Great content! I’m just getting into this sort of adventure scene because there is more to life then wasting it away drinking! I have been thinking of doing the multi day hike sometime this year. This was a good insight into what I’ll be up against. Keep up the good work!
Nicely done with the video. I live in hervey bay and wondering how would you rate the trail. I am in the prossces of putting my camping gear together, so that i can do this hike and others aound. Gerard.
Thanks for the content mate. Looks like a really nice hike. As a local its great to see someone documenting all the amazing places we have in the region
Loved the video mate. Wow those drone shots really add to the cinematography of the video. This one is on my list to walk so I will definitely have a read of your tips on the campsites etc.
Amazing video! Would love to do this hike soon! Quick question, how did you keep your electronics charged? Also is there any beaches or lakes you can swim in? Cheers! 😊
Great video and thanks for adding the info, all things that I would want to know about the camps sites. Think this will be my first multi day hike in 2021, looks great and thank you for sharing.
Hey man, loved the videos. Just curious to know what you did about getting from the end to the start? assuming you drove to the start point and left your car...haha. I'm keen to do it shortly, just weighing up the best options for transport. Cheers!
Well done mate. Loved watching your vlog. Been talking about this hike for a few months now. It's so good to be able to read your tips and watching you do it, that will help with my prep immensely. Cheers bud. Keep up the good work.
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing. We vlogged the sunny coast hinterland great walk a couple months ago, and plan on doing this one soon. Also how good is the relief when you reach the campsites haha (:
Haha no better feeling after a huge day, walking into camp and dropping the pack! 😅 Thanks for watching! I’m going to head over and have a look at your sunny coast walk! Definitely on the list! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for the great videos. How did you keep the batteries charged up for your electronics? And dare I ask about change of clothes and personal hygiene?
Haha thanks mate! Plenty more to come! I have a powerbank that I charge up and take with me which charges my electronic on the trails. It’s a brand called ANKOR. There a life saver! The personal hygiene regime was limited to say the least. Let’s just say the shower at the end was well needed! 🥴 you giving the Cooloola a go??
@@deangibbs6948 That's the plan :) Whilst I've been camping loads of times in the car, havent really done anything like this before so trying to do lots of research to work out what's involved, what I need etc. Yiour videos have helped a great deal and further inspired me.
janice freo thanks for watching! 🤙🏼 the physical preparation was almost none existent haha. If you have a good base fitness you’ll be ok! And for navigation I used an App called ALLTRAILS. The trail is extremely well marked so you won’t get lost, but the app gives you great stats throughout the walk so you can see how far to camp, your elevation gained for the day etc and can be used in Offline mode on your phone. It’s a must 👌🏼
Hey Dean, did u find out what happened on the first day with the kms being out? Also, would u mind sharing where you actually started from? On all trails as I can ppl starting at different point?!
G'day. I am planning to do this one later next year form the south end going north.Wear ther any cold nights that made you put on extra layers when sleeping ?. Because you did not say much about nighttime tempetures. Gerard.
Leigh Reeve I was very lucky my girlfriend offered to take the long drive and pick me up! Was a lot more comfortable than the bus 🚌 the ranger mentioned to me that there is a regular shuttle service you can book on the day of your hike at the rangers station at North Shore 🤙🏼
Will Shirley mate it was a ripper! Was nice and snug, but plenty of room for my pack outside under the outer shell which I was rapt with! Especially when it rained! Perfect entry level tent! Nice and cheap too 🤙🏼 you have one?
@@deangibbs6948 Sweeeeeeeet! Nah I'm looking to do the Cooloola Great Walk in the next month before it gets too hot. In the market for a good quality tent. Think that one might be a winner. Thanks again!
this is definitely on my bucket list for this year....I am a newbie camper and hiker...did you do much prep for this hike in a physical sense? Great video by the way...thanks :)
Thanks for the feedback!! 👍🏽 I’m usually keep quite fit which helped, just keep you pack light and you’ll crush it! Good luck when you give it a crack!
Juliet Rose thanks you!! At the moment I just have a LUMIX G7 Camera with a wide angle lens, and a DJI Mavic Pro... I’m still only using iMovie but am looking to move up to Premier soon I think! Thanks so much for watching!
Nicole Firman thanks for the feedback! 🤙🏼 My pack weight was around 14kgs. I took just enough food, very light on all my other gear and only 2L of water every day. But my camera gear weighs a bit 🤪 with the camera gear and electronics it would have been around the 10kg mark I think.
Excellent video series! Subscribed. Love the pack, wife and I use HMG Summit packs for our long-distance hikes. After seeing your video we would love to visit Australia one of these years to do some hiking! Look forward to more videos like this. Question for you: How did you get back to your car from Rainbow Beach? Google Maps doesn't show any public transportation.
Glen Jackson thanks so much for the comment! 🙌🏼 I’m so happy with the HMG Pack too! So getting back from rainbow beach I was very lucky my girlfriend was able to pick me up and drive me back to my car that I had left at the rangers station in Noosa. There is usually a shuttle service that can be booked online, but due to COVID the shuttles were not running. Where are you from? 🗺
@@deangibbs6948 thanks for the info on the shuttles, great to know they should be running when this pandemic is over, and we won't be traveling much before then. I'm from Maine, same state your pack is from, but our long-distance hikes have been in Virginia, Scotland & Ireland. Really itching to do some more international hikes, and thanks to videos like yours I get to make a long list of future visits!
LOVED THIS 😊
