Totally agree! It's not about generations it's just about 10s vs 20s trends. I'm a cusper born in 94 but I identify as a Millennial and I definitely wear both styles because like you said, we're just evolving our fashions with the times!
From a cusper between Gen X & Millennial, I gotta say ... Boots with chunky heels are 90s all the way. Not 2010s! Love your videos, girl. Stay young and cool :)
As an ‘94 girl I would def. consider myself a Millennial and remember all those 2010 trends you mentioned. But I would also argue that it’s more so Fashion trends changing than only about generational differences... (though we do def. have those ) bc what I think mostly when I see the Gen-Z trends is “OMG THAT is coming back in style??” 😂 (I also love this Emoji and if this make me old, so what, I don‘t mind). Fashion is mainly about re-inventing old ideas and finding new ways to combine them. The 80ies and 90ies have been coming back so heavily the past idk 6-7 years and now it‘s just getting more and more. But sometimes I feel like younger people don‘t realise this, claiming to have invented a style which then does bug me a little... I realise this makes me sound really old and probably this is what getting older feels like - having lived long enough to see things go out of style and come back into style again 😂😂 At the end of the day, this video showed me once again that I’m getting more and more comfortable doing my thing, not caring to follow all the new trends and quite honestly, being called „old“ by a 16 year old feels like a compliment in my book. Getting older is fun and I wanna embrace every bit of it 🤗🌿😂🙈🙆🏻♀️😝🙌🏻
I was born in 1988 and never hopped on the skinny jeans trend. It was always leggings for me. I found skinny jeans so uncomfortable. I still wear my leggings and my trapeze blouses like it's 2010 so maybe I'm a millennial I guess. I do own one pair of mom jeans and they are more comfortable than skinnies but I don't wear them as often as I wear my leggings.
Love your individual style Katie! But as a true GenXer, how bout some help? Let’s see a video where you style your mom so we get some inspiration on how to dress cool for middle age?!
I've in between the generations basically so I'm gonna just say this I mix both styles together because of my body type. I'd rather look good than spend a ton of money and be wasteful.
'91 millennial here. I didn't realize there even was a war between us and Gen z. I think Gen z are all wonderful! Of course, I always hated skinny jeans, so maybe that's why lol.
My most important thing is clothes need to fit the body correctly, neither too tight or baggy. The trend of baggy clothing at the moment just looks plain awful because the clothes just don’t fit well and Gen Z will realise this in a few years just as we did after the 90s. I am more into timeless style over trends these days anyhow as I don’t want to look like someone who’s in their mid thirties trying desperately hold on their youth by dressing like teenager.
When you mentioned buying small sunglasses before they became popular you instantly classified yourself. Congratulations you are a very young millennial. Also your reaction when someone said you look comfortable and how you asked if that meant you looked lazy.. your mindset is more millennialish lol Good video btw ( I’m a millennial)
Born in 88 here and these millennial looks are really off. You put the converse with the Gen z outfit. That should be a sin! Haha I think you are a gen z at heart ❤️
I’m gen z (21) but I violated every rule that makes you old:side part, skinny jeans, this emoji👉🏾😂. I don't think it really matters but I'm literally 21 Edit: I also remember buying my first pair of skinny jeans as a girl
You look great in all of the looks! 😊 But I think you look happier and more comfortable in the Gen Z ones. 👍 I was already thinking about buying a pastel coloured atleisure outfit, but now I'm completely convinced! Going to online shop right now! 😊 😊
On behalf of all women with endometriosis I would like to thank whomever decided Jeans should be cumfy and not just one style..I literally didn't wear jeans for a decade and can now-so my millennial tummy is thankful 😂
First I'll start by saying your a second year Gen Z, Millennials end in 94. Just by looking at this video, I'll say to me, you appear Gen Z aesthetic with a Millennial swing. Your mild butt sharp application of makeup, vivid metallic neutral colors in both makeup and hair give Gen Z edge with Millennial laid back sophistication. Your choice in a pastel, relaxed sweater with an edgy but modest knit is very Millennial comfort with Gen Z attitude. Your style is very Gen Z because of it's boldness through simplicity but you must have had a lot of Millennial friends in high school because you have our savvy culture written all over your precious generations aesthetic💖. I only watch the minute and a half of this so I'll finish the rest and see what is said. You're awesome by the way, love you so far💖💖💖
As a millennial who still doesn't understand this, tbh I've seen most of this war either done by the younger crowd (I mean, duh, who has the time to dedicate so many energies to something so futile as a generational war based on side parts?), so maybe teens vs twenty somethings? It also looks kind of one sided when most of the digs are ageist and aimed at women over 30 🙃 Personally my only beef with gen z is that they appropriated the hate for skinnies, when they were at height of fashion everyone hated them already 🤣 I just wish they would go away for good, they're still found in every store, even the trendier ones, and my fear is they'll make a come back with the goth style and low rise trends in a couple of years.
apparently we had brought back a few trends and millenials wanted gatekeep a few. then genz started calling millenials old, and millenials got angry, making songs and raps? dissing us ig, which made genz harass them more because we thought it was funny asf how millenials were so bothered.
I don't even know, the worst I've seen is either ageism towards older women, or 40 somethings wanting desperately to be seen as cool by 15-20 years olds, so they shit on every millennials on tik tok 😬I mean I can excuse a 15 kid but not a 40 adult cmon
I was born in 1992 so I very much identify as a millennial in my fashion choices and everything else in my life. You look more comfortable in the Gen Z clothes but since you were born in 1996, you’re considered a Zillennial
I'm a millennial and I support this new gen z trend fashion evolves and that's cool I love the new gen z fashion💟 I leterally wore gen z out fits when I was 16 tho😁😂
I’m a millennial too and honestly genZ is basically just wearing 90s clothes and thinking it’s a “new trend” and it’s not, every style being brought back now is just 90s millennial style.
This is so Ridiculous to me like there is no such thing as a millennial style or z style. Literally people of all ages wear whatever the hell they want. Don’t get me started on over assumption z not going for skinny jeans or millennials for it....as if you can’t walk into a high school today and not see a handful wearing it or as if you can’t find a tone of 28 year old who can care less for them. People wear what they want like fashion is not not based on arbitrary generational demographic labels lol(like that’s pretty straight forward) but just the individual person themselves lol.
I'm sorry but all the gen z looks are 90s looks which is basically just baby millennial looks. Thank God low cut jeans didn't make it back though😂 things recycle so much faster these days!
I think it's not just about time and trends. Some trends I see are definitely very geared towards younger people like teens or early 20s and they're definitely specifically meant for gen z. So many times I see youtubers' hauls and try ons and so many dresses and tops just looks so young and cute and not mature. Big and baggy is obviously something everyone can do, but those tiny pastel cutesy cropped stuff are gen z. Tbh you skipped a lot of trends
Lol the millennial sweater and jeans look is NOT what millennials are wearing currently AT ALL. It would be a short pointy toe black boot with skinny jeans and a turtleneck type baggy sweater. Also, the first look would probably be a black sweatshirt not a pink one… I also don’t think I’ve ever worn a blue Jean jacket over anything. No one including millennials are wearing bomber jackets rn. You are definitely gen z.
I honestly believe fashion is changing because the world is accepting body positivity more. If you’ve noticed what “gen z” wears is loose fitting compared to “millennials” wear.
The school kids are also not really gen z are they ? They are going to school in jogging pants and leggings. Seriously.. I think they were just too lazy to change after sleeping. Playing computer games all night long, ignoring the end of the world.
Both gen z and millennials will eventually grow up and realise that 22 is not "getting old".
*eye roll
Totally agree! It's not about generations it's just about 10s vs 20s trends. I'm a cusper born in 94 but I identify as a Millennial and I definitely wear both styles because like you said, we're just evolving our fashions with the times!

