God I wish I could get into this so bad. Only style of playing I can't learn alone I think lol. I play diatonic mostly though so learned blues. Not many reels played around here.
Practice makes perfect 😄 Getting a few lessons to get on the right path is a good choice. A lot of the very common tunes, like this one, is very hard to play on the harmonica.. 🎶
If I wanted to get some Seydel reedplates in Easy Third to play this, do I ask for E Easy Third, or? Is there other tunings for this song, Paddy, or? Thanks for any and all help Joel!
You want Low-D Easy Third for this one 😊 I wouldn’t really recommend to start out with this tune though as it is a fairly advanced tune, requires tongue switching to get a good nice flow in it. If you are interested in learning more Irish tunes I’m currently working with Harmonica School Berlin on a brand new online platform where you will be able to learn Irish music 😄🎶
@@harpbaby1 valves are great, more volume, more possibilities for dynamics 😊 downside would be that the harmonica is more sensitive to dirt and moisture. Try it, if you don’t like them you can always remove them 😊🎶
Actually,it's a fairly simple way of playing, once you realize how it works. I find myself doing it now w/o realy thinking about the physical movement involved...only the minute adjustment needed to hit the correct notes .Much more fun now!😊
That's really good dude... I'm out of breath just watching you..
haha thank you!
Be so great if you could teach a few of these old standards here in UA-cam and maybe give some tips on how you’re playing those triplets!
I have a complete course on how to play Irish music on harmonica here: harmonica-school-berlin.com/product/irish-harmonica-complete-course/

I’m from Connacht Ireland anyone else?
Is that a “normal” harmonica or it is in a special tuning like Brendán Power has?
Cheers

Thanks Joel. One last question...
would you recommend valving?

Do I use a D harmonica for tunes in Em?
How on earth do you do that double octave thing??
You have to split out notes with your tongue, so you are playing in both sides of the mouth ☺️🎶
@@irishharmonica my god that sounds difficult
