  • This video features a discussion and performance of some old standards like Autumn Leaves, Besame Mucho, and several others. Basic chords as well as some more advanced substitutions will be covered.

    many many moons ago, I purchased a songbook called "Real Fake book", where they used all sorts of substitute chords to standard songs, and it is amazing how subtle it can be to improve the sound of various songs. Learning all the possible variations of voicings of chords is a lifetime art that keeps us busy! You have done a masterful job here!

      Hey Rob! How are things in Malta? I remember you're from Malta because I've never met (or corresponded with) anyone from Malta before, until you. Are you still playing the MODX? I sold mine back in the spring when I bought this Roland Fantom. Maybe I will do a video soon on my impressions of the Fantom vs. the MODX.

      @@tkrdennis Hi Dennis! All good here and I hope also for you! Still hot weather here like yours I guess. Yes, still with the MODX8. Some output level discrepancy left/right problems on my HS7s somehow but ok by adjusting my monitors. Thanks for your new inspiring videos. Take note that the reverb Is on the high side to my ears on the phantom. Good to see you come back!
