If I understand correctly, one has to pay a total of 7750 USD for a 10 day horse trek? Really? Because this is what was written on the website you provided - "The price for the Gobi Gallop 2021 includes a $500 USD non refundable deposit, $3750 ride fee ( to be paid to Horse Trek Mongolia directly) and a requirement to raise a minimum $3,500 USD for Veloo Foundation." Isn't that a bit too much? Correct me if I am wrong.
Hi there, The trek you are mentioning is a lot different than this one. The Gobi Gallop is a charity ride. The whole point is to collect money (from riders and donators) to provide a better education to very poor children. Sure, it is a lot of money, but this is for a great cause ;)
Agreed. And a great cause. No doubt. But that I will never be able to do 😅 but yeah definitely will do a mongolia trip and meet the tribes and ride a horse and stay like 3 months there. I love being out in the wild and your video was awesome to push me even more
Most of our treks range between $2000 and $4000 for 9 - 14 days and all of the money stays in Mongolia and helps local Mongolians. The Gobi Gallop is different - it is the longest annual charity horseback ride on the planet as Dercour Duval Films has mentioned. Happy to say that in the 8 years we have been running it we have raised over $500,000 USD to build 2 kindergartens which feed, care for and educate over 300 disadvantaged Mongolian children every year.
@@veloofoundation You guys are doing an awesome job. I must say that. Really appreciable. I genuinely want to do this trip someday. From my current standpoint, I dont even have $200 in my bank account. hihi. Maybe someday I will have enough to do such a trip. I will make a film out of it. :)
@@pragyanbezbo You might be able to get by a little cheaper, but my country depends on tourism as it helps sustain the nomads. Although, be wary of tour agencies that exploit their "assets". You can rent a car, ride a bicycle, motorcycle, take the bus (cheapest option) and live amongst the nomads for fair fairs(sometimes you might be exploited). And you can rent your own horses (1-2) if you know how to ride and use precautions such as a helmet. Two horses, one for carrying most of your supplies. There are options you can explore when you arrive there or get in contact with me. Some of my family work in the tourist industry in Mongolia and even outside of the country as well.
