Thank you, David. I'm 74 and thinking of restart painting flowers, nature, birds after watching your very fascinating lesson. You are a great teacher indeed.
I'm 79and 8 months stopped painting 11 years ago l love David's teaching, so I've got the brushes and paints out, so I'm going to paint flowers with David, if I live another 10 years I will "Jesus willing" paint some lovely flowers
Mr. Jansen, I being learning how to paint with you for years, thanks for all the lessons . I loved your lessons and how easy you made the process. I am still watching your shows to this day! God bless you , and please never stop teaching!! I am a retired teacher and you made my teaching a lot easier, I used your demonstration process, even with my first graders, they loved learning and painting. There I used your method ; watch and draw! I was you and my students were all drawing behind me. They lost the fear of making mistakes, all they did , were their unique creations. Thanks, God bless you!
I love how you “play” with the brush and the paint. Also how you share your vast knowledge with us, that makes the session so interesting!!! Yes! I love it!!!
Dear Mr. Jansen, Many thanks for your wonderful sharing again!!!! You really have taught and inspired me a lot!!!!! Wish you good health and all the best!!!!!
I love your work. And your teaching is so helpful. I go to your site for another reason. You are so sure of yourself that you relax me by watching you. Thank you for your awesome talent and your superb ability to teach.💗
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with all of us bless your heart. Funny you like trains. I lived on a train for two and a half years, with Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey circus blue unit. In 1979 I believe it was the longest train in the northern continent. So anyway yes I'm quite familiar with trains just as you are. My grandfather was an electrician for the railroad. So thank you so much thank you thank you thank you for sharing God bless you
Loved the lesson on the weight of the subject vs the frame. I also love the simplicity of these beautiful wild flowers. Absolutely georgous!! The colors and the casual look! WOW!
again, love your way. thanks. so very helpful to address my frustration. I am a stiff painter and I do not want to be!!!! And you said you were in Sidney Ne, I was in Holdrege NE for a number of years..made me smile, I remember the trains well......
You are a phenomenal teacher. You have empathy for your students, as you have experienced their struggles at one time in your life. I admire you as the artist and appreciate your fine talent. Thank you for making painting so enjoyable for all!🙏👌
Ok, I actually teared up watching this video because I can't believe my luck in finding such an awesome paint teacher. Can't wait to replay and paint along and discover all of your other sessions. Your calming voice and painting tips really are inspiring. Much appreciation to you for adding beauty to the world. Well done!
I've always wanted to paint flowers but could never seem to, anyway I tried this one and It's actualy not bad :) I am sure it's thanks to you, you're an amazing teacher, thankyou so much
Thank you very much. No I did check with a flower friend of mine. It is a cosmos I was looking at. The California poppy is orange and has wider petals. Had those on the hill next to my house in California for 25 years. They are wonderful. I have painted those many times. 😊
Your wildflower painting is absolutely beautiful! It amazes me at the beginning of your painting how you so easily add different length stems. I have tried but oh well, I am learning concepts as I go along and enjoying my painting time each day. Thank you, for another great video and can't believe all of the many brushes that are yours!😊
I loved this. And the train horn... I actually thought it was the one about 5 miles south of me here! Loved that. I grew up with hearing trains going through our little town. Looking forward to many more, Dave. Take care!
I started following along with one of your videos the other night and by my third flower it was starting to look ok haha! Got a few more thousand flowers before I can get as amazing as you! 🤣 thank you for your videos!
So beautiful Dave. I love the casualness of the painting. You mentioned you might do a video on varnishing paintings. I would love to see that. I seem to get some streaking when I apply the gloss varnish. Thanks so much for these videos. They are gold!
Yes, I am Dusty. I will have it next week. Since your using gloss, sounds like you have areas of thick and thin varnish. Add a little water to the varnish as you apply and give 3 thin... THIN coats. I will show in the video. Thanks so much 😊
I so enjoyed the video! You have such a wonderful sense of humor. Great teachings like no other. I'm looking forward to giving this a try. Might have to put off my landscape painting just a short while. :)
It is my youtube favorites paletter that I list on most newer videos. Here is a link in the store that lists the colors. jansenartstore.com/youtube-essentials-set-aka-daves-favs/
It is beautiful as art work and beautiful as process too, enjoyable and very useful instructions. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Please, could you perhaps paint a red squirrel? They are such cute creatures, I would love to see how your interpretation of one of them.
This is great. Definite challenge....must find my loosen goosey brush for this one. Haha. Reminds of a story once told to me by one of the girls I used to teach with. She was on her way to class and drove down a street by the lake nearby. It was spring and all the ducks and geese were plentiful. Unfortunately, one of the geese had been struck by a passing car and she had witnessed the awful event. She was quite upset, but gave it some thought....how can she make things better. There was no rescuing the poor goose as it passed immediately after being struck. She didn't want the poor thing to die without purpose. She pulled her car over by the goose and began plucking it's feathers! She took the feathers to her paint class, washed them in the sink, gave them out to her students and gave a quick tutorial on faux finishes and veining with a feather. We crazy painters think quite differently than the average person. Lol
Firstly thank you for your tutorials. I read in one of the comments somebody asked about varnishing a painting so my question is do you HAVE to do that on all paintings? I use just the normal Heritage paint since that is all that is available here so your technique that i so much love is a bit of a struggle to me. But thanks for all your tutorials
Im glad I found you I e only been painting a few years .I love the way you teach I feel like I'm right there I will be taking notes ....you are easy to follow . Where are you from ... Virginia because you look and sound so familiar. Thank you
You’re my favorite floral artist and I’ve been practicing your Alla Prima Techniques, but I just can’t seem to get it down. I use oil paint and I thought that may be the reason?
Could be. Not all techniques can be done in all media. The acrylics I use feel like "butter" on the brush so they slide very easy. You might have to loosen up the oils a little more. Just a thought. I haven't painted with them for many years.
