Flying low over beautiful terrain like that is always appreciated.
This right here!
I don’t think you can make a better video than one about helping a friend in need. Well done!
Did feel very scripted tho, just like a Top gear episode.
Yes, that you guys were able to help
It was staged.
@@stuwest3653I thought so also, still good content regardless.
bet you also believe in santa ...... this is just a mass advertising video
You're a good dude Dave. Everyone needs a friend like him. Willing to come pick you up when you're in trouble. Whether that's in a helicopter or a pickup truck. This is a good reminder for myself to be that type of friend to others.
You need to get Diesel Dave certified as a second pilot for your Blackhawk. Not enough Blackhawk content yet.
Yeah, we all need a gajillionaire friend with a copter.
This was scripted and staged just so they could plug that sponsor.
9:15 Dave you should always put the parking brake on in the pre-landing checks BEFORE you actually land on a slope, and even if it looks flat, it's a ridge/pinnacle approach. Unless you're landing in a perfectly flat paddock not on top of hill then go ahead and do what you want with park brakes. If you fly NVG one day, then treat every remote landing as a slope landing as NVGs can be very hard to pick slope, holes, obstacles etc... Fly safe!
I spent 26 years in Civil Air Patrol so this is right up my alley. Love the helicopter, love the rescue, love the camaraderie and friendship. I've spent several nights at 3:00 a.m. looking for ELT's in the 80's and 90's so this just takes me back.
how many times were those needing rescued standing around with the property owner while waiting to be picked up?
None, but I had to have various people come out to the airport in the middle of the night to turn off their ELT that was set off by mistake. The others were actual missing aircraft and they usually didn't end well, with the pilot and/or passengers deceased.@@iffykidmn8170
The aerial views of those mountains never get old. Keep this type of video coming.
Random, unplanned, unscripted videos like this are the BEST! Great scenery, cool look at the inside of a helicopter, life lesson … all in one video.
Dude, your average Saturday is a hell of a lot more interesting than 99% of our Saturdays. Anything with a helicopter involved only elevates the content. Stay safe.
HEAVY D is a good hearted man who enjoys giving as much as he recieves.
He must’ve received a lot of phony videos.
"a good hearted man"
lol ok
As a former USCG HH65 flight mechanic, I used to do this kind of stuff on the Oregon coast line as well as inland rescues. Keep putting this out and I’ll watch.
Helping people out and making sure that they get home safe is always a good idea and makes for good content
Dave, it has to feel great to be the guy your friends call when they need a helping hand, and to be able to have the time and resources to make stuff like this happen! To answer your question, YES! A million times yes! I absolutely love watching the videos you post like this. Literally anything aviation related is a must watch for me. Keep up the great work!
When I grow up, I wanna be like dave
As a former private pilot I love your aviation content, especially the Blackhawk content.
As do I, especially the videos concerning the Dolphins. I have many hours the USCG version as a Flight Mechanic and these videos sure do bring back a lot of good memories.
Absolutely enjoy real world videos like this. Thank you for taking us along.
"Real world" 😂
Ikr one big ad lol @@dobledekersoulwrekr
SAR friendly ❤.
Well done. As a retired pilot I noticed some “tightness” during the flight. Well done Dave , good airmanship is key to success on these kind of missions.
This video is exactly what the Dauphin needs. An example of the reason why it exists in the first place. Thank you Dave for sharing this episode and I look forward to many more like it!
Honestly, I am not familiar with the Dauphin, but it does not look the sort of helicopter for flitting from treetop to treetop or landing on 8000" ridgelines (even with little to no wind). Actually it seems to me to be rather like an improved Jet Ranger, basically a commuter helicopter. I would suggest using a OH-6A or its MD-500 equivalent for that sort of thing.
@@WarrenLacefield I kinda has nothing to do with a Jet Ranger.. As its name suggests, it has been primarily used as a maritime SaR and anti-submarine machine. Speed and space cabin rapidly VIP and HEMS markets, even tho the western european always prefered the BK117 platform for HEMS stuff because they're basically a van inside.
@@HugoAmasing Interesting. Well, I did say I am not familiar with the Dauphin and probably should research it a bit. (I just did, Dauphin is quite different.) But I have flown Jet Rangers a few times and I would say they are/were OK for mail runs on days not too overly warm. Well, I am being snarky; they were good for their size and purposes. But neither seem to me suited for low level mountain flying.
Dave made this video to convince his wife he needed another helicopter
the second one belongs to his husband 😂
☠️
“I’ll give you $100 to ride up this hill and get stuck on purpose so I can come rescue you”
Bro, I read the title and thought this. 😅
@@Chickenman36284 I bet they just dropped them off on the mountain and then circled around and picked him up ..Dave said he road like 16 miles and bush waked through bushes meanwhile his white shirt is spotless and he's not sweaty at all lmao
Any reason to see that sweet sweet Dauphine in the air and just flying around is gonna get my attention. Really appreciate the extra Polish you guys put into the videos
Thanks for being the guy that your friends can rely on. SAR operations, no matter how small, are still super impactful and save lives. Excellent execution on the landing and take-off from the ridge line.
