    ABOUT TIK 📝
History isn’t as boring as some people think, and my goal is to get people talking about it. I also want to dispel the myths and distortions that ruin our perception of the past by asking a simple question - “But is this really the case?”. I have a 2:1 Degree in History and a passion for early 20th Century conflicts (mainly WW2). I’m therefore approaching this like I would an academic essay. Lots of sources, quotes, references and so on. Only the truth will do.

    (1) Battlestorm Gazala will be out next Monday, 20th May 2024 (or another day that week if there’s unforeseen problems in the meantime).
    (2) This video has been “Limited” by the Google Archipelago. Thanks UA-cam Gestapo!
    (3) The fact that the modern United Kingdom looks very similar to the Third Reich is not just “a coincidence”. Paying people to be “victims”, paying them not to work, or putting a uniform on the unemployed and calling them “government”, is nothing more than financially incentivising degeneracy. Altruism is a race to the bottom, and this is just one reason why I’m not an advocate for the welfare state.
The other reason I’m against the welfare state is because socialism doesn’t work. It doesn’t work thanks to what’s known as the “knowledge problem” and the “Socialist Economic Calculation Problem”. Watch this short video (6 mins) by Learn Liberty which explains the problem ua-cam.com/video/zkPGfTEZ_r4/v-deo.htmlsi=Zgj-dbhZABhjERJx
I also explain this problem in my video on German logistics ua-cam.com/video/1Oc_lFmp6vQ/v-deo.html (32 mins)

It’s kinda similar to when I read that William Pelley was “Far-Right” by historians and political analysts.
Yes, the man was racist, and yes he wanted to reorder America into a “Christian Commonwealth”(though Pelley’s “Christianity” was anything but orthodox in nature) but when you get into his actual economic policies and ideas… nationalizing all industry, a national income for Americans(provided they were they right race), a cap on private earnings, all currency having a expiration date to prevent accumulation of wealth, and so and so forth… if you remove at least the race stuff this “Far-Right” figure becomes a darling socialist that every leftist in America would praise for his “progressive” views on the economy and welfare.

@@KingBuilder525 mmm yee but not really even... That's more strategy, or later adjunct. Less deeply seated for most of their ideology. Marxism was racist and the Soviets used national struggles as a way to garner support overseas. Same applies with many of the anarchists.
Unfortunately, the theists and the conservatives, which could be considered culturally "right" in the older sense rather than being capitalist, for their religious and sometimes pro-monarchical views, are not without blame either. They gathered around "faith" in the supernatural and their standards change by their theologians whims. As such, they could just as well, one day, be either the monarchists, or the nazis (or the fascists) they get accused of being.

Volkswagen celebrated their 75th not long ago. Wolfsburg isn't far from here. The entire region basically only exists because VW does as the nexus of all industries and other high tech companies operating in its orbit. They even held the celebration in that ancient first building of red bricks... But guess what: Normally you'd talk about the founding story of your company/corporation at such a milestone event... but somehow nobody dropped a single word about that. Some of the people who were present (this region is a like a giant village), said it was a very odd athmosphere, because there's this obvious topic that everybody has on their minds but nobody mentions. It's like a big joke that everybody sees, but it's not a funny one.

Tidbit: "From Cradle to Grave" is an old bad translation of an even older German saying. The original goes "From Cradle to Bier" (Von der Wiege bis zur Bahre). Because those are the correct antonyms. The inverse to "From Cradle to Grave" would be "From Womb to Bier", to illustrate how much less sense that makes. The Cradle is to the Bier what the Womb is to the Grave.
I remember from TIK's eugenics video that the guy coined for "inventing" the phrase was one of those pseudo-intellectual weirdos high on himself, so no wonder he mistranslated it. It's a pity the wrong version got stuck in the English language because that midwit. The line is centuries older.

This is not totally related to the videos topic, but it’s funny to point out the excerpt at 11:00. It’s such a stereotypical thing for a socialist state to do, “Here workers, are your great facilities mandated by the state! Aren’t you grateful for living in a socialist state.” Meanwhile no one wanted it, or asked for it, and it was simply mandated by an out of touch bureaucrat official. But socialists will still somehow cry that it wasn’t REAL socialism, and that they themselves would have somehow known the complex needs of millions of individuals, and that they would “actually” know the needs of the workers. You need to do an in-depth vid on the Strasserist branch of Nazism and compare it to the other side. I find it interesting how people claim that the Strasserists were the "actual socialist" branch of Nazism but Strasserists weren't Marxists just like the Hitler branch of NS weren't Marxists either. By saying what they are claiming about Strasserism they are essentially acknowledging that you can have a non-Marxist variant of Socialism. Hitler's side was just not as radical when it came to economic views compared to the Strasserists.

