Several years ago I realized that Satan
Wanted us to “Be Perfect” so that he wouldn’t
Have to suffer the Atonement for our sins. His FALSE plan would not work because we cannot be forced to be good. Heavenly Father’s plan is the only plan that will succeed. HF’s plan is for us to CHOOSE to be like him and grow from our trials and mistakes. Only Jesus loved us enough to carry
Out the Atonement. HF also knew we would make mistakes and sin. He said when we mess up then we can repent.

So glad you focused on individuals making correct choices/decisions. Leadership cannot succeed when the people choose correctly by following Christ as our leader. We all know power and greed corrupt, humans are the target of corruption. There cannot be enough laws to force people to be good. A moral society does not require many laws. It is the change on the inside, love the quote “the world makes changes on the outside, Gos changes the inside which in turn changes the outside. Pretty simple, question is are we desirous to be accountable to God rather than accolades of man

I really appreciated the insight of looking at all these events in the Book of Mormon as a continuation and type of the pre mortal war in heaven. It continues daily in our personal lives and in our society. Seems so simple to choose Jesus as our king…But the half truths and deceptive philosophies of Satan are persuasive. Thanks for all your effort!

It is possible that Aaron himself recognized what might happen to him and to the people if he chose to become king. Hence, his choice to become a missionary. I imagine Aaron and his father had engaged in a pro and con discussion re Aaron's kingship and possible outcomes.

Satan tells lies mingled with truth....
philosophy of men mingled with scriptures.
Yes, most of us will be saved, (except sons of perdition),.....
just not all in the same degree of glory.
Satan hides this truth with his lies.

I had a few questions about these chapters.
In Mosiah 29, why did the people appoint judges over themselves instead of
waiting for God to tell them to appoint judges. Unlike the Book of Mormon,
Deuteronomy 16:18 and Exodus 18:13-27, for example, shows it was God who
specifically told them to appoint judges.
Alma 3:18-19 says, "Now the Amlicites knew not that they were fulfilling
    the words of God when they began to mark themselves in their foreheads;
nevertheless they had come out in open rebellion against God; therefore
it was expedient that the curse should fall upon them. Now I would that
ye should see that they brought upon themselves the curse; and even so
doth every man that is cursed bring upon himself his own condemnation".
Did the skin of the Amlicites also become dark like the Lamanites or
was the red mark on their forehead considered their only curse? Was
there another curse from God that came upon them after they marked
    themselves with red?
Alma explains in 3:6-7 that the visible sign of the curse (dark skin)
was placed on the Lamanites by God centuries earlier (in the era when
Lehi and his family left Jerusalem).
Why didn't Lehi, Nephi, or subsequent Nephites make this known in their
writings long before Alma came on the scene?
