He uses that "gather step" so fucking well. In real time it looks like a travel but he always just SLIGHTLY plants his foot before he picks up the ball and then he takes 2 strides. Whoever taught him that is a fucking genius.
Most interesting one is the eurostep where he picks up his dribble, takes a hard right step, then he cuts with the left step and then finishes with the left hand... this is the best one because the ball is completely protected even though finishing with the off hand
I think the first step he takes is called gather step then followed by the 1-2 euro step. That's why he always looked liked he was travelling but gather step is legal in nba.
Yoooo some1 who actually watches and thinks be4 saying he travels! That’s cool, I see ppl saying his stepback and euro are travels, but if u watch closely, there’s a 0 step, so it’s 0, 1, 2. Crafty offense right there, and lots of other ppl use it but not as affectively as harden. That’s why he gets the most hate for it.
James Harden is a trickster. He could fool refs with fouls and traveling, they aren't sure if he's doing it right or wrong this time around, not really sure, so they just let him be. This is an art itself.
I believe more than a couple of those times Harden took a step after picking up his dribble and THEN did his one-two Euro step. It seemed on his drives starting from behind 3-pt line. Taking three long steps or adding a quick shuffle. SMH
Ryelander007 It's a travel in my opinion. Look at the last one the shook the guy, of course he's gonna bite left if you already took two steps in that direction but he takes a third step to the right which is what allows him to go by.
Agreed. As good as he is, I saw several travel steps not being called. Eurosteps are hard to judge especially in traffic. I hope the league or refs are more meticulous watching these non-calls.
Ryelander007 He take the ball in his hand and make 2 step.Where is the fucking travel ? U r just a kid who always call a travel for everything ... I bet ur favorite player is lebron james who doesn't travel hmm. Oh wait!!
Bian Chen hardens eurostep is a counter anyway after the pound he reads the defense if they bite he goes for a regular layup if they don't bite he'll counter with a euro
@@SaynTrades Im not seeing that. I see him committing to 1 side of the defender or the other in advance of the gather, with a pre-meditated eurostep line. And hes already mentally prepared for the contact regardless of which shoulder it comes on
I fear and I hope not nor will I wish it upon anybody but those placements must take their toll at some point. Luckily Hardens health has been okay but something worrys me that he might tear an ACL. Just so much pressure on dem joints at that speed.
Your channel is awesome!! Can u send me the james harden superb separation that got deleted. I would really appreciate it brother. Keep up the good work.
+Epic Sauce it definitely wasn't. He took a step with his right foot then he picked up his dribble which allows him to take two more steps because it came off of a dribble
Harden kind of relies on being sloppy. Dwayne/Manu slice in with sharp eurosteps and get a two with no foul, whereas Harden takes a huge step and goes right into traffic on purpose so he can get hand-checked and go to the line. Not saying that's bad, just saying that's his approach. So sometimes it gets messy and is a travel, but if a foul/travel occur simultaneously they normally call the foul instead.
Also Harden does a brilliant thing by swinging his arms up high. Watch his elbows go right near the defender's face, it makes them lean back and lose balance.
Where do you see a travel? He took a dribble with one hand, gathered prior to the hop, took his two steps and finished. You seem to be confused, quit disrespecting greatness, little man.
+Setarkos91 No guy. Everyone says he travels. No he doesn't. he just uses his steps better then anyone in the league. & I don't even like harden. In basketball you have the gather step. which is the zero step. not many people understand that. if you put the ball down & plant your foot at the same time. it's considered a gather. which isn't a step. Then you get your next two. That's what he does. Players like wade perform side steps. Not euro steps. where they don't pick up the dribble at the same time. It's not a travel. He's just using every step.
