  • I went completely analog. I even went completely true bypass (except a false “true bypass”, thanks to Amazon)
What are my thoughts you ask? Well here’s my two cents.
    What do YOU think?

You have to go down the route your following to realise where you are going.
Try it all .. see which stuff you prefer.
I’ve had Tube amps, SS amps , modelling units , I’ve gone back and forth , back and forth.
You learn a hell of a lot on the journey anyways and it can be super interesting and fun.

Wow, great response. I could t have said that better myself. 👏
      Thank you for that!
Where do you currently fall into these days with gear? All of the above? 😂

@@frusciantegeartone my life is in quite a hectic place so I’ve made a few changes recently that I’ve been thinking about for about half year.
I had a quad cortex amp modelling multi fx unit with a pair of monitors setup in my lounge, i’m really struggling to play consistently currently and I just couldn’t justify such expensive equipment sat around not doing much, not to mention only using about 10% of its capabilities, so i sold it and went back to part of my setup from a few years back.
It’s worth mentioning that during my time with the quad cortex I achieved the best frusciante tones I’ve ever had, being able to replicate the majority of the signal chain and fx placements with its capturing technology of amps and drive pedals mixed with a few already owned external pedals I’ve had for years. I had a marshall jubilee and past fx ce1 clone that a captured and used alongside a capture of a plexi with kt66 power tubes and i made all my patched for RHCP around those captures.
However I’m done nailing tones of bands to the 100% has to be identical….and I think getting in the ball park for a band or guitarist is where I will kinda dither now. One thing I do want to continue though is a wet/dry\wet rig and I have my eye on a few cheap stereo SS amps that will help me do this. I mean a snagged my latest katana artist for a bargain , my only gripe with the katana is having to go into the computer to mess with the eq and dial in base tones to really get the approximation of an amp im trying to replicate.
Luckily that’s not too many, I mainly gravitate to a marshall sound so I kinda will use the katana artist as an amp that can model say 3-5 other amps that i otherwise go for ….when I snag the next marshall SS I’m looking at I’ll probably have most of my basis covered .. I’m using a couple of drive n fuzz pedals upfront because in my opinion and experience with any of the digital models of drive n fuzz , sometimes they get the tone but like amp modelling not so much necessarily the feel.. however you can use your modellers into amp fx returns which can sound and feel pretty awesome.
So where do I fall? Yea pretty much within a mix of above.
I’ll be using physical drive and fuzz pedals into 2 amps … 1 amp will be completely used with dry fx. The other amp which will have the option of a stereo fx return so I’m going to plug a hx fx into it so I can use all kinds of wet fx in stereo. I’ve done something similar before and it felt like home then, it was just messy with lots of cables and I just thought at the time getting a quad cortex would be and actually was more tidy and an all in one unit.. I just miss playing through amps really.
Like I’ve said in past years I’ve had about 3 or 4 tube amps , single cabs , 4x12 cabs a couple of different solid state amps and modelling amps , some of the latest multi fx and amp modelling that’s come around lately.
It’s not always about which is the best gear.. it’s more about what set up is best for you…. and I’m hoping things will calm down in my life so I can enjoy the set up I’m going for currently. 🤣
All that being said , when my 4 kids move out .. I’m definitely getting that jubilee back with a 4x12 🤣🤣🤣

@@attillal4821 that’s incredible man. I think I may understand you on the kids and circumstances. One of my kids finally moved out to college and now I have my music room back to where I can enjoy music again and all this madness. 😂
I’m praying things get better for you so you can enjoy yourself playing music, and geeking out over gear. Let the OCD get crazy! 😂 Hope you get that jubilee back too!
This year I’m hoping to get a helix floor, finding a better way to record my videos other than my iPhone 😂, and possibly a new cheap strat, maybe even a tele build again. I enjoyed the last build but will definitely use better pickups and tuners this time around.
I would love to see your progress. It sounds overwhelming but incredible. Probably a lot of work but people would definitely watch that content. ✌️

Hmm not sure I’ve ever put to much thought to content. My guitar playing in sloppy at best 😂… that comes from inconsistency and lack of dedicated practice …. I do have a passion for messing and tinkering with fx and amps though.
I’ll be keeping a close eye on your content as always.
