  • In this video, I will show you how to use the new Scalable Dashboard feature in SharpTools. This will allow you to lock your SharpTools Dashboard width to a set width so they will auto-scale to the set width on any device. The larger device the larger the tiles will get, the smaller the device the smaller the tiles will get.
    This is a great feature and makes editing dashboards easy on any device and it will NOT reflow your dashboards creating issues on other devices changing the layout of your SharpTools Dashboards. If you have existing SharpTools dashboards you will want to edit them to the fixed width and create all-new SharpTools Dashboards using the scalable feature.

    ▶ SharpTools Dashboards: sharptools.io/
    ▶ Save on SharpTools: sharptools.io/...

    That is a awesome new feature Justin. Nice find. I applied this configuration to my SmartThings dashboard. Thumbs Up!

      Guys I’m new to this how do I apply this to SmartThings? I have an old iPad I want to leave in on all the time to have access to all my devices

      Just set-up a SharpTools account and link your SmartThings. After that check out my SharpTools playlist!

    What do you do about the smart devies that don't work with smartthings? I have 90% of my home in Smartthings but there are a few things that are not such as Aprilaire thermostats and iDevice light switches that came with my newbuild home.

      If you can connect them to Alexa you can create a virtual switch using an Alexa Routine. I have a video on how to control any device that is Alexa compatible with SmartThings they you should checkout!

      @@SimplySmart123 Any solution for Google Home users? I'm completely in the Google ecosystem.

      Unfortunately Google only allows you to start a routine using your voice, time or sunrise and set so it’s not really possible :(

    My biggest problem with these dashboards has been my TP-Link Kasa devices. I can turn them on and off easily from the dashboard itself, but I usually control them from Alexa and then the dashboards do not update. Any idea what would cause that?

      Are these devices added to SmartThings and if so are they showing the correct status in SmartThings? Also be sure that you only have them added one time in Aleax and preferably through SmartThings.

      @@SimplySmart123 Hmmm, they are in Smartthings, and I notice that changes to these devices in Smartthings and Sharptools do update the other one. But a change made by Alexa is not reflected in either Smartthings or Sharptools. It does look like Alexa is going to the TP-Link skill and not Smartthings... this might have happened when I was converting over to the new Smartthings app or skill.

      Seems worth an experiment. any idea how to add a single Smartthings device to Alexa after its all been set up? Usually Alexa just sees those devices if I add a new one, but in this case I probably deleted the Smartthings versions of these devices- I remember having a bunch of duplicates. Maybe I’ll just try deleting one from Smartthings and then adding it back in.. what’s the worst that could happen :)

    • @SimplySmart123
      @SimplySmart123  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I would delete the Skill from Alexa. I bet there are duplicates.

      Yeah I think that is the right approach. Worst thing is automations get broken.
