- Did you know that in fruits and veggies different colors represent different antioxidants? Black Nebula Carrots are super rich in anthocyanin, Kyoto Red Carrots contain Lycopene, Amarillo carrots are beaming with the antioxidant zeaxanthin and Cosmic Purple carrots with their orange core are a great source of beta carotene!
Exactly why you're supposed to *eat a rainbow*
The more colors in the fruits and vegetables you eat, the more nutrient dense they are.
The rainbow 🌈 DOES lead to a pot of gold, that gold being the health benefits from eating such nutritious foods.
Ok calm down lmao.No wander I couldn’t find that pot of gold that leprechaun hid behind the rainbow it was my good health all along.Lmao
Anything that is dark purple, or deep red or purple, is a REALLY good veggie or grass that contains the most anthocyanins ... these help boost your immune system for a fact. The best wheat grass or veggie is usually always the dark purple veggie.
Wow! That was a really long video!
I don’t have the Kyoto yet!! But I have the others!!
I feel like I’m “chomping at the bit” to get planting this year 🤣🤣🤣
Just planted 3 of the 4 varieties: Cosmic Purple, Kyoto Red, and Amarillo.
Thanks for profiling these varieties. Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA
My eyes are drooling over my phone but it's too late for this season. I'll definitely grow a nice rainbow carrots next fall and winter. Carrots and garlics are my daily doses. 😂
Didn't know there were purple and yellow carrot varieties
Rabbits ate my carrots. Glad somethin benefitted :)
I ate those at my house
Are you guys gonna do more videos? It's been a month.
Aww, we are missed! We've been working on other projects, but we do have videos in the works that will be released soon. Thanks so much!
💚👍
I bought the longue rouge sang carrot from your site because it looks like it has all of the aforementioned antioxidants. Can you confirm or deny this?
An independent lab has been doing some ongoing nutritional studies on many of our varieties that we offer. We plan to publish this info soon. Stay tuned to heriloomseeds.com!
I grow and eat rainbow carrots all the time
I forgot to order my Parisienne carrots and saw it would take a month to get here. I zone 9a, a month makes a lot of difference. Maybe I will get some for the fall.
I have ordered seeds and it did not take a month. Couple weeks at most as usual
I think they are just giving people a heads up because the postal service is having a hard time lately too.
The order lines at Baker creek are operating 24 hours a day. I’ve gotten notifications in the middle of the night of my order being shipped.
I think it’s worth a try in my opinion ❤️❤️❤️
@@masuganut2082 because of the fear of food shortage that the virus has brought about, all seed companies, including Baker Creek, are experiencing significant delays and shortages. Last year, most seed companies, had sold out of nearly every seed in inventory. This year, even in December, many months before planting time in my zone five, Baker Creek was already out of several varieties they normally have significant supply of. The extended time periods are not because of staffing shortage, it is directly caused by supply shortage. They have to get the inventory in before they can ship it out. I have joined the wait list for several seed types that in prior years have always been in stock. There are notes on some that all inventory is sold out for the 2021 season. For me, the growing season doesn't start until June and inventory is already depleted
I ordered from Gary @ The Rusted Garden Homestead. It took about a week. But, he is getting low on a lot of seeds.
@@shirleyk623 I'm not familiar with the rusted homestead but I'm not surprised they are low on seeds. Many seed companies are completely sold out for the 2021 season already.
@@lisal8529 You are correct, however I was at Lowe's today and they had racks of Ferry Morse and Burpee seeds. Maybe you could try there. Good luck.