you're right, there not 2010s - they're a 2020s trend :) another thing coming back from the 90s's just like I talked about in the video 🙌🏻
Wait really?? You look 25 😳 i clicked on your channel and subscribed too
As an ‘94 girl I would def. consider myself a Millennial and remember all those 2010 trends you mentioned. Yeah because kids in the 80s weren’t claiming styles from the 40s or anything, it’s just what kids do
It's also funny because I was wearing the baggy jeans and chunky boots in middle school in the early 90s
there's a ton of 90s trends coming back in right now!
After watching this I feel like gen Z ripped off end of gen X beginning of millennials.
haha every generation ends up borrowing styles from previous generations :)
Yes they definitely did, genZ literally just copy 90s & early 2000s fashion trends.
I was born in 1988 and never hopped on the skinny jeans trend. It was always leggings for me. I found skinny jeans so uncomfortable. I still wear my leggings and my trapeze blouses like it's 2010 so maybe I'm a millennial I guess. The Millennial Sweater & Boots was my favorite outfit!! I like the more up to date combat boots but I like the rust colored sweater though!
91 millennial too I was confused as well
As an elder millennial, we remember this happening last time there was a shift between two generations! We're not feuding, but we are interested :)
GIRL YOU CAN PULL LITERALLY ANYTHING OFF!!! ur a queen
you are too sweet omg
Where are all the zillenials at? We get the best of both worlds!
Thanks for sharing TLC. They were the Queens of baggy outfits
My most important thing is clothes need to fit the body correctly, neither too tight or baggy. The trend of baggy clothing at the moment just looks plain awful because the clothes just don’t fit well and Gen Z will realise this in a few years just as we did after the 90s.

