So many fine musicians have used this arrangement many moons ago and this style of antoine collin stays right up there with the great musicians Now let me tell you the first time I heard this was in 1946 was when the late great Charlie Ventura on tenor sax with gene krupa did this It stood out to me back then. and now goes to show you great arrangements and charts like this get better and better thank you for posting this one
The lead trumpet soloist (= Antoine Colin) is simply excellent. His attacks are accurate, his sustained notes are solid and clear, and his note cutoffs are very clean. His trumpet playing reminds me of Louis Dowdeswell, in the U. K.
Great playing Antoine!!!!
Thanks Jan!!
Can you post the your guest lead sheet plz
Formidable
Why ist the Name Horst Fischer in the title?
Because the version of the tune is inspired by Fischer's version with the Skymasters. Check it, outstanding record!
Horst played that many times, also for Dutch TV in 1961, composer:
Ernesto de Curtis
It is dangerus to play a piece like that and keep it so far from Horst Fisher and that arrangement....in MY oppinion!(at least if one know the version from HF)
