  • In today's video we'll cover over 8000km from Vienna to Narok, Kenya, only 40km from Maasai Mara, to see the Maasai Homestead that's transforming lives in Kenya. We have one interest; to experience living in this cool Maasai Homestead, Bomanoma, where we'll show you the modern way of life of the Maasai community that's led by a young Maasai woman, Selina, and her young American Husband Brian.
    To contact Bomanoma, visit their website www.bomanoma.com/

    In 'Living in Vienna' we spotlight life as it happens in Vienna. We mainly share what's going on in Vienna during our insightful walks and/or in arranged or impromptu interviews with Viennese people. All the times, we keep our ears on the ground and our eyes in the air to bring you to the front seat of life as it is in Vienna. If it's happening in Vienna, we are catching it and sharing the moments in time with you.

    I absolutely love how much pride all the working men take in their work. Being able to build homes with electrical, plumbing, gardening, raised terraces, etc - all the edible greenery and stones. Nature can be hard to work with manually and they've made it look easy and so utterly beautiful. They've crafted an oasis with their hands. Much love. I'm here for this all day!

    Why do people think this is so strange? Some of the happiest and healthiest people live on farms and homesteads. We, in America, don’t recognize enough of the hard work and sacrifice our rural communities put in to keep us fed. This lifestyle isn’t for everyone because of the hard work and little appreciation given yet it’s absolutely necessary for a functioning society. Shout out to everyone across the globe who sacrifice certain “comforts” for a loving and devoted family life❤️

    I had the pleasure of meeting Selina while I was in Kenya evaluating projects for regenerative farming in september, a beautiful woman and a real leader in her community and in the world wide movement to regenerative farming and sustainable living. Looking forward to visiting their project in april when we return to Kenya to establish several complimentary programs, one in Narok as well. WHat an inspiring story that gives us all hope that Africa is gaining great momentum in the permaculture movement!

    • @asilingamani
      @asilingamani  2 роки тому +11

      Hi Robbie thanks for your comment. Parmaculture is not a new concept in Africa, it is the way people have always planted crops since time in history. What's new in Africa is the monoculture, GMO, and commercial farming.
      There is so much the world can learn from Africa, but somehow the world is convinced it is Africa that should be learning.
      Come to Africa prepared to unlearn and learn.

    What a beautiful way of life. Africa is lovely! It's time for peace in many other African countries so people can live their lives simple and peacefully. I don't like to mention but some places people live in fear. I think for those places, uttermost protection is needed that those who even think of disturbing/perpetrators can be dealt with approximately. Hi Motlalepuke, thanks. I've listening to a lot of South African podcast and I'm surprised how much your languages are similar to Swahili. It should be no surprise as Swahili is a Bantu Language. Would be nice of me to learn 9 languages in South Africa

    Undabiliwa for being called, more like setswana in Botswana, we say ke biditswe. We used the same technique too for our huts, the difference is that it is done by women . The houses are cold in summer. Love their initiative

    Im normally not impressed with any American who would want to live that tough type of life in Africa which is the way that I see it but I am about to say I am sorry for my past negative comments. Their houses and surroundings are actually beautiful. I am impressed.

    • @asilingamani
      @asilingamani  2 роки тому +19

      Hi Diana, a tough type of life is only in a place where there is absence of love. There's no place on earth where there can exist an absence of love other than inside the human heart. So, I'm really glad to hear that this video is touching (with love) the hearts of those that see it.

    this is so significant, because, unlike previous imperial interference, the locals are able to learn new techniques and incorporate them as they see fit... most important is that they can improvise their local traditions, like how they build, with new ideas that may benefit the community, without destroying any of the indiginous ways and wisdoms... this is TRUE and ETHICAL progress in preparation for the changes climate will bring