QUEEN OF SUNGLASSES
When you mentioned buying small sunglasses before they became popular you instantly classified yourself. Congratulations you are a very young millennial. Also your reaction when someone said you look comfortable and how you asked if that meant you looked lazy.. your mindset is more millennialish lol Good video btw ( I’m a millennial)
I'm a cusper too but I'm between Millennial and Gen X. I claim Millennial unless they do something that makes me SMH. Then I pretend I'm a Gen X.
Me too, but I didn't want to give away how old I am, shh! I relate more to the Millennials being comfortable with technology.
Understandable And technically a millennial But as far as I am concerned I am not wasting money on things that don't fit my body.
Best part of this video is you saying: where what you want. 😍
Born in 88 here and these millennial looks are really off. You put the converse with the Gen z outfit. That should be a sin! Haha I think you are a gen z at heart ❤️
Umm combat boots, we definitely rocked them back in the day. Is back in the day a millennial saying? Haha
Right? I used docs 10y ago, and also high converse and so on 😂 does that mean I was ahead of the time?
Seriously! And I think "back in the day" is a genX thing, because my much older sister used to say it to her friends, when I was little.
Where did you buy that green cardigan? Does anyone know where I can find a similar one?
PS: Loved the video ❤️
Your fashion & Gen z vs millennial content is my fave lol
awe thanks girl!! ❤️
I’m gen z (21) but I violated every rule that makes you old:side part, skinny jeans, this emoji👉🏾😂. I don't think it really matters but I'm literally 21
Edit: I also remember buying my first pair of skinny jeans as a girl
Don’t sweat it. Both fashions are millennial. One is 2010s millennial. One is late 90s older millennial.
You look great in all of the looks! 😊 But I think you look happier and more comfortable in the Gen Z ones. 👍 I was already thinking about buying a pastel coloured atleisure outfit, but now I'm completely convinced! Going to online shop right now! 😊 😊
First off gen x here lol… love your back ground … love how you rock the various cross gen fashions!
You make this video so visually pleasing ( content awesome as well! ) love the shades gurrrrllllll lol
I'm 21 years old and I actually don't know what I am. Sometimes it is a blessing not knowing something
omg samee i jst turned 22 so like idk when 2 start feeling old even tho im still mad young ??
I'm born in 94 and I considered myself both but currently more millennial.
we gen z taking all eras from 70, 80, 90, 00, we love care free styles
Loved the lifestyle video!! You also rock both the gen z and millennial outfits 😍
Yay! Thank you!
I’m a millie in mom jeans.
Lol this is just about fashion. You can enjoy trends no matter what your age is. Being aware or not aware of trends doesn’t make you a certain age? 🧐
On behalf of all women with endometriosis I would like to thank whomever decided Jeans should be cumfy and not just one style..I literally didn't wear jeans for a decade and can now-so my millennial tummy is thankful 😂
But wait the crop tops are in ( general fashion trends 4 fall / winter season tho?)

My style is definitely more fitting with the Baby Boomers, but both Millennial and Gen Z look great on you😍
Both styles look good, but as a guy I am just all about wearing whatever is convenient and that's it. 😉
I thought Gen Z created the battle by insulting our side part and something else. Edit. Oh yes skinny’s.
apparently we had brought back a few trends and millenials wanted gatekeep a few. then genz started calling millenials old, and millenials got angry, making songs and raps? dissing us ig, which made genz harass them more because we thought it was funny asf how millenials were so bothered.

@@jules6578 Yes ageism, so cute and quirky 😌☠
your Gen Z jeans are so cute.. where are they from? (Both the blue & black pair)
thank you! they're from Old Navy and H&M :)
Casper between gen x and millenials born 1980 but still not feel old. Before 55 person is not old
I was born in 1992 so I very much identify as a millennial in my fashion choices and everything else in my life. You look more comfortable in the Gen Z clothes but since you were born in 1996, you’re considered a Zillennial
Zillenial 😅
I'm a cusper too (1996 for the win) and I agree ill be claiming i'm Gen z!!!
Check out ll cool j … gen x reference so mono joggers , baggy clothes not new lol
I'm a millennial and I support this new gen z trend fashion evolves and that's cool I love the new gen z fashion💟 I leterally wore gen z out fits when I was 16 tho😁😂

Yo time goes waaayyy too fast 4 u kidzzzz!
Im a Millennial for sure! 😉
Study fashion. This is all norms. But you are way deep in ur feels! Lol
As a millennial I feel attacked 😹
its all so boring - I like to wear lotsa crazy prints and shit - just dont give a fuck lol (I'm 46 so i guess thats eighties attitude)
These outfits are all very USA American. That must be where the millennials and Gen z live.
Gen z won on every category. I’m millennial but really over the millennial fashions lol
What about those silly Jodhpurs?
Lol the millennial sweater and jeans look is NOT what millennials are wearing currently AT ALL. It would be a short pointy toe black boot with skinny jeans and a turtleneck type baggy sweater. Hello Katie!
Gen Z looks bad lol

They both look lame
