This feeling seemed completely embodied in Parvathy when she sang this song on the concluding night of the week-long Rajasthan Kabir Yatra in February 2012.
Parvathy Baul is a Baul singer, practitioner, painter and storyteller from Bengal and has been a disciple of Shashanko Goshai and Sanatan Das Baul. She divides her time between her home in Trivandrum, Kerala and the Baul ashram she has built near Shantiniketan in Bengal. (parvathybaul.com/)
The Rajasthan Kabir Yatra was a travelling festival which toured 7 villages with 13 singers of Bhakti, Sufi and Baul poetry in Feb 2012 (see short movie on the Yatra). The Yatra was organized by Lokayan in Bikaner (www.lokayan.org) in partnership with the Kabir Project, Bangalore.

The heart ache is palpable. The human condition is essentially of loneliness but this rendition by Parvathy shatters my heart in a million pieces. Oh Lord have compassion for the human kind.
