A module is also very appropriate for this class. I really think it would have been interesting if Dominion vessels focused on carrying and supporting the smaller attack ships/beetle ships/ annoying little f*ckers, with more standoff weaponry than conventional battle tactics. I know the smaller ships are warp-capable, but having what is effectively a mobile hub for repair, resupply, and probably even production of new clones to crew them would make Dominion tactics a bit more interesting, especially if it could harvest materials and process them to build even more attack ships. Not everyone off the top of their head can, at least not without some effort of memorizing, really tell the difference between the two, unless they were side by side or had other ships that were familiar for size comparison. For all intensive purposes, the two look the same in colour and esthetics and are the least seen ships in DS9 when it comes to super powers. Obviously one ship dwarfs the other, but they have to be side by side. You just have an eye to catch it. Maybe by the end of this video everyone who is watching will remember the two distinctly better.
For me, the forward swept wings appear to 'concentrate' fire forward, so that hull will tend to go after single targets. The Battleship with the backswept wings is an 'area support' type vessel, as it has far more angles forward and to the sides where hull-mounted weapons can be fired into. So the Battlecruiser will go after single targets, while the Battleship will lend its firepower into whichever arc would be appropriate. The Battleship will be a fleet command type of vessel, while the Battlecruiser will go after the most dangerous target in an enemy formation, as its forward-swept nacelles would block the side lines of fire from the main hull weapons
It's been a while but I do remember seeing one really big dominion ship at the end of their fleet in the sacrifice of angels batlle. The defiant had to fly past it before it blew up. That may be the ship lore's talking about.

Confusion was probably the result of the term Dominion battle cruiser was never used on screen. It was referred to as a Jem Hadar Battleship on screen. Later in Valiant what we know as the Dominion Battleship was introduced as "a new Dominion Battleship". As a kid I thought the Dominion battle cruiser was a Jem-Hadar Battleship and the Dominion Battleship was a Dominion Super Battleship.
Hi Venom, I think this is a rare case where I have to disagree with you. I think this is a Fast Battleship, a dead-ringer for the Dunkerque Class. I don't think battlecruiser is a terribly accurate classification, given its armament and pretty good shields and armor being far superior to that of a cruiser. I concede the armament is slightly lighter than comparable enemy ships like the Nehgvar or Sovereign. As such, I'd call it, in WWII naval parlance, particularly in comparison to the larger Jem Hadar Dreadnaught (not the literal term, or more properly a heavy battleship), the classic late 1930s Fast Battleship. It carries the heavy armament of a battleship, though on the lower end, but sacrifices a very modest amount of armor, while still falling within the parameters of battleship armor, for speed and agility. I compare this vessel to the Scharnhorst Class, but the projected refit with 15 inch guns, or the French Dunkirk Class, or even the refit Kongo. In comparison, the Jem Hadar Dreadnaught is very much like the A-150 Super Yamato Class. One is even tempted to call it a Large Cruiser, with its almost intermediate armament and heavier than cruiser, but lighter than battleship armor. A lighter suite of heavy weapons is the classic hallmark of the Large Cruiser, i.e. the 11-inch guns of the Deutschland Class, or 12-inch guns of the Alaska Class but heavier than cruiser armor like the Alaska Class. If I had to compare this ship to any single class of vessel, I think I would choose the Dunkerque Class, which so straddled the line of Large Cruiser, Battlecruiser and Fast Battleship, that it could be called all three. The Jem Hadar ship's armament was clearly superior to a cruisers, but just shy of the heavier ships. So were its defenses, far superior to the cruiser, but on the lighter side of the capital ships while having the speed and agility of a light cruiser. Yes, this is the Dominion's Dunkerque Class: A lighter battleship superior in speed and agility, with guns to take on heavier ships, but slightly inferior. What edge the Jem Hadar ship lacks, it makes up in numbers. Three Dunkerques would easily destroy a Bismarck Class battleship.
It's not so much that they like straight shapes as it is that curves additional vertices and additional triangles and those additional triangles or polygons as we call them add up. The more polygons a model has and the higher-resolution it's textures the harder and more time-consuming and therefore more expensive it's going to be to render. It also takes longer to build curved shapes and have them look proper.
Actually I believe that the Dominion Battleship and Battle Cruiser should be easy to tell the difference when the Battleship clearly show a much larger hall and ship of her size 🤔

I didn't know the Dominion subscribed to the Tarkin doctrine. 😂
The Alpha Quadrant is lucky that the dominion doesn't have kuat drive yards as their ship builders
Which is probably why the V type was the first in CGI
Cheers
Actually I believe that the Dominion Battleship and Battle Cruiser should be easy to tell the difference when the Battleship clearly show a much larger hall and ship of her size 🤔
You'd think but obviously not.