JAMES HARDEN IS THE KING OF THE EURO STEP OF COURSE NOBODY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL EURO STEPPER MANU GINOBLI BUT HE'S VERY CLOSE CAUSE NOT EVERYBODY CAN EURO HIGH AND LOW LIKE HARDEN THATS A FACT HE HAS TOP 5 BALL HANDLING SKILLS IF HE REALLY TRIED CAN BE A EVEN GREATER SCORING PG MOST CANT GUARD HIM ALREADY IF HE LEARNS TO PASS WITH BETTER VISION I SEE A SNEAKY MVP TROPHY IN DA FUTURE NO MAS 6TH MAN AND I DONT THINK THAT'S EVER BEEN DONE SOMEBODY WINNING BOTH MVP AND 6TH MAN AWARD IN THEY CAREER HE'S ALREADY A TOP 5 PLAYER
He uses that "gather step" so fucking well. In real time it looks like a travel but he always just SLIGHTLY plants his foot before he picks up the ball and then he takes 2 strides. Whoever taught him that is a fucking genius.
jazon345 fuck yeah i agree! he fakes them out twice!
he's a genius tbh. exploiting the rulebooks so much with his moves
He did study Manu. He's on a interview saying he does because he's a lefty...
Harden's strength & size is extremely underrated
Most interesting one is the eurostep where he picks up his dribble, takes a hard right step, then he cuts with the left step and then finishes with the left hand... this is the best one because the ball is completely protected even though finishing with the off hand
Michael Burt he's a lefty so his left is his dominant hand that's what's scary
I think the first step he takes is called gather step then followed by the 1-2 euro step. That's why he always looked liked he was travelling but gather step is legal in nba.
+kevin dave Cadabona It is definitely a gather step. How people still don't know or understand what that is in 2015 is beyond me.
Yeaaaah it is also called the zero step
Now he’s doing the step back
Finally!!!! Someone put eurostep compilation of the best one to do it in the league
This channel is awesome, all the game film I've been looking for. Thank you!
I never see him do the euro step anymore
Floaters now, less taxing on the body also
I was bout to say
He will.. dont worry
Meyuns Kid cause the spacing is soo wide no need
He does it when necessary
Yeah, I used to think he traveled, but no. It's totally legal, just that he uses his steps more effectively than most players.
Yoooo some1 who actually watches and thinks be4 saying he travels! That’s cool, I see ppl saying his stepback and euro are travels, but if u watch closely, there’s a 0 step, so it’s 0, 1, 2. perfected the two unstoppable moves in the nba euro step and step back!! idol!!
as a lefty shooter who struggles driving I should definitely pay attention to James Harden euro and try to use it myself
N0 Shrapnel no bad rcamlle...watch the eyrostep tutirials and watch manu ginobili and sarunis marcelanis
harden just throws the ball ahead out of splits and then does his juking footwork as he gathers the ball and 2 steps
Really unstoppable when he gets that 1st step guys fantastic
James Harden is a trickster. He could fool refs with fouls and traveling, they aren't sure if he's doing it right or wrong this time around, not really sure, so they just let him be. This is an art itself.
Been doing this move since '94 in middle school and up till now I don't know why it's making a big name in the NBA..
Those crossovers are nasty af
Left-handed like Ginobili. The key !!!
2:40 oh my God that was fantastic
So many travels
not true, he does a gather step, where he drops the ball and take a step, that's zero steps, then does the 1,2
King of eurostep
that would be Dwyane Wade.
Frank Lotion Manu Ginobili
Love the videos
Seriously. I can watch Europe steps all day
Jimmy Cen lol
Jimmy Cen it's euro steps
Jimmy Cen “Europe steps” u being racist? smh..
if jeremy lin did this would it be called Asian Step?
People out here trying to expose Harden for traveling when none of these are
at least a couple are lmao. i had no idea he traveled this often
Not really he uses something called a gather dribble
RahulPresentsKobe no
I hope this gets disallowed quickly. Put this together with the no hand-check rule, you pretty much walk from 3 point for a lay up without pressure.
You want to make taking 2 steps in basketball illegal? You must be a special kind of stupid.
This season, he's been doing more step-backs and floaters because of his iso plays.
