This is good bc everyone watching the videos are not apostolic, like me. Some may not be Christian. And some may believe in Jesus but struggle with same-sex sexual desires and want biblical answers. This is also a great video to share with others who may ask you.

Just a suggestion for this channel because I know it’s such a help many who watch it. You should have somewhere in the video that asks for questions that people want answered. The comments that get a lot of likes may be good material to be covered in future videos. Just a suggestion, love this podcast.

@@DavidKBernardUPCI For me personally, I think you’ve covered lots of great topics already. *I more just wanted to make the suggestion of having a clear call to action, maybe before the actual conversation begins,* to encourage people to leave questions to about what they want to know most.
It’s sort of a win-win. People get the answers to questions they want most, and it helps the podcast to be seen more.

My question is why is the Catholic church prohibiting marriage for priests but blessing ss marriage?

    • @realmccoy124
      @realmccoy124 11 місяців тому +1

Hey Music - so at the moment, I don’t believe the current pope has blessed ‘marriage’… but ‘union’… and a lot of RC folks are shocked by this latest of controversial actions.
A lot of Trad Catholics - are looking for a safe place to call their spiritual home - I know a few of them are moving to Byzantine Catholics and other similar groups. Because they fear what’s next: actual endorsement for the sacrament of marriage.
I am an Orthodox Christian - and we will not deviate from the Church’s understanding of Marriage - we won’t entertain any notion of same-sex union or marriage.
Historically, the Church has always permitted men to marry before their ordination (Reader / Deacon / Priest). He is to remain unmarried if he is ordained a deacon… and hasn’t married before then). Also, if the priest’s wife dies before him - he cannot remarry.
As for the Roman Church - who innovated from the True Faith - required their priests to remain unmarried and celibate. I think that was done by a Pope Leo (the 9th???).
As for an Orthodox view - a priest cannot bless evil. If anyone is willfully living outside the teachings of the Church, and have not repented and participated in the Mystery of Confession - their own actions have alienated them from the Faith. Every Orthodox Christian is to maintain a proper ‘state of grace’ - through continual evaluation of one’s actions and turning away from unedifying works of darkness. Failure to do so - places one’s soul in jeopardy.
I do not think the RC here in modernity have this same teaching.
      Hope this helps.

To answer your question simply, no.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:27: And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.
We are gifted unlimited access to forgiveness while we walk this earth, so it is our responsibility to use those opportunities to obtain salvation while alive. Nowhere in the word of God does it say or even hint at being able to save those that have passed. It also does not speak on being able to acquire salvation for others. We can only truly receive salvation for ourselves and it is up to others to come to the realization of their own personal need for salvation and act upon it. There is quite a bit of evidence for that throughout the word of God.
      I hope this helps.

Brother Bernard, I’ve come across the argument that the Bible has been mistranslated and whitewashed by people throughout the ages. There are so many different interpretations and ways to read the Bible. How would you show people that it is the infallible word of God and that despite the translations through the ages, it is still the true word of God?

  • @kiaramurray832

We have to live by the word of God. Not by pleasing man. We cannot change his word. I’m sorry but this should not be supported by any church. We all know in the last days those of us who follow God will be persecuted for it as Jesus was but we must remain standstill but God has us always when we follow His word.

The Bible's comprehensive message concerning homosexuality describes it among the works of sin as being especially abhorrent and warranting from God short patience and extreme judgement. It is both understandable and natural that this tone from God is expressed through his church (Rom. 12:9 "...abhor that which is evil..."). Homosexual "marriage", a mockery to God, is even more of a vile abomination.

The same-sex couple ‘blessing’ causes a number of questions.
Why is it couple blessing if “People are blessed; not the union”?
What is a homosexual couple seeking by asking for a blessing?
What is the Church offering in response?
What is the Holy Spirit called for and what is exactly being blessed?
What is a spiritual purpose of such a ‘blessing’ and what sort of a particular help it intends to provide?
Love and acceptance can make miracles of soul transformation, and Pope Francis' vision on the same-sex unions seems to be about love and acceptance. Yet, the same-sex couple blessing would make sense if the Church dumps viewing the same-sex relationship per ser as a sin. Without that, such a 'blessing' appears conflicting and self-contradictory.
The entire issue of the homosexuality as such and the sin does not look straightforward at all.
For example, some people refer to Leviticus 20:13: "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them". Does this mean that about 4% of human population should be now "put to death"? Would it be a proclaimed Christian way of love and acceptance? Would it be compatible with the words of our Lord: "Let He Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Stone" (John 8:7)?
Apostle Paul in 1 Cor 6:9,10 was talking specifically about "men who have sex with men" with the intention to just satisfy their lust, but said nothing about homosexuality as such.
The Holy Scripture condemns sexual lust in all its appearances - ‘traditional’ and ‘pervert’, but says nothing at all specifically about homosexuality and same sex people, who want to live together in love and faith.
Nevertheless, this unlikely defends the incompatibility of the same-sex couple blessing with the current Church doctrines and policies.
    Faithfully yours,
    bishop Vincent Berg.

When I saw this in my notifications, I thought are we seriously having to discuss this in the UPCI? Of course God doesn't bless such unholy unions. I would dare say that this would be one case were we should be advocating for "divorce" and doing what we can to split people up.

It's very disturbing that you refer to what Jude speaks of in his epistle, which is a callback to the gang-rape described in Genesis, as a "same-sex relationship." This is dangerously close to bearing false witness against every same-sex married couple across this country who are as disgusted with the behavior described in Genesis as you are, to equate their relationships with that disturbing story.

Nobody was married in biblical times. Marriage is a LEGAL institution that didn't exist back then, but came much later. Marriage was created by the state, not by God.
