I think he and Alex Volkanovsky excel at MMA at the same exceptional rate. Alex was playing ragby until his early or mid 20s and then he got into mma and ran straight to the top. This guy was in the French Special Operations, until 2019. Granted he had good Judo training, from age 8 to 16, and is a black belt in Judo, which is why it is so difficult to deal with him in the clinch. But his MMA career still is very short, compared to other elite MMA guys. Anyway, if there's one thing an elite Judo is super good at, it's the clinch, even without a gi/shirt to grab hold of! They simply have better sense of balance, of their own and of their opponent, than all others.

Both Justin and Dustin have clear deficiencies, respectively in ground game and takedown defense, that BSD could definitely exploit. He's also proven to be a real danger on the feet, and able to actually tailor his gameplans to his opponent and stick with it.

Outside of Dustin, I don't think there has really been anyone in the last couple years that I really was excited to see fight against Justin and had a feeling they could actually put on a good war worth of Gatehje. But I'm there now with Saint-Denis. Anyone that has trained in striking or MMA can clearly see this guy is q problem in the cage. Landing that head kick on Matt who was running AWAY takes so much skill and instinct, perfect timing and distance management and awareness. I don't know if we'll see the fight against Gaethje any time soon because he still has to climb the ladder but damn I hope it happens before Justin slows down

Hasn't really been challenged in the cage as well yet, all his fights were "easy" fights where he totally dominated his opponent.
Not counting his fight with elizeu on purpose, as it wasn't his weight category, short notice and guy was juiced to the gills.

I fiest saw this guy fight in Brave promotion, and the star power was evident. I was thrilled when he landed in the UFC. Anyone who hasn't seen his first UFC fight should look it up. I believe Benoit went up to 170 for his UFC debut, maybe shoet notice, and the ref was legend (in the worst way). He wanted this dude to win so bad he let it go way past proper stoppage expiration. Then when the official announcement of the other guys win was made, the ref had visible vitreol, and he jerked the winners hand up, and stormed out of the octogon. I hear that ref was walked off the premisis.