It was just an ad...
Bro what. Not trying to undermine SAR but they sent some dudes on bikes up there for the purpose of making a video.
@@00Donkey00100%.
Asked “stranded guy” if he wanted water and he goes “uh suree”
Love everything you guys do wish I could get a day with you guys but that would never happen now that I have cancer love you guys
I am a Commercial Multi Engine Fixed Wing Pilot and a Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Pilot, and a Private Fixed Wing SeaPlane Pilot and I love your Love of Helicopter flight. Getting the Blackhawk and a Dauphine is amazing! Keep doing good work for those who are less fortunate!
So glad you were able to help a friend in need. Any type of video you put out is already perfect. Don't stress it.
That bird was once the air medical transport in my area ( southwest Michigan)
It’s good to see that it has found a good home and is still saving lives
The rescue videos to me are the best. Don't get me wrong I love all your videos but I really love when you help people. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
Heavy D, you asked a question at the end of this video. ' Do you want to see this kind of daily life type content'? Maybe you didn't word it quite like that but my answer is yes, Bring it on! You, Diesel Dave, Hans and your amazing crew have amazing storytelling abilities which coupled with the killer video content can make a simple flight to pick up stranded friends into awesome content. Thanks for what you do. Scott. BTW, we have met in the past, I think it was SEMA 2019 or 2018, I was the then CEO of Rolling Big Power, we did some stuff together and partnered in a build that we featured in the RBP booth. Anyway, all my best, and enjoy what you, DD and the crew do.
Hey folks, as a UK Veteran I enjoy all your videos and I have to say anything involving helicopters is great, keep them coming..Thanks
I love these videos. I’ve worked on fixed wing and helos for over 30 years. You are the man Heavy D. I’m especially impressed by your cockpit situational awareness. Always scanning the instruments and the sky. Looking up checking engine controls. Sign of a safe pilot. May the Lord continue to bless you, your family, and all your compadres. Stay safe
Nice to know someone who is as nice as Dave and who has the resources and heart to help folks like this! Definitely like these kind of videos! At 15:42 the mountaintop ridge line almost looks like a person laying on their back top of head to left, shoulders and chest to the right… does anyone else see that? Looks pretty neat!
Dave, so happy to see all you guys doing good in this world. Anytime you can help out a fellow human, its a good day. Keep up the good work.
Big Mike.
Dave is the friend that we all need!
Everybody needs a friend like Heavy D. Great rescue.
BYO Jet Fuel ;)
It’s nice to see that helicopter still saving lives. I think you did great buying that bird.
But he didn't save anybody this was a scripted video for his sponsor on x offroad
I came to say the same thing. It still gets to do its job
@@Don-ou6dzYep! This is a scripted ad.
That was a good demonstration of the possible dauphin capabilities.
These are some of the best videos helping out friends!!!But also rescuing someone that needed help!!Keep them coming
You're ALWAYS helping people, that's cool brother, who doesn't want to see this kind of stuff?
I mean its not like it was set up perfectly to make a sponsored video....... Almost like it was planned....... Yeah you cant trust them to put out actually honest content they create drama. It feels insulting to be honest.
Can anyone say “staged” lol
Really? it was an add and they got paid a boat load.
Yep - love the spontaneity of the videos. We all need friends like Dave.
Like…you actually believe that this is spontaneous? With a timely sponsor plug and all! Wow
love any rescue videos, cars, people, cars with people in them, just the thought of seeing one of your trucks pass by on the highway while others have normal cars, just cracks me up. you make light to a situation that could have been much worse.
Always nice to know a guy that owns a helicopter.. or two. Well done Dave.
This is an excellent example of what can happen even to the most able and experienced. No harm became of it thanks to your rescue. Glad you shared this video.
Great that you guys are always ready and willing to assist. Well done! These short videos are perfect to put things into perspective. Please continue.
Being a mointain biker myself i've been in situations where i've run out of food and water. Having someone you can call for a rescue is awesome especially when your ride home is in a heli.... loved this video Dave
Having Dave as a friend is a blessing. A helicopter ride like that would easily be in the 10's of thousands of dollars
Stop talking BS. Dauphin hourly rate is $2,500 tops.
@@notwhereyouthink not for rescues
@@notwhereyouthink For rescue's it's a different thing. It's not only fuel, but it's maintenance, fuel, aircrew, ground crew, coordinators, and if you have a specific "rescue subscription" like Garmin or whatever, it also factors in insurance alongside other things. So it's definitely in the 10k+ range.
And considering what assets get deployed it could be even more.
