I've had the chance to experience all three, the Challenger, Mustang and Camaro, and personally, the Challenger is my favourite of the bunch. The Camaro I found to be downright uncomfortable. Due to it's design I had to lift my seat up so high to see clearly out the windows that my head touches the roof in the coupe and clears the top of the windshield in the convertible. The Mustang was quite comfortable and I fit well in it so that wasn't an issue, but it almost felt like it was trying too hard to be a sports car over a muscle car but didn't really achieve either role to the best of it's abilities. The Challenger to me just feels special and it feels like a product of the 60s with all the modern conveniences and safety of a modern vehicle. I will say though, I have only ever been in a Hellcat and that clutch is HEAVY! I admire anyone who can daily that thing because it's a leg day workout everytime you drive it. Personally, I would go for this exact model, the 392 Scat Pack with Shaker Hood and the 6-speed Tremec.
Fantastic comments!! Interesting point on the Mustang trying to dual as a sports car and not excelling in either. I guess you are right and really these are muscle cars and building off their heritage. In that case I’d agree and say the Challenger stays truest to its roots.
Spot on and great review!!! Really enjoyed it. You really hit all the points anout this amazing and fun car. I myself just got a 2019 Challenger R/T 5.7 HEMI in pitch black and constantly can’t wait to drive it. Especially here in Europe you can imagine how much attention this big chunk of the last modern muscle car gets. Used to live and grew up in Canada though. Keep up the amazing and honest down to earth reviews!
Thanks!! And congratulations on the new car and I bet it will be a huge attention getter over there lol!! I’m glad someone overseas gets my Canadian humour and hockey references lol.
To reiterate what others have said, the manual doesn't switch from 8 cyl to 4 cyl mode, as it doesnt have MDS. Therefore, it has a Gas Guzzler Tax, where the auto does not. In the real world, I'd much rather have the manual for fun, better control, and equal or better fuel economy in the real world. Plus, the lack of MDS is one less thing to have an issue with. As far as the seat height, it js adjustable up and down on the power seat. Just keep the level parallel to the floor and push it up or down. Great video!
Great review. I absolutely love my Shaker Scat daily driver. The stock exhaust has such a fantastic muscle car sound without drone. I chose the Scat over the Hellcat because I drive daily on the street, not a race-prepped track, and spinning ain’t winning! On the streets, the Hellcat is impractical, and the Scat will definitely give it a run between stoplights for much less cost, and that awesome shaker hood!
The manual is all 8 cyls. all the time which is why you pay the gas guzzler tax for the 6spd. I have the same car in *TorRed* and Shake Down trim, love it. Someone once mentioned that the rear door opening is too far back to use. I suggest they grow and move the seat back.😊 I'm 6'5" and use the rear door storage spot to keep things out of sight, for holding napkins/tissues, a small trash holder or whatever as I need it. I think it's quite useful. 😂 It's technically a spot for the rear passenger. Driving the manual actually lets you interact with and drive the car instead of the car driving you. Buy a luxo-boat if you want to relax. 😊 And the Shaker is the only model i like, as looking out over that functional bulge in the hood is also an experience. The smooth operating, computer controlled engine doesn't "shake" as much as the originals but, it does move and came with the cold air induction already in place so, there ya go. Great cars. 👍
A truly great review ! I myself like the person with the comment purchased a 2015 R/T , and I live in Eastern Europe. Can’t wait to cruise with that heck of a recognisable beauty . And I’ll also use ‘it as a daily driver 🎉 Keep,up the great content ❤
Such a fun car especially in your area of the world where there probably isn’t a lot of North American muscle cars I’m sure;) Thanks for the kind words and support❤️🤝
It's really easy to get in the back seats on the passenger side. I am 6'2" 270 and fit there comfortably. That said, I don't have a Sun Roof in mine so you have like 3" of additional head room.
Same design wheels as on my 2023 1320. Not sure if they have the knurled lip to prevent tire slip on the rim under heavy acceleration like the drag focused 1320 edition.
The brakes are steel, not ceramic. They are Brembo 6 piston front, 4 piston rear. But the vented rotors front and rear (two piece rotors, BTW, to help with heat management) are steel rather than ceramic. No Challenger models have ceramic brakes from the factory.
I believe the rotors are pressed carbon ceramic. With bits of metal in them. It's not just the rigid 6 piston design. They cost almost 1000 per rotor. Now my Br9 brakes for the Rt upgrade are very heavy steel rotors. I'm sure I'm correct on this. Will research, but definitely had ceramics on my Sl55 Amg.
The manual does not have cylinder management. It runs on EIGHT cylinders all the time. The auto trans does switch from 8 to 4 on the highway.
Who cares? Who buys a muscle car and worries about fuel? Lol, Duh!
What a shame …
@@MikeS-kw2hr It's not about fuel. The active system suffers valvetrain issues that the manual transmission cars avoid.
@tommc3622 my bad, I'm always learning. That's OK for me I guess, i only drive manuals if it's offered.

Perfectly said 😊

Thank you! Agree as well. It was such a fun and comfortable experience. I really enjoyed the car and will miss it when it's finally discontinued:(
That has the dynamics package with 275 tires and bigger wheels, not 245s
Correct:)

Yes. 4 piston Brembo brakes on rear. They didn't have a Widebody, huh? The braking, acceleration, and skidpad is improved.
Good review! The Scat Pack is the sweet spot in the Challenger/Charger line up. Great Street Muscle performance 👍
Thank you! And agreed. Great muscle car for the street for sure. It was a tone of fun to review:)
The hockey stick test - haha
🤣

Great comment! Good to know😊
This has the 9.5 inch wheels and 275s. And the much more effective 6 piston ceramic brakes in the front.

After just watching this video once, the motor mounts are either broken in or separated. What do you guys 🤔 think? Need new ones?
When showing the different Challenger models at around the 17:00 minute mark, wonder why no listing for the Scat Pack 1320 edition?
I think I probably didn’t think about it since it is so rare (especially here). Interesting trim for sure but I think I prefer the widebody
If your going scat pack go wide body.
Wide body does look awesome!
🤦♂️ 8:20 the latch on the upper seat back when pulled forward will slide the base forward also. This is the same as they had 50 years ago
Nice!
lucky you don't live in the U.S.... don't have to worry about ppl trying to come after you to steal your car 😄
Lol, bros feet look like a size 7
Nice camera angle
🤣
He looks like Tim Roth!
