@@vanillakitten1210 I mean, his speaking engagements definitely got weird and cringy at times, but his book is legitimately really good and has helped a lot of people, including myself! I see where you are coming from, but if you actually read it there is a lot of well-researched and solid advice!
Didn't expect to find myself here at 1am, but to be honest, I'm glad I did. I've been watching you for about a year and a little now, probably since the start of those sleep deprived podcasts, and I've just loved your content. You're one of my favorite UA-camrs, if not my absolute favorite. The videos on the main channel are great - every video is funny as hell - but I really like the videos on this channel too. I guess I like the channel because I feel like I can relate to you in some ways, but it's really cool being able to see this side of you. You're close enough to my age and mature enough for me to have this incredible kind of respect for you, one where I genuinely feel like I could look up to you. I don't know where this comment is going anymore honestly, but I guess I'm just trying to let you know that you're a seriously cool guy. And that there's more to the numbers. I've not been a very vocal viewer, but I've been there, loving everything that you do. I know that there's plenty more people out there, just like me, lurking in the background and just being there all the way through. I wish I could support you in more ways than just words, but I don't have too many options. Anyway, it is late, I suppose, and this comment is becoming far longer than I expected it to be, so I'll wrap it up. Hope you have a lovely day, or night, schlatt, and I hope that you keep on doing the things that you love.
About the posture advice, I absolutely have to agree. Everytime, every single time I sit up straight I actually feel energized and powerful (I guess confident would be a better word lol). When I walk standing upright, I feel like an actual man with a presence instead of a scared 18 year old kid. Posture is real and it helps an unbelievable amount.
I don't know if anyone's gonna see this but what the hell hahaha I'm introverted as fuck, but at some point I convinced myself that a weird interaction with someone is better than no interaction at all. And after some time you realise that a lot of people are faking their confidence just like you are. Start off with simplest thing: greet someone with a nod or smile. Say hi. Actually listen to what the person has to say, but don't just be a listener; engage in the convo! Speak your opinion but be open-minded and listen to the other side as well. Trust me, you think you're much more lame than you really are. And for the guys having troubles talking to girls: most of the girls are just as insecure as you are; they just know how to pull off an eyeliner. Talk to her as you would talk to a friend! And if you like her, make it clear that she knows. Try to talk to her outside of the group, compliment her and really pay attention to what her friends do when she says hi to you. Chances are, her friends already know if she has a crush on you and will be more open about it than she is. So, fuck it! You're young! There a shit ton of years ahead of you and you have to start practicing socialising at some point (if you start now it's gonna be easier when you're older). "If we want the rewards of being loved we have to submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known."
Yhhh found this out too . I was so introverted all the time but now I tend to be the most talketive guy in the room and it's just about confidence and realising no one is actually thinking you're wierd or annoying or anything like that
Introverted doesn’t mean you can’t talk to people, that’s a common misconception. Introverted people actually really enjoy hanging out/talking to people, but after they do they are EXHAUSTED. Just wanted to say this because if you have difficulties talking to people, it doesn’t mean you introverted, you could be, but it unrelated.
