where the trails are unusually busy as I'm far from competitive) with Envirosports in the Marin headlands and many times up from Stinson beach. All ½s I think, been a while...
good stuff - great way to be out/safe/have fun - did a similar trail 1/2 marathon in the Santa Cruz mountains above Palo Alto - lots of fun & steep trails in da Bay Area - BTW meet you at little Yosemite late last year - and yeah +1 on rejecting pole straps for running/fast hiking
Dude the was awesome. You’ve got excellent stamina. Where do I parked my car to do that hike. l will coming fromVallejo? Thanks. Also really appreciated your reviews and hikes in the Sierras,.🤙👍🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks Jeffrey. Unfortunately you can't right now per the shelter in place rules and GG Recreation Area (www.nps.gov/goga/index.htm). But later when this lockdown is lifted, you can park just north of the GG Bridge.
Yep, planning on going when it does open. Thanks for that website, now I’ll use it for information It will surely help. Have a wonderful and safe journey always.
John Schmitt You might sacrifice some walking comfort for running comfort. UD Fastpacks don’t have much shoulder strap padding. They can be heavier than frameless UL packs with less volume. They could also carry a little higher on the chest (vest style vs shoulder straps that go down to waist). Nothing that’s a deal breaker but there are differences because the two styles of packs were designed for different purposes/audiences.
Parking lots are closed, but foot traffic is still allowed as long as social distancing rules are followed (hence why I had to bike to the trailhead). But this is always subject to change so I'd recommend folks check first: www.nps.gov/goga/index.htm
Sweet video, thanks for sharing. Fantastic video quality.
What a scenic workout. Love that route. I’ll have to check it out sometime, especially since I’m in the bay now.

What are you thoughts on the UD Fastpacks for a Thur-Hike? Would they even have any disadvantage to regular UL backpacks?

Really enjoyed watching this video. It's a great idea combining biking and running. Great choice of the place too.
Thanks Yongsung!
Thanks Jimmy! From Sacramento.
I thought everything was closed in Marin headland area. Great view on top. Can't wait to go backpacking.

@@HikingNerd thank you :)
Can't go out to exercise here. Am looking for a daypack and running pack. Something in 15-20 liter size. Any suggestions.
Was that run 10 miles out and 10 miles back?
Not this time, maybe next weekend! Total was 20 miles by bike and 13 miles by foot.
I absolutely love this video... Can we see more of this in the future?!?!
Never Ending Adventures Yes!
