Now that I'm in my 70's I only have time for quality, and THIS is quality!
I am in my 70’s and I feel the same way.
I was seven years old when my parents took us to a matinee performance of Carousel. Seven, I didn't want to go. I found the power of music then, this has remained one of my favourite songs. I'm 70 now and it still makes me cry.
I love this song. I am glad my parents exposed me to musicals. Because of that I started taking voice lessons and the professor claimed I was a soprano coloratura. Unfortunately he died and I did not find another teacher and it has been many years now. Today, I only sing in the shower, if ever.
Came for Josh, stayed for Audra.
Words can't describe just how beautiful this song and performance is. Stunning voices, endless waves of chills.
This by far is going to be his best album in 15 years! As much as he tries to reshape it, Josh Groban's voice hasn't changed much from baritone to low tenor. It seemed a matter of repertoire. He hit it out of the ball park this time picking the right songs within his range that truly showcases the warm timbre and color of his voice. He always wanted to sing music theatre and this album means he has finally come full circle from classical crossover to contemporary music theatre. A nice move for the next step which is to earn a spot on Broadway.
***** Couldn't agree more I've always loved Joshs voice but not most of his material I've been waiting for this a long time can't wait to buy the album and on Vinyl!

Are you certain you want to stand by that assertion? According to you, more recent stage musicals like Hamilton, Wicked, Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera have no real lyrics. What do you even mean by "real lyrics?"
@@julenefisher6265 I'm not familiar with Broadway shows of the last 40 years or so, but I do remember some pretty strange stuff, songs that didn't make much sense. I'm rather fond of popular music from the '60s and '70s, when lyrics told stories with great instrumental backing ("The Boxer," "I really Want to see You Tonight," "If you Could Read My Mind" and the follow-up "The Last Time I Saw Her Face," "Diamonds and Rust"---and lots more). I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong impression. Stay safe.

cheryl smith Yes, dahling, but this song, from Carousel, was first done in 1945, believe it or not. The movie dates from the 50's, I believe. Isn't it amazing that this great classic song sounds like it was written yesterday?
