- I ended up saving the best Montana hike of this trip for last! Located in Big Sky Montana is the beautiful Ousel Falls Trail. This hike and waterfall are absolutely stunning! It is an easy trail at 1.6 miles rt and only 252 ft of elevation. The hike goes along the scenic Gallatin River and leads to this amazingly breathtaking waterfall!

Love that area in Montana! Was invited to speak at a Christian camp in Gallatin NF back in 2019. Incredible waterfall!

Yeah it was definitely my favorite hike of the trip! The waterfall was definitely amazing! Unfortunately I was unable to to do another short hike because it was an hour away and the sun was going to go down and it would have been close especially in bear 🐻 County. Thanks for watching brother.

We wanted to do this hike after our Yellowstone trip last year. Unfortunately, closed roads in YNP made us change our plans and we skipped it. It looks awesome! Definitely a great waterfall easy to access. Thank you showing us what we missed, Eric!
Oh wow that's definitely a shame that you guys were unable to see this because of things beyond your control. This was actually my favorite stop on the trip. We just got back home yesterday from a trip to Big Sky and couldn't recommend this trail more. Family friendly even for the youngsters and it's only a few minutes from Big Sky Resort. Now is the time to do it too. The falls were flowing far more than the one in this video, but not too much that you couldn't go all the way to the bottom. And there's absolutely zero smoke in Big Sky/Yellowstone NW right now, 7/13/22.
That's awesome that you went and the waterfall was flowing crazy good. We've been pretty fortunate so far this year that it hasn't been a crazy fire season like the past 2 summers have been but I know it's stil tool early to call it. Yeah this trails absolutely family friendly and it's probably the best Maintained trail I've ever seen! Thanks for the comments and let me know how things are looking up there now!

Do you think this hike is ok for 6-9 year olds? One of them did great on a booth falls hike but the other 4 haven’t done any big hikes?
This Trail is probably one of the most manicured and well-maintained trails I've ever hiked on. Yes they can totally do this one at that age.