@@Doomsday499 More BS. Fuel was the only cost factored into this pickup. End of.
A ride in a medi vac chopper to a hospital is 15-20k.
It makes me VERY happy to know that I had a VERY small part in helping these friends in their time of need!! Thank you to ANY and EVERY person that played a part in this video
I'm glad you were able to get your buddies off the mountain safely, and yeah, these kinds of videos are completely fine with me.
Hans is so casual. He walks over with 3 waters hands them out . They were like oh thank god this is over . Great job guys great job !
Being able to fly and help a friend is a true blessing. I like these flying videos
This is the first ever video of yours I've watched. Insant sub. The way you helped your friends, the editing, the kindness honestly conveyed through the camera, the knowledge to fly a helicopter. EVERYTHING. Great work man!
Hi Dave; you guys always come thru for me. I’m an ex trucker who retired when my wife had a stroke and I watch action videos such as yours. Your content is always top notch so kudos to you and your team! Keep up the good work!!!
I like these type videos. It shows and educates the importance of exploring at the appropriate skill level. It shows that even if you have expierience what can go wrong.
Another reason why having Dave as a friend is such a good thing lol
You don't think this video is fake? two perfectly clean dudes who "kept falling in the dirt", were thirsty but didn't drink the bottles 14:00, weren't sweating 15:25, got lost but knew exactly where they were?
@@ThePastaManCanwell this was a Preety entertaining video even if it was fake 🤷♂️
@@ThePastaManCanwho cares if it was fake. Still entertaining. 100% of what you watch on tv is fake…. Even the reality tv and the news.
As long as he has a sponsor to shill for yeah.
@@ThePastaManCan and standing with the property owner whose land they had been previously trespassing on.
Actually, gratified that you actually took up a helicopter to save people's lives. Friends. those kinds of things show what kind of personality and person you are!!! Amazing. Helping people is what we need in this world!! Thank you
Videos like this are cool, too. Refreshing to see some unplanned stuff.
You seriously think this was unplanned?
@@TFT-bp8zkit's sarcasm. Nothing dave does is real. Dude is milking it hard
Dave, Hans...YES, we like rescue/helping people videos away from your headquarters/shop area...up in the mountains, in another state, in the winter, rain or mud, searching for people or even just repairing or recovering vehicles, heavy equipment and whatnot. The helicopters are cool in rescue, recovery or searching videos, but so is all of your other equipment. That RARE, COOL huge snowblower you bought from the ski resort(?) is really cool...you ought to be able to use it to help or rescue people in the winter. ;)
Good evening from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It’s great that you have the capability of helping people in need. Thanks for sharing your experiences. 🇺🇸
Thanks Dave. This was honestly worth it. I enjoy the human interest - Jason meeting his family.
Love the videos and hope you still make more of them. I have a fear of heights and flying. Dave is very cautious and does what he needs to do, to be safe and having the common sense to keep his people safe as well. I was telling my wife that, I think Dave Sparks would be the only person to help me get rid of the fear of heights and flying!!
What I like is you and your friends just being who you all are... Helping when and where you can ( even if you have to travel to do it), never hesitating to drop what you're doing to go help a friend ( even when they got in over their heads). The planned stuff is all good, but its the day to day things and your being who you all are that makes your channel interesting and just fun... Guys who care about each other, who help each other and are friends enough to give each other static when it is deserved....You guys are like " A box of chocolates".
That was just pure and simple some of the most epic and awe inspiring video I have seen in awhile. The fact that I know you'd have been in that helicopter, doing exactly what you did, even if you didn't have a channel speaks volumes about you brother.
It’s nice to see videos where we get to see Dave grow as a pilot. I can’t imagine that landing on that peak was super easy.
Enjoyed the Dauphine and your piloting but especially love your quick start-up for these friends' rescue. Bravo!
I'd like to see more videos like this Dave. Thanks for taking all of us along on this flight. Hope your weekend mellowed out.
The power and sound of the tail rotor on that bird are amazing. I see why you love them!
Thank God for friends like you! Amazing vid and glad they are safe 🙏
I wish the park services had more folks like this willing to hop in a vehicle and get stuff done. While it was a friend needing help the real tell to me wasn't can we, it was how fast can we. Enjoyed the video and your local area is gorgeous so just content to watch the scenery and the chopper itself.
This guy could be having a good day, and he take the time to be kind and a unconditional friend!! Very admirable
Dave you're such a blessing you're always there when one needs help the most.
Thanks alot for the effort you're always putting in.
Awesome video Dave, the real deal in helping anyone in need. You and your team are rock star's!
Great video. Don’t doubt yourself. You guys live interesting lives and it’s always a pleasure to get peek into them no matter the circumstance. Keep it up fam
Yo D... the impromptu side of your life is what makes it so intriguing. Keep helping people, brother, and we'll keep supporting yall.