James Harden - Eurostep 16/17 i hope this
I'm a lefty in basketball and he's my favourite offensive player in today's NBA😍
As long as you jump on that second step no travel. His arm movements make you think otherwise
hi Mr, where is your kemba walker highlight?? I really liked it, so if you can, would you upload again???
ito haruya ua-cam.com/video/ieyCjRc-KPs/v-deo.html
Evin Gualberto we can not watch that, but it's ok. we love your video!!
Literally traveling
I tried his euro step once and got called travel. GGWP
most are euro step the others are pure travelling .... but this is one of the deadliest move ever
which were travels?
Gather dribble
no travel, he took a gather step, where he dropped the ball, and took a step. That's 0 steps. Then he does the euro, where it's 2 steps.
Travel?
that ginobli moved when he first came in in the league
Master of Travelling :D
Master of utilizing the gather step
lebrons the master of traveling tfym
DarkenedVortexGames THANK YOU! WAY AHEAD OF UR TIME BUT U ACTUALLY WATCHED THE GAME! 😇
I believe more than a couple of those times Harden took a step after picking up his dribble and THEN did his one-two Euro step. It seemed on his drives starting from behind 3-pt line. Taking three long steps or adding a quick shuffle. SMH

Ryelander007 it's a gather step. it's legal.
+Kolby K yea most people don't understand that "shuffle" they keep talking about is the gather.
can you do a metta world peace defense vid?
I really want to but I'm having a really hard time getting quality clips
what about rondo?
+k s-g same issue...because he hasn't really locked people up really in a while...although I will say I will look harder for the one who has a DPOY
alright coo
steel chair lol
it seems like he'll make contact and bump his man to get him off balance and then euro step the other way
Wow his euro before is so simple unlike now dropping the ball then take a step then gather plus euro = unstoppable
0:43. 2:25
5:39. 5:54
6:14
2:24 that TRAVEL
Harden literally does not use his right hand on a single one of these layups
0:46 perfection
that traveling
some of it aren't really "eurostep" but just regular layups
Bian Chen hardens eurostep is a counter anyway after the pound he reads the defense if they bite he goes for a regular layup if they don't bite he'll counter with a euro
@@SaynTrades Im not seeing that. I see him committing to 1 side of the defender or the other in advance of the gather, with a pre-meditated eurostep line. And hes already mentally prepared for the contact regardless of which shoulder it comes on
Best Euro and Stepback in the Game
Is it just me or is he traveling on most of the highlights?
the last three was just nasty a euro for a game winner
And you can draw a foul by moving your head to protect the beard and go flying off to the camera man to check on the beard after releasing the shot
No OKC highlights?
anashe brooooooooo, full picado el negron juan
He's even better than what you can do in 2K. You can't really gather that far from the basket in the game
I need to learn how to eurostep!
I fear and I hope not nor will I wish it upon anybody but those placements must take their toll at some point. Luckily Hardens health has been okay but something worrys me that he might tear an ACL. Just so much pressure on dem joints at that speed.
Everyone wants to hate greatness
3:39 was dirty
Good number of these are travels... but 2:52 is just too obvious to not call, he takes a step while putting the ball over his head then takes two more
Haters gonna say its a traveling
I'm not seeing this anymore
Wanna see something disrespectful? This one 6:12. That's worse than being posterized
0:34 Travel
First step was gather step, followed by 1-2 euro
First step was gather step, followed by 1-2 euro
@2:22 Jrue Holiday and Loul Deng in the 2013 All-Star game... weird
Edit: plus David Lee and Brook Lopez? Weird lol
...in philippines we call it kaskas sapatos o chinelas move...and u give a lil bit of bump on ur defender
someone put up a harden travel video!
Your channel is awesome!! Can u send me the james harden superb separation that got deleted. I would really appreciate it brother. Keep up the good work.

ua-cam.com/video/tT4t_HOR3Ss/v-deo.html
Harden moving like Manu!
@ 1:16 did anyone else hear "BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO HONOR HARDEN'S PENETRATION?" or am I just high...
penetration doesn't just mean sex, he penetrates the defense with his offense, penetration is just when you go through something
I can't tell but was that last clip a travel?
