    Dear John,
    It's hard to reconcile the fact that what represented the cutting edge of aviation technology back then gave the pilot a seat that was (possibly) reminiscent of a bath chair!
    Having said all that, the result is magnificent so far- the woodgraining is so good that I may now use on the Corsair, (just for a bit of fun maybe)!!
    I will tune in on the rest of the project!
    Regards,
    Z

      @johnalecsscalemodeling I try to collect any build information from respected modellers before I start.I thought that your step by step approach to the cockpit was very instructive. 👍

    stunning detail painting on that cockpit, it's a real shame that most of it is hidden.

      You're right James, like 90% of it. But, I might as well get my monies worth LOL and model it up. Thanks for watching.

    Hi John, very informative and helpful video. I'm just starting on this kit which I bought when I was visiting the Shuttleworth Collection....fabulous place! When can we look forward to next installment? Thanks again for this 👍

      @johnalecsscalemodeling  Місяць тому

      Hiya Andrew - thanks for watching and sorry for the delay. The fit on this kit is a dog. I'm actually really far along but I keep having to put it aside as it is quite frustrating to assemble and rig at the end. Cheers

    @danmeehan1390 11 місяців тому

    The rigging looks like a rat's nest, lol. I'm sure it will look great when you're done. Looks good John

      Haha thanks Dan. Yeah, I used the wrong wire it didn't go taut. I have good stuff on the way. Cheers

    Hi John, it would appear that UA-cam switched my bell off!, but found this anyhow, nice start, are you using elastic rigging wire? you may fine fishing wire easier to keep taught

    • @johnalecsscalemodeling
      @johnalecsscalemodeling  11 місяців тому

      Hiya Jason, yeah YT is screwy. I get notifications like the next day. I used fly tying wire, not fishing wire, but I will use EZ line from now on. The fly tying wire is sturdy, but doesn't stretch. Wrong wire for the job. Thanks for watching!

    • @ModelkitStuff
      @ModelkitStuff 11 місяців тому

      @@johnalecsscalemodeling ex wire is hard to terminate so do some practice first personally i stoped using it

    • @johnalecsscalemodeling
      @johnalecsscalemodeling  11 місяців тому

      What exactly do you use? I'll try it. @@ModelkitStuff

    • @ModelkitStuff
      @ModelkitStuff 11 місяців тому

      I use fishing line but I use turnbuckles. your best method is to make stretched sprue or buy some fine plastic rod so you can cut to length and glue in easily@@johnalecsscalemodeling