You kept in mind, that TIK is a stauch anarcho-capitalist? He has some extreme views, evry bit of state intervention is socialist and even publicly traded companies to him are just one step away from state owned.
So yeah, be careful with using TIKs videos as a basis for class assignments, use a variety of up to date sources, google the authors, check/state your definitions and stay neutral. The last one is importatnt, no "I think the nazis where socialist and thats why ..." rather "According to this definiton of socialism by Soandso, the Nazis were socialists. This is supported by this part of their ideology and these actions they took."
This is way more effort but it will actually result in a logically consistent argument.
That's one part I think TIK misses when calssifying the Nazis as socialist. His definition of socialism is rather uncomon and broad. His argument is enssentially, it looks like other authoritarian countries that claim to be socialist to me therefor their socialist. His argument's why they can't be capitalist are valid though.

    A quote for you:
"... the so called ‘Technical emergency aid’ to the post office, the police and the railways; tasks for the army (messenger, goods loading, nursing and telephone service, etc.); factory and labour squads; collecting salvage and old clothes; farm and harvest work; National Socialist National Welfare service and cultural work. A great number of these tasks were performed by girls. The effect of this Hitler Youth work on the war economy should not be underestimated: in 1942, for example, 600,000 boys and 1,400,000 girls helped with the harvest..."

    • @night6724
      @night6724 22 дні тому

@@TheImperatorKnight He even pulls out Germa Bel’s article as the smoking gun of privatization. It is basically a copy of every champagne socialist argument
I believe this especially has been promoted by socialist propagandist Ishay Landa who gave the same talking points. This was an excerpt from an article he wrote for Jacobin
“Right-wingers love to insist that members of Adolf Hitler’s party were socialists. But Nazism’s real economic policies upheld hypercapitalist principles rooted in social Darwinist ideas about the value of human life. They weren’t socialists at all.”
He also essentially played the claimed national socialism is capitalism in decay argument
“They were strongly capitalist. The Nazis placed great emphasis on private property and free competition. It’s true that they intervened in the free market, but it was also a time of a systemic failure of capitalism on a global scale. Almost all states intervened in the market at the time, and they did so to save the capitalist system from itself. This has nothing to do with socialist sentiment: it was pro-capitalist. In a way, there’s a parallel there with the way big banks were bailed out by governments after the 2008 financial crisis broke out. That, of course, did not reflect socialist intentions in any way, either. It was merely an attempt to stabilize the system a little bit.”
They emphasized private property except for when they stripped everyone of their right to property and competition except for when they consolidated businesses into conglomerates to better control them. And of course he blamed the boom bust cycle and great depression on capitalism when in reality they were caused by state intervention via the Dawes Plan which saw the US loan money to Germany. He also ignored Hitler continued these interventionist policies after an economic recovery, sometimes doubling down on them.
Reading more about this Landa guy, who also claimed Oswald Spranger was not a “real socialist” his idea of socialism is when the workers only work 3 days a week, get free stuff and there is sunshine and rainbows every day.

Keynesianism is more akin to FDRs New Deal which was a whole other box of nails. Hitler's economy was just an eclectic mix of corporatism, medieval guild system, planned economy and to an extent - state capitalism, all fueled by robbery and plundering of annexed and conquered territories.

Hey TIK, I have a question that I wanted to ask about your content. I can appreciate the WW2 content you put out there for people to watch, however, what I would like to learn more about is WW1 (I’m not going to call it “the war to end all wars” because that’s not how nations and wars work and seeing how in a few years, wars are still happening like Russian Civil War, Irish Civil War, Greco-Turkish War, Spanish Rif War, etc. And in a couple decades, WW2 starts, so much for the so called “war to end all wars.” I’ll just called it the Great War or the First World War or World War 1 because these terms makes more sense to me). Would you do WW1 videos for your channel besides WW2? I’m not asking you to do Battlestorm Verdun or Battlestorm Gallipoli, these series would take forever to make because these battles are 9-10 months in length and seeing Battlestorm Stalingrad’s length and the amount of time it takes for you to make them, these new series ideas are dead on arrival. But for specific topic videos such as Nationalism, Militarism, Scramble for Africa, Boxer Rebellion in China, etc. These are the videos that I would like to see more of. There are plenty of videos that we can go over unstop, but I keep it brief just for you to have an idea. Other than that, that’s it. Tell me what you think about this?

Wealth inequality fell in Germany during the National Socialists' rule. In 1929 the top 1% held 42% of the wealth. By 1940 is was 29%. Some of this is attributed to the Depression, but the wealth disparity continued to fall after the NSDAP opened the spending floodgates. In comparison to its peers UK, US, Sweden, and France, Germany's 1% held the lowest per cent of national wealth. In Germany's history since 1895 the two largest declines in their wealth occurred from 1915 to 1924, then rebounded greatly, and from '29 onwards.