It definitely was.
+Epic Sauce it definitely wasn't. He took a step with his right foot then he picked up his dribble which allows him to take two more steps because it came off of a dribble
leki kelekona no travel, it's a gather step, plus the 1,2
So if you drag your feet during a euro step it's a travel
Jaccobtw yea , you gotta make solid steps
he took a gather step, where he drops the ball and takes a step, that's 0, then does the 1,2
Some of them look like the run-up to a long jump.
sorry when he travels with eurostep in half of his moves... sigh, Kyrie said this too
do you not know what a gather step is
+LuongoTHEmachine
Not half but some of it are travels. Most of them are good though.
He abuses his gather step which is smart bc refs are all human
he be traveling from city to city tho...
Some of these aren't just eurosteps, they're straight up travels.
^This. More people need to learn this.
Could you please reference the site/book you got that from. I wanna learn how to do it and be sure I don't travel

no there not hes taking 2 steps there just long strides
Looks like a 2K default player's most ordinary euro-step, but effective nonetheless.
2:37 obviously travel
+Tanongsak Laowanitwattana Yeah I don't think anybody can argue that one.
+Tanongsak Laowanitwattana No it's not. It's a gather step + the one-two.
The Dream Merchant agreed.
Years later he added a dribble on the first step and took and extra an extra step... lol broke the nba
He didn't use his right hand to finish at all in this video.
4:36 was def a travel
He picked up his dribble at the top of the arc then began to take his steps. It was legal
I find it ironic how in the Pokemon world, the skill "Harden" is a highly effective defensive ability. And yet, James Harden has no defence ability.
Stfu
And I thought only Manu Ginobli can do that
Might as well have called this the "James Harden Runs over Poor Little Mo Williams Compilation" but I guess thats too long.
he traveled at the 2013 all star game
call the cops? maybe the NBA head office can get that travel followed up and the referees can admit they missed it!!!
He Be Traveling 😂
He Be Gather dribbling XD
In the Philippines its traveling
0:39 that sht is a travel
out of all the things to call a travel, you picked the one that is literally 2 steps. You're blind
Did he actually play some Defense in this game ?
Nestor Sifuentes I kinda did you chard piece of shit I was talking about if he did outside of the higlights. Let's not assume genders
1:06 is it me or do I see a travel?
Official rule is a "gather" then 2 steps, which is basically saying 3 steps, if he took more than 3 it's a travel
the 1st step after dribble was a gather step. After that he took the two steps before finishing it.
the 1st step after dribble was a gather step. After that he took the two steps before finishing it.
0:39 3 step???
Renz Zaide ye
30 plays were shown, 97 steps were taken.
Wait what?
You don't know ball lil bro
Harden Be Like🏀💪💪
His harden really that quick? It seems he can get by literally anybody and his defenders always just seem slow
+angelboy1488
He's driving at full speed while defenders are backpedaling in transition and are off balance.
:34 he traveled so nasty
Where do you see a travel? He took a dribble with one hand, gathered prior to the hop, took his two steps and finished. You seem to be confused, quit disrespecting greatness, little man.
Abdi Mohamed
Abdi Mohamed Last dribble is on the left foot, then he goes right, left and jumps off the right foot = 3 steps. Same as the first one against GSW.
+Setarkos91 No guy. Everyone says he travels. No he doesn't. he just uses his steps better then anyone in the league. & I don't even like harden. +Instagramchampange very well said sir
it's like Harden voodoo the refs or something because they never call travelling on him
Euro Step works a lot better when you're his height. Long Strides
When i do euro steps correctly they call it a travel
idol
Last euro step was absolute travel...
+Lucas Rodriguez you get a gather step dumbass Learn rules before you assume
+Lucas Rodriguez you get a gather step dumbass Learn rules before you assume
haha took 3 steps lol
No, a gather then 2 steps
Nestor Sifuentes Idiot? man... I play basketball for 5 years and I'm also basketball referee second year
2:09 he wear nike
