  • How to prepare for a total grid collapse. In South Africa we have seen gross deterioration of our grid and economy as a whole. Are we facing a total grid collapse? How does one prepare for a total grid collapse and what does a total grid collapse look like? In this video I share some insights on what the possible sequence of events looks like during a total grid collapse.

    In Jan of this year ( 2023 ) our power was out for 3 days .. All my neighbors left their homes and stayed in local hotels during the down time .. I am from Wyoming and have a lot of survival training .. I kept my home warm w/ my fireplace and used a Jackery 1000 to keep my fridge cold by cycling it every two hours .. Being raised on a ranch in the 60’s I was used to doing my homework my kerosene lantern made me very comfortable w/ this grid down period .. I also have food storage and have a backup duel fuel generator .. Being here in Oregon my solar generator was barely able to keep up due to the grey days so I powered up my generator on the last day to charge it back up .. I had the blessing of my 2 yr old Doberman for security and company .. I am retired law enforcement SWAT so security was no issue .. In the end when I spoke w/ my neighbors I asked them what would they have done if the outage was for weeks or more .. They responded that something like that will not likely happen so they were not concerned .. Society is prime for a total grid down and things will get seriously ugly .. Great video and info ..

      Keep in mind that food refrigeration doesn't need to be plugged in to a gas generator or solar generator at all times. Run the fridge or freezer for an hour and unplug it for 4 hours. No point in wasting energy when the fridge doesn't need it.

    Ive been off grid on solar and batteries for four years. I added a wind generator last year. I added four 24 volts 100 amp hours lithium batteties six months ago. Ive been collecting food for three years. I built a wood stove out of an old sandblasting tank. I keep 440 gallons of water and 55 gallons of gasoline.

    Excellent video. I would only add 2 things to your fantastically complete list. #1 - A fire starter - recommend a striker type where you're basically rubbing 2 metals together to get a spark (it's waterproof) whereafter you can ignite lint, dried brush - steel wool in bags is a terrific kindling, and you can ignite it with a small AA sized battery. #2 - A small but powerful personal crossbow and at least 20 small arrows. In a worst case scenario, if you need to hit the road, you will eventully need to procure your own food. The crossbow is silent (very important), highly reusable and small enough to conceal. If need to, it will bring down whatever game you are likely going to want to eat. It will also address preditor problems. This is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. Thank you!

      No you don't really warm up after being exposed to cold water. It's not all bad to condition yourself to deal with the worst though, but I made another plan. I got a big Front Runner BBQ grid that I store on my spare wheel and an almost equally big kettle to boil water that I run through a 12v shower pump. I have hot showers in the bush even in the middle of the night at -4°C, and I feel warmer after. C

    Beginning at 14:30 she gives the best advice of all. "Head on a stick" - riots, looting. Presence of mind is good but absence of body is much, much better. Recognize the window of opportunity to get out, and GET OUT. Have a destination in mind. Take just what you need and leave the rest bennd - what you leave behind all just "stuff" and can be replaced.

      Hi Matt, it's interesting to watch that's for sure. I don't get into politics other than to compare events to what the Bible says will happen. We know that according to Revelation 17v12 ten kings will give their power unto the beast and that there will be ten kingdoms/regions set up during the last days. Everything that happens in the world plays into this. When exactly scripture will be fulfilled, we don't know, so I just watch and stay alert.C
      “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of Lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

    Water; look at the supplies for home swimming pools. A well maintained pool is drinking water standard, you can use unprepared water that has been treated with pool chlorinator and allowed to rest to near zero chlorine. pool sanitiser is helpful and pool water test kits can keep water in the less than two parts per million of free chlorine that's drinkable. Remember that a pool is a big volume so use really tiny amounts in a water carrier.

    I'd only give food to my family and that is it. Say you give food to even just one person, that one person could become a problem where for example they finished the food you gave them then possibly a bad situation could come next. That one person you gave food to could come back wanting more, or that one person could come back with more people, say just 2 more people come back, now you have 3 people at your house needing what you have.
    Desperate people do horrible things and many different situations. It sucks morally but that's how I view that situation. People here in the states have the opportunity to have extra food and they choose to spend money on other useless stuff so when the time comes I myself will not be handing out anything cause all it takes is one person and I have children of my own to think about so I'm not going to even take a chance period.
    Guess it's a matter of opinion but you are a more generous person than me C.

    • @LiveReady
      @LiveReady  Рік тому

      Hey Garrett! This sounds like the problem the disciples had with the fishes and the loaves. Jesus multiplied it to ensure more than enough for everyone. We have to trust Him to come through for us because at some point every single person is going to be in need of something, whether that be medical supplies or food or other. What you say makes perfect sense though and that is the nature of a desperate person. In SA we have many desperate people. Your own family does have to come first like you said, and I know that you will be 100% capable of dealing with the situation at the time. C

    The verse in Matthew you quoted, is not referring to actual food, drink, and clothes, otherwise one would need to seek and enter the kingdom within 4 days, as one cannot go more than 4 days without water. The true meaning of this is not what you think, and many Christians have no idea of what it means to seek the kingdom, and the hard truth is, if they knew, they probably wouldn't want to.

    It’s clear, the people of Gaza haven’t watched your videos. If they had, we would be seeing green tents popping up everywhere that their homes were turned to rubble by Israeli bombings. The one thing you advised one should do, is call upon “god” for help, but in their case he (she/it) hasn’t appeared to be listening. Same for the Israelis. Who’s prayers will be answered ? Who’s god will prevail ? (Or is there only one ?) Here in SA we should petition government to get their act together and allow us to link up to Elon Musk’s “starlink” satellite system for extra terrestrial means of communication, saving us from “cellphone-tower” dependency. Satellite phones are still very expensive though, but I believe one can get satellite antennas (similar to dishes) for this purpose. 😇
