Golf in France: Omaha Beach GC

December 2017: Next stop on the Golf in France Tour, Normandy Part 2. We played Omaha Beach GC, a historic track. Behind the 6th green on "La Mer" Course, the cliffs overlook the village of Port en Bessin on the English Channel, along with a War Memorial dedicated to the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the Battle of Normandy on D-Day (June 6, 1944). There is also a hidden underground German bunker that is accessible to the public. Omaha Beach was crucial to the American-led Allied assault against German forces, which ultimately forced them to retreat and resulted in the defeat of Hitler.