Thanks!
I’m thinking you would do that for anyone that needed help! God bless you, your family and all your crew!!
Dave is so kind considering the guys he rescuing to guys who seem like they should know better.
All staged, I guess
@TimToussaint not likely staged, Dave is going to help a friend every time. Seems sad dude got in over his head, to me, that's all!

This content is absolutely MINDBLOWING. Seeing chopper action, even for this simple mission.. UNIQUE. Keep it up!
Love that you are willing to help friends and other people out when in need. Keep the awesome videos coming brother.
Or helping guys he paid to go get lost.

Was great seeing an impromptu mission to help a friend. Fun seeing an unique landing like that. Grew up near a coast gaurd base with these birds and always have loved the sound. Had a fun mission taking photos from a black hawk on the border or Kuwait and Iraq. Asked our pilot how close they could get to our sister bird and didn't disappoint so I could shoot photos from one bird of another one. Would be cool to see some video of you flying one and a friend in another getting some unique shots especially unique landings like this one.
Anytime you can save a friends life with a helicopter, ill be around to watch! Nice job Mr. Picky :)
Fake
Short and sweet ... but the guys that messed up (and laughed about it), we should all be so fortunate as to have an amazing and kind-hearted friend with a helicopter in his garage!
I like your videos because they are always differant but especially the ones that show you rescuing people and showing your heart. sometimes it's hard to tell which is bigger your wallet or your compassion, keep it up big guy & ty.
Absolutely love the spontaneous videos. Especially if it involves aviation.
To all of Dave’ neighbors: Please go get lost in the surrounding mountains and send him an SOS call. It was great to see the Dauphine helicopter in action. Thank you!
Good to see Dave testing power/maneuverability before landing. When a helicopter runs out of lift/power you're stuck if you can't descend. Can't slow down, can't turn, can only descend or hope you survive the forced landing.
Looks like someone just bought the crew a few steak dinners :) Got to pay for the fuel somehow!
Looks good to me. Nice to have people that you can count on. Honest, from the heart. Dave and Hans are amazing. Video was cool.
Dave seems like hes always rescuing his adventurous friends. During winter wen no vids can be made or summer wen it slows down his friends get in easy predicaments for dave to come save the day
Hey Dave I love your content every time I watch you’re always willing to lend a helping hand the world needs more people like you. Good job and keep them coming. Also, I think your editing is amazing. You capture some really beautiful scenery and there’s always something that catches your eye that makes your videos more interesting.
100% these kinds of videos show different sides of your everyday. To help out a friend in need is awesome to see. The best way to offset all the BS that's on UA-cam.
Showing people to support and care about others, not make drama that doesn't bring anything. This platform needs wholesome content, and you are TOP G.
Keep on going, I'm supporting you as a content creator and human.
This is a staged ad video...
Yeah bro we like these vids... love watching anyone with their own helicopter just fly whenever
Brilliant video, helping friends no matter what, even with the expense of the helicopter shows your true side off the type off person you are. If the leaders in every country had half your humanity the world would be a better place. Thanks, keep doing what you guys do

Absolutely awesome video! Short, sweet, unplanned, interesting, comical, actual rescue, on and on. Keep stuff like this coming!
There is nothing better then being able to help a mate out. Being able to have fun while doing it is always a bonus. Love the on the spot video it's always interesting to see different stuff you do. Love the work.
Thanks to this messed up situation, we got a great video of the Dolphin and incredible shots of the Utah nature. More of that, please!
This brought back memories for me lol. I used to be the one everyone called when they got stuck in the desert because I had the only truck capable of going anywhere so of course I looked out for friends. Your a good man Dave👍👍
Dave, we love all your content.
Great video. It's nice to see good deeds, and it's awesome to help a friend in need.
Dave, that was amazing on multiples of levels, first lets start with your attitude to your friends, thats inspiring and clearly not commercial its real and came across as such, your willingness to take your helicopter to a very unsafe place to rescue a friend, I'm telling you dude, inspiring, second - that slow manoeuvre to land, YES! I live right next to a Naval Heliport in Cornwall UK, and I've not seen anything better than yours, well done....
I don’t watch UA-cam for “perfect.” I watch it for human stuff. Unique stuff. Nerdy stuff. Stuff that would never make it onto regular TV.
This was great, please keep posting this sort of video! (I hope you post the one about the wrecked excavator, too! How did that happen?!)
Love how you're always willing to drop anything to help a friend in need, a true modern-day hero! Awesome video. I'm glad to see the new heli putting in some work!
It’s literally an advertisement for OnX. He likely just dropped them off and picked them up 😂
That was awesome!! Being able to help friends in need . Great landing and take off .
It was great to know the mountain’s view and this rescue! Also It was great to see the Dolphin ‘helicopter rescuing people again.
