When I saw him with a cap (he never wear that) and yellow skin at the press conference, I knew something wasnt right. When he put his first middle kick with no power at all on round 1 I was certain of it. He honored his contract and the card anyway, he's a real soldier, Dana White will remember it. Great interview, I don't think this is an excuse, he's probably just angry and regrets the fight. But he clearly said 2 important things:
    - Dustin, RDA and all the great champion fought with this kind of problem
    - He could have been knock out anyway, but he would have given a better fight.
And also the fact that he didn't call off the fight made him super reliable for the fan and the UFC. He turned up, gave it all, and it was the fight of the night.

@@JamieReynolds89 He said that he would have had better chance of healing the staph infection if he didn't have that much weight to cut (he weight 85kg in regular life, and fight at 70kg). So now he will try to stay at 80kg in normal life, so he won't have that much weight to lose, and will avoid drastic loss of energy during cutting, even with an infection.

This is probably one of my newest favorite fighters, everything about him is bad ass especially the special forces background, he also is having the quickest improvement out of anyone Ive ever watched, I could see him being a champ for sure in the future. Frustrating for him it must be. And for us, not seeing him at 100% to get a 4/5 rounds fight.
He gave all he had in the 1st to try to make it happen. 2nd was to hard as a result... He won the 1st but he loses the fight giving all he had...
Credit to DP for survinving the 1st. It was all he had to do to win the fight in the end.
I feel we won't see a DP vs BSD number 2, Poirier is getting old and he want a title shot, he does'nt want a BSD at 100%, in two years, at 36...
