Ironically...this song occurs in the reverse castlevania...which is more evil than its original counterpart and yet this song is more beautiful than what the castle transpire... I know it doesn't make sense but that's how I feel about that song.
I don't even play Castlevania and I've been listening to this on repeat for the last few days, especially at work. I watched the Netflix series and loved the dark fantasy aspect originating from the games. Thought I could appreciate it more by listening to some of the games' music. Maaaa nigga, i highly recommend that you check out Bloodstained because it's Castlevanias spiritual successor made by the people that made Castlevania what it was before Konami spit on the series and abandoned it. You gonna love it!!

5:44 Rainbow Cemetery, it has one of the best vibes out there. The ammount of variety in this OST is what makes this game so unique, we didn't had such range of genres since Super Castlevania IV
i never played the games as a kid (i, however, really love the netflix series) but for some reason this music is so nostalgic. i'm infatuated with the feelings it gives me to listen to it.
The Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a good start for the really oldschool side scrollers. If you choose to play it, seek out the manuals online. Couldn't put much story on those old cartridges. Castlevania III is chronologically the beginning, and you'll notice a lot of elements from the show. However, most of the plot is in the manual. They did a great job fleshing it out in the show. If you have a PS4, Castlevania Requiem is a great starting point. Two of the best in the series with enhanced graphics and better (some prefer the wonky original translation for Symphony of The Night, it does have a charm to it. The new translation is less campy) translation. Symphony of the Night is where the series transition into the Metroidvania style. Glad you're enjoying the show. It's beyond anything I expected, a true passion project.

Completely forgot about Lament of Innocence, which is like the 9th ( don't quote me on that) game released, but the first canonically, Castlevania III is technically the second canonically in the original series. I suggest you find a timeline if you want to play them chronologically, or by year of release.

I'm nearly 40 now and have played games since I was 5. When all is said and done SOTN is my favorite game of all time and it has my favorite soundtrack of all time. I remember it didn't blow my mind when it was released. It's when 3D was very exciting. Mario 64 just came out and shocked us all. But I go back to SOTN once a year STILL. Some games just have that magic.

MAN, Rainbow Cemetery has to be the most appropriate theme I've ever heard in any Castlevania, that initial opening exhumes a sense of "you're not supposed to be here", then it evolves into diving deeper into the mouth of madness with the occasional piano break (which always reminded me of those almost out of place shrine rooms with sword pickups). I had wished this level never ended as it was such a varied map with such a neat pile of secrets. :)
Because of Castlevania, I'm making a huge attempt to learn how to play the violin. Somehow I want to interpret Dracula's loneliness (based on the Netflix series), also the pain Alucard keeps and Isaac's loyalty to his master. Somehow, all of that brings me several feelings that I'd really like to interpret, I feel like those characters deserve a tribute.

When i was young, my dad bought me a DS with one of those SD cards that had hundreds of games on them and i remember playing through the castlevania titles that were on there (Dawn, Ecclesia and Portrait) and i'd play any other title through emulators on my pc and... damn, this really made me happy :^)

When i was young, my dad bought me a DS with one of those SD cards that had hundreds of games on them and i remember playing through the castlevania titles that were on there (Dawn, Ecclesia and Portrait) and i'd play any other title through emulators on my pc and... damn, this really made me happy :^)

what a shame it gives me to know that Castlevania Curse of Darkness is for me, one of the best Castlevanias and that its soundtracks are beautiful, and that nowhere it appears: ')