Lore reloaded makes a mistake....shocking.....(silent laughing)
I tell them apart by the fact that the cruiser has this things on the top that look like Cardassian phazers and the battleship does not. Oh and good luck ever pinning down how big the battleship is.
1500m that's my final answer.
@@venomgeekmedia9886 i think they answered in the show: 2 times the size of a galaxy. I put the shots in the final episodes under "needs to look menacing, blow up to 15 kilometer size", executor this shit.
Steam-Runner please!
Would be good timing with that sexy new Steam Runner variant in STO
@@rueceless7580 My thoughts exactly!
Galaxy class a battle ship? Since when? Sure it can be retrofitted into one but its not a battleship.
At least in my eyes
ST:TNG S5E14 "Conundrum", the crew had suffered amnesia and when they called up the data on the Ent-D their first reaction was that the Ent-D was a Battleship
Bruh there’s a vanu magrider 9:14
Honestly the dominion should give their ships class names.
I kinda like that they don't. Why would they?
@@venomgeekmedia9886 well for one lore Reloaded wouldn't call it a battleship. 😅
So it's the trek andromeda ascended
It also kinda looks like it too.
@@venomgeekmedia9886 that's what I thought when first seen them. Both roddenberry shows maybe they reused props etc.. on that maybe do us an andromeda shipchat eh lol
Sorry the prettiest rose of starships is the Sovereign class!
Agreed but its a pretty close match.
chipshat
Lore reloaded makes a lot of mistakes!
He also thinks New Trek is Star Trek. ^^
And I never have... :l
I agree. I tend to cringe when I watch his videos.
@@timb4098 I mean.. you don’t have to :p
watch the ds9 episode valiant.
Do you feel this class
Is ship is so overpowered? It took out a Defiant with no effort when that class was designed to take on the Borg? Thoughts?
That was the battleship not the battlecruiser.
@@matthewbardos4424 of course thank you. I think Orangeriver made that clear but I obviously wasn’t listening well lol
@@jeffhallam2004 haha, no problem. It's pretty easy to get things wrong in a fictional universe that constantly contradicts itself lol.
Here's the difference between a battle cruiser and a battleship battleships in battle cruisers is tonnage okay the Missouri Iowa and the Iowa classes we all agree are battleships okay the prince lingo is a battle cruiser the USS or the MHS Hood was a battle cruiser that faced off against the Bismarck
Yeah I'd agree with that battlecruisers are the same size but lighter than battleships
All of these pictures you show are not. I repeat are not the battle cruiser.
Yes they are you do not want to go to rura penthe
not a fan of lore reloaded but love this ship. Idk how he cant tell the difference from the battleship and this ship. also he mispronounces Cerritos annoyingly
:(
Ah one of my favorite ships. Big,mean and powerful. A real terror. Hahahahah ahhh old lore reloaded......a little to fond of disco trek and picard and lower deck for me anymore. Had to unsubscribe a few months ago. But he's a good guy.
yeah i like him. he's great to chat with, but he's made enemies on both sideslol
@@venomgeekmedia9886 oh yeah swell guy and i understand why he has a proish(?) View on the new trek. Part for his algorithms so he doesn't get in trouble with UA-cam bots, another so cbs doesn't get mad at him because hey of CBS can good money after bad on disco trek they can cut lore a 5k check a week if they wanted. (Like the 1500 check they cut Captain Foley that he bragged about a few years in a drunk live stream. The wanker) and plus he's a great dad. I really wish him the best in all his endeavors. But I cannot tolerate the new trek. Hate it. Hate it with a passion. Lol
@@warhawk4494 $1500 check?! oh no, the lols!!
@@warhawk4494 dude, I need to get with cbs.. I want my 1500 check :p I can respect not liking the change. I honestly didn’t do it for the algo or anything (it actually hurts my stats) - but I completely respect your reasoning.. hope you are well!
@@LoreReloaded like said your awesome. I should re subscribe someday. Plus at that time I was recovering from a heart attack and everything was annoying me so I probably took something outta context. Lol
Well if you want that pay check kiss booty like Captain Foley does apparently. Lol
Bad Lore!! Bad! Bad Boy! Bad!! No!! Malo!! Bad!! Caca!!
