I have the first gen and love it. Didn't see anything super compelling in the 2nd Gen to make me want to upgrade. Maybe the 3 will really wow me but for now I'll stick with the OG
One of the key selling points for me for the Active 2 vs other activity tracking watches, is the potential for an ECG/EKG on this. I'm not an iPhone user so the Apple Watch is out of the question for me.
I have been wearing analog traditional watches most of my life. Never have I had one that made a ticking sound that was audible enough to hear it from your arm's length away. What a pointless feature.
The audible ticking is not noticable compared to a regular analog watch. I like the ticking sound of analog watches, but like smart watches. The feature is really for that niche market.
nice review - ive been debating to get the Active 2 (I own the Active now) - and to me the two reasons would be - larger screen size and mic/speaker. I did notice that the colors on some of the watchfaces are different - for example - on the Health dashboard watch face - the two meters that measure steps and minutes on the Active 1 are solid colors , while on the Active two they are gradients (which to me look nicer) - small differences - but a difference nonetheless.
I didn't even notice that I got the Active 1 instead of the 2 (i did want the 2 originally) but thank you for the video because now seeing the differences, its not THAT different for me to desperately want to return my Active 1 for the 2 hahaha

I dont know if its already been posted, but its good to note that the "right" spot to wear the Smartwatch is near the bone near the back of your hand (the one where you put the black galaxy watch). The spot where you used the second watch may had some data different because of that. On the upcoming comparison, try to use one watch on each hand, so both are on the right spot. Great review, i am making my mind based on your content, on my country (brazil), the active 1 i can get for R$500, and the active 2 is for R$800, and to me its a lot, but i like smartwatches a lot as well.

I think the majority of things that the Active 2 has and the Active hasn't are just mistakes Samsung made and now they listened and fixed them, like, the bezel could be smaller and touch and the Active could have a speaker into it. I'm going with the Active because I live in Brazil and the Active 2 is more than double the price of the Active (that still costs almost a minimum monthly salary here)

Planning to purchase a smartwatch.. Should I go for Active2/Active1/Galaxy Watch 42mm? Pls suggest me one based on the features incorporated and future firmware updates
Does it do a better job at using your heart rate to estimate calories burned? I noticed on my current Active 1, no matter how hard I push a 1hr weight training workout always burns the same amount of calories.
Google just needs to create a Pixel watch, just like the watch active 2, where the features work natively without having to download additional apps and is fast and reliable. The main difference with the Pixel watch and Active 2 would be the ability to download other apps from the play store (that work great too,) and Google assistant at your wrist. It could even work well with Pixel buds.
It is shit , it goes off too much on every measurment an gps isnt good , heart rate is broken , sleep data is all right but overall the watch is useless for sport , would recomend garmin venue , or if you have money garmin forunner 945 or garmin fenix 5 or 6!!! Garmin is the one to go when you talk about this watches.
Thanks for suggesting the Galaxy fit 2, Previously I was quite apprehensive of those kind of bands but because of you I looked into them and it was exactly that my requirements are very few I don’t want to play music, call, messages.. But only notifications sleep tracking heart rate tracking and gps, Not even the NFC
Its has better software, if you don't need a speaker the software update made them almost Identical, also this one is water proof so I would say its better
Can you connect bluetooth earbuds to the watch? Also what is the LTE feature? Can you use a second party heart rate monitor? And doesnt the active one still claim that you can make phone calls from it? But it doesnt have a speaker? I'm confused?
You actually can on the active 1. I have one and I've done it myself. I don't really use it though as I don't find it fun watching video on such a small screen.

Call Samsung
yeah put it on craigslist.
Yes, go to the samsung website. They gave me $75 for my gear sport. They also gave me $300 for my Tab S5e when I traded it for a tab s6.
Planning to purchase a smartwatch.. Should I go for Active2/Active1/Galaxy Watch 42mm?
Pls suggest me one based on the features incorporated and future firmware updates
Is say active 1 unless making phone calls is important to you. However you should have your phone on you.
so do you think that $80 is worth the upgrade?
Edit: on amazon you can get the watch active 2 for only $50 more
Is the AOD in 2 brighter than 1 or can you get it brighter?
The touch bezel comes with the watch active as well.
Best video beautifully explained
Does it do a better job at using your heart rate to estimate calories burned? I noticed on my current Active 1, no matter how hard I push a 1hr weight training workout always burns the same amount of calories.
You need to set up your body measurements and it'll be more accurate
Nick Thats setup and it still makes no difference.
Fantastic information, thank you!
What size are these? I want to order one
Watch active 1 now has rotating bezel!
how ı got that update too but it doesnt work
@@yusufekerdiker7908 it's in setting
Google just needs to create a Pixel watch, just like the watch active 2, where the features work natively without having to download additional apps and is fast and reliable. The main difference with the Pixel watch and Active 2 would be the ability to download other apps from the play store (that work great too,) and Google assistant at your wrist. It could even work well with Pixel buds.
is it possible to do interval training oder cardio with this watch?
It is shit , it goes off too much on every measurment an gps isnt good , heart rate is broken , sleep data is all right but overall the watch is useless for sport , would recomend garmin venue , or if you have money garmin forunner 945 or garmin fenix 5 or 6!!! Garmin is the one to go when you talk about this watches.
@@dominikgrubisic9326 Shut up making shit up just so you can try and make everybody buy a Garmin watch.
@@mydickisincrediblytinyandi7380 your name tells me everything about you.
What wrist size does this fit, large strap max wrist size?
The 2 looks so much better bc of the bigger screen and it having a speaker is a huge plus
Can you set a run target distance on this watch and have it stop the timer when you complete the distance?
Are these both the 40mm models?
Thanks for suggesting the Galaxy fit 2, Previously I was quite apprehensive of those kind of bands but because of you I looked into them and it was exactly that my requirements are very few I don’t want to play music, call, messages.. But only notifications sleep tracking heart rate tracking and gps, Not even the NFC
After the latest update... The watch active 1 now also has a touch rotating bezel....
How would you compare this to the gear sport? Is it worth the upgrade?
Its has better software, if you don't need a speaker the software update made them almost Identical, also this one is water proof so I would say its better
Does this work with other android phones or just Samsung? And if YES, is there any limitations compared to Samsung?> Can you test it please?
Will the straps from the Galaxy Watch fit the Watch 3?
Can you connect bluetooth earbuds to the watch? Also what is the LTE feature? Can you use a second party heart rate monitor?
And doesnt the active one still claim that you can make phone calls from it? But it doesnt have a speaker? I'm confused?
you can also watch UA-cam videos on the Active 2. You can't on the Active 1. Neither has UA-cam music control, though.
You actually can on the active 1. I have one and I've done it myself. I don't really use it though as I don't find it fun watching video on such a small screen.
@@mchintt how did you watch youtube on the watch? can you show me? or make a video pls. thanks
