Most of y'all haven't worn this shoe , traction is not great but it varies from person to person .

My favorite harden is the harden 1. The traction is soo good even though it looks like it would be bad
If the traction is too strong you will probably break your ankles

To recap:
Traction - ass
Cushion - Chuck Taylors are better
Fit - a pair of bedroom slippers has more heel lockdown
Materials - shit mesh would be improvement
Weight - a pair of work boots is lighter
Besides that...it’s ehhhhhh

That's a lie . Stop lying . The shoe is much better than this d***ass portrayed . The shoe is comfortable , the traction isnt great but everything else is great . Best looking harden , Its is a lifestyle and performance basketball sneakers .

Traction is fairly decent on indoor , mind you harden is a heavier guard , weight depends a lot when it comes to traction
The Harden vol 3s are still one of the best shoes of recent time, amazing traction, amazing cushion, great fit

I think Adidas really try to tell us "this is what harden actually wear, you want that right?" and yea we don't need all of that, like some dude in the instagram complaining not having shank plate on a shoes, cmon we aren't as big as NBA players.
We do need shank plate if not any plantar supprt in the shoe, but i do agrre with you that harden vol 5 is overdoing it
appears to be the first miss in the harden line...that stinks, adidas was on a role with his shoes

I was really digging the design and tech on these. I was hyped about it having a drop in midsole. I thought it was going to be a Kobe tier shoe giving the fact that it has boost with LIGHTSTRIKE. I prefer Lightstrike over any other cushion set ups that Adidas offers. I hope Adidas is listening to these performance reviews. I really really like how the shoe looks IMO. Heartbroken about the performance review on these. 😢

@@Bertellii to be honest. I got size 12. And I'm a heavyweight at 97 kilos. It's comfortable, it's heavy. But I don't feel like I got weights on my feet. I'm excited for it's performance indoors. Be playing after 6 hours.
Here in the Philippines we don't really care about the details of the kicks as long as we have something to put on and we even play barefoot

i like the 3 and 4's . The 3 is boost cushioning and good courtfeel while the 4's are the new lightstrike tech for me is PERFECT
I tried these the other day. Lateral containment is crazy like he said. You will never roll your ankles in these shoes. So If you have ankle problems and don't care much about the other metrics then these are the shoes for you.
Thanks for the review Sammy! Makes me want to keep and keep on playing in my Harden Stepback 1. It bite hard to almost every type of court, and it definitely cheaper

i wonder if Adidas is actually paying attention to these reviews? I hope they are.. That was arguably the most brutal review i've seen of this model..
Playing in them, they are fantastic. Mostly everything bad they are saying is not true. I dont think they have good traction for indoors. I play outdoors. Apart from probably the traction if you are playing indoors, the shoe, I feel, is one of the best. Havent tried one that feels better. I tried it in a store and l loved it. Then went to check the reviews and they all said its crap. So I went back to a couple stores and tried them on a few times again (different days). They still felt better than the Kobe 6, zoom rise, the other zoom shoe similar to the zoom rise, cosmic unity, KD 13, and many others I tried. So I bit the bullet and bought it. So far, the shoes are perfect. Even felt things I never imagined like for example its so stable it feels prevents me from having a bad form when shooting off the dribble. Feels like its forcing you to go up correct every time. And there are others things i never imagined.
Definitely stiff and traction is ehh but I definitely enjoyed this shoe. Not nearly as bad as others say.
I just realized harden himself play this shoe like for 3 games for just a pair, he's not changing his shoe every game
I love this shoe as a lifestyle shoe. Looks great on feet especially with joggers. But def not as bad as people say. Seriously. It's a very popular shoe to hate especially amongst youtubers. Jalen Green rocked several Harden 5s as well as other players too. Maybe their pairs are different? Idk. Def has problems but it's not nearly as bad. So try it for yourself. I'd say it's def better than the Lebron 19s which yes isn't saying much.
Also I know some of the higher paid NBA players have someone wear there shoes for a day to break them in. Some even have a special 3D shoe tree mold of they’re foot that uses heat and can bend and flex they’re shoes overnight to break them in. I’m guessing Harden definitely uses 1 of those because there’s no way he could play in a brand new pair every night, those are way too rigid.

Just copped 2 pairs at Ross for $25 each just because they can be outdoor beaters. Gonna put some HeffeLux insoles in and hope that helps.
Edit: just finished an hour and a half shoot around in them...and they're good, at least for me. I felt the cushioning, and they were a good fit overall. The only thing that I could see as a problem was the traction.
This just goes to show that y'all can't really rely on the reviews, no matter how many of them say the shoe is bad. These were good for me, and they were mad comfy too.
Alright so, I’ve playing indoor in these - i disagree with most peoples opinion on traction. I had GREAT traction? It slipped maybe ONCE from dust. Dirty courts. Break in? Maybe.

@@saqibchauhan2261 probably not 10x times better but we as a consumer don't need that much stuff that those nba players need. The retail version and the version kawhi is wearing is identical, but the shoe isn't the greatest of all time
I have a theory that this shoes need a lot of breaking time and I think that was the design goal or maybe I'm a die hard harden fan who buys all the line and saying this to myself to justify burning my money on this shits 😂

I was really digging the aesthetics at first, but the performance reviews are just so discouraging. I hope they make a primeknit + mesh upper version of this and just shed off those stiff plasticky material wrapped around the midsole to upper transition. I'd be willing to pay 30 more bucks for that.
Try them for yourself. Def has issues but the shoes aren't nearly as bad as reviewrs are saying. Seems like average hoopers like it but youtubers don't like it. Makes you think. Def a popular shoe to hate. But try them for yourself.
Just got them for 45€ and even though the performance isn’t great, it still is a steal
I think there might be a quality issue with these shoes. I went down a full size and the shoes are fine. Still heel slippage but not as bad as the other size I had. Eventually I didn't have any heel slippage so i expect the same for my smaller size too.
Harden seems to be feeling great with his shoe...doing triple doubles lol

same but i got the red with flowers and shit look up a pic its red black and sliver and then i wear a HARDEN brooklen grey jersey to bring out the grey on the shoes

Bought these and swapped them out for the puma dreamers. Way better. Then complained to Adidas and they sent me a 30% off coupon. Bought the lime green color way harden step back. That shoe is amazing. It’s crazy that the cheaper line performs better than the signature. And it looks the same lol. The traction is really good and it’s true to size
this is one of my faforite shoe range but in this level i think i will wait for another adidas release. besides that good chanel, good work it realy cool.

It is recommended for you to run on your forefoot so that’s probably why they cage the heel

aye i own these and i can say it isn’t too bad. i hate that it’s super heavy but breaking it in i felt like i was just used to it. definitely better options for shoes but this one isn’t a total miss

That outsole traction pattern remind of the yeezys tbh. It's a style choice for the mask market, not a performance choice. Harden's plyer model has herringbone.

The problem is I can’t find a dame 7 in my area
Problem with Dame 7 for me is very small toebox but I've got generally huge front foot it seems as it is recurring problem in multiple shoes for me. Still dame 7s have toebox significantly smaller then average shoe.

Just got these at the adidas store ds for 65 bucks (just for aesthetics tho). They had the DON Issue 2 for 55 ds and I grabbed those to ball.

Adidas use Harden line for their Futurenatural experiment and this crap is what they delivers. Lillard wearing Dame 5 more than 7 lately, most of Adidas signed players choose to wear their older model and now this rocky Harden 5. Adidas better do well for Trae issue 1.

Kinda has an Adidas Stabil next gen silhouette. Not exactly the same but similar design language
