different squash back then, its almost who makes the error ends the point, survival of the fittest type squash. the ball seems to sit up more and bounce around more to. Huge Geoff hunt fan though, his book is a must read.
I used to have this video but I lent it to someone who recorded over it!...I never forgave him. So it has been about thirty years since I have seen it. Many thanks for posting. I made it 137 strokes for the opening rally...need a lie down.
Thanks, I already did. I shall not forget standing on top of the front wall at Wembley looking down on Geoff and Qamar slugging it out in the previous year`s final. Great memories.
I remember seeing a video of Geoff Hunt vs Jahangir when I was at school in the 80s - one of them came back from 0-8 to win I think. I wonder if anyone has that.
I find it ironic that the only clip on youtube of eight times world champion, Geoff Hunt, a man whose record greatly eclipses that of Mohibullah`s, shows him losing!! Imagine that with Roger Federer on youtube!. But some of us remember what a champ you were, Geoff.
I really enjoyed seeing Geoff, high on my list of sporting heroes (that from a Pom). I have a betamax clip of Geoff v Jehangir but it`s getting it digitalised that`s the problem. I`ll try harder to make it happen if people nag me enough!
I was thinking the same thing... I love squash too and am just getting back into it for exercise. I think its a great game to play at my basic level but watching this rally, although a good demonstration of skill, wasn't that exciting. You just seem to be waiting for someone to make the first mistake as it seems so easy for both participants.
Sorry Josh... but its obvious that you dont have a clue as to what you are talking about. Have you ever played with the type of rackets that they used back then... it makes all the diffrence. They are less than half the size that is used today.
Thanks for posting this vid. Now I know why and how this game died...I love this game but from a spectator point of view, it's just too boring to watch two players slug it out in a rally that can last more than 5mins.
As much as I love playing squash, it is unfortunately not suited for TV because it is so hard to see the ball. Even though it is fitness-wise one of the most difficult or the most difficult sport to play of all the racket sports,it is also unfortunately also not suited for the Olympics because you cannot have enough stadium seating to accommodate a significant enough audience
@Leon Maliniak, your points are moot. TV resolution and the white ball have solved your first statement. How do you think other Olympic sports cope with seating for badminton or any other indoor sport? Think on...

Great video! Thanks for posting this.
Thank you v much . A very rare and wonderful video of the era . More convince Hunt would likely have stood well even with current best players .

I tried playing with those small wooden racquets for fun...bloody nightmare.. which attests to the skill of these players
Thanks, I already did.

Great memories.
Geoff hunt was always a genius of the squash court. As I was playing in the 80s . He was a champion
Thanks for posting this old clip, Mohibullah unfortunately was an arrogant sob............ Hunt was the complete opposite.
Wow that first rally was a monster!!
This bloke is one of the greatest sportsman Australia has had and the fittest I'd say.

Very skilful game mate . Have to be extremely fit. Geoff Hunt is one of Australia's greatest sportsman.

Childish comment, and complete bullshit.
Five years ago ! But still the bullshitest comment to date.
Are you joking?
If you insist, Ramy fan boy.
Absolute nonsense.
