  • I fell in love with this tufted headboard until I saw that the headboard was $400 dollars! Thanks but no thanks, I can make it myself. I want the headboard to be lightweight so I would feel safe with mounting the headboard to my wall. This whole headboard costed me $26 dollars! You can’t beat that AND its customized by you! I hope that you like this video and find it helpful!

Finally! No wood! No drill! Not all that complicated stuff that I don't have a clue about! And easy set up? Girl, I just hit the jackpot lol.

I watched this some time last year and thumbed it up, but couldn't remember having view it. Rewatching it today made me remember why! This is simply the most cost-effective, customizable, least time-consuming DIY tufting headboard project on all of UA-cam. Thank you so much!

Out of all the DIY videos I've watched for headboards, this was my favorite because it seem pretty easy and inexpensive. The headboard itself looks great and doesn't look cheap or flimsy at all. I love doing crafts and can't wait to try this project out. You really rock!!! :) It's such a blessing that you share your talent with the world. Hope you continue to make videos on new ideas.

I think I'll add a 1-inch thick piece of foam under the batting to give the headboard more dimension. I'd like it to be "puffier" so that when I insert the buttons, it will create some pleating or gathering. Thanks for the vid. I love that you don't have to attach hardware to the wall.

Ohhh myyyy gosh (in my Usher voice)!!!!!!! This has by far been the greatest DIY of life!!!! This is very cost efficient for college students who don't like to be basic & want to bring some elegance to their interior design!!!! Yessssssss!!!! $26? I'm down for the cause! You're a genius!!! Thank you for saving my wallet lol. 💕

Saw this, was inspired, bought stuff, and .....made my son a blue canvas headboard with same size as yours for full xl to take with him to college next weekend. It was AWESOME!!! we didnt use buttons bc they were way more expensive than I wanted to spend. My husband even loved it. Thank you so much.

What a great idea! I'm looking at selling my house and my real estate agent suggested a headboard. Not only do I NOT have hundreds of dollars to spare, but my walls are not all that strong (old plaster & lathe) so this sounds like a fabulous idea. Also, most of these DIY projects call for a lot of tools I don't own - but I've got a hot glue gun. Thanks for the inspiration!

This could be used as the foundation for a more solid headboard too. Glue or velcro the fabric foam core to a thick frame of wood or plywood (or both), then attach it to your bed frame (after attaching the frame to posts of course). It's also good for making an ottoman too! Thanks for the great idea! I've been wanting to do this but wanted something thicker and more solid. Thanks for getting the creativity flowing!

Omg! So glad I read the comments b/c I was going to do this but get some particle board or ply wood or something for the back so I could actually lean on it and was wondering how to do it i could just nail the wood onto the wall then velcro the other part onto it! Genius suggestions thanks!

I wanted not for a headboard, but behind my tv with crystal buttons for my feature wall. I had previously purchased some very good material to make cushions and then I said to myself i have a lots of cushions why not a tufted background? I have asked for quotes and m gobsmacked with the prices. THANK YOU for making it easy. I will sew on the crystal button before I stick the foam to the wood, as mine is going to be in wood as it will have a shelf on top of it, to befit a lounge, not a bedroom. Well done. When ready I will upload a photo thanks to your idea now all I need is to buy the foam!! from Malta

Wow I love this video. I finished mine yesterday. So glad I didn't have to deal with all the drilling and nails. The only thing I did different was add pieces of cardboard from a box in the areas where I put the command strips, so that the headboard could be a flat surface on the wall because we like to lean.

But your idea of using the comom tapes is wonderful.
