Great catch on the Genset! I;ve never seen it working , let alone on a mainline train! Too bad they are scrapping them all in the US ? An interesting idea but they are just too complicated. This looks like a top spot to visit? Cheers Gregg.
Yes, Fishplate, a nice spot. The NSW Hunter Valley has a lot of rail traffic and, with private operators, an amazing array of vintage and modern motive power. Those Gensets (only two of them) were in storage for a long time before being leased again to help with the wheat harvest traffic.
