not only Blast had hold back against Garou and let the founding Ninja escape, he also let the elder centipede escape without finishing him as well.

To me Elder Centipede would’ve been killed but God stepping in distracted Blast and gave it a chance to escape

Blast let the ninja escape because he was the only one who could open the gates to the dimensional rock cave. If he would’ve killed the ninja he wouldn’t have access to god forever.
Also guys I want to point out something I found to be interesting. During the monster association arc when flashy flash saitama and Manaco were in the cave they broke a hole in the cave or something and they couldn’t make out what was in the cave with her flashlight. Then we zoomed out of the image of god crouching. I think that is the dimensional rock cave. Which confuses me. how did they get access to it?

I think not only blast does not want to kill his ex-partner but he does not want anyone to hold grudge and try to kill "that man"
Blast was number 1 for a reason. I don't think he's acting strange. He is obviously holding some levels of regret for his partner and the destruction of the village. So it makes sense that he doesn't want to talk about it much. 'That man's' name was empty void so I'd wager his abilities might have been similar to Blast's powers in some capacity- add supreme ninja abilities to that and you could see he probably was a formidable opponent.

This chapter was amazing, I hope we get some insane battle works of flashy flash vs sonic, that’s the fight I’m mostly hyped about and the fight that is most likely going to get drawn first anyways.

Blast is not really weak, thats like saying naruto is weak for not finishing off sasuke. Empty void was his friend, his partner and add to the fact he's the only one known to have access to god's dimension, so why would he kill him? 1. He and Empty Void are fucking chads
2. Blast is the Mumen Rider of the S-Class, he has a heart & spirit of a real hero. He didn’t have the heart to end his friend’s life (FF even said what a softie he is)
3. Can be goofy sometimes from the way he wonders this “secret hideout” of FF and Saitama.
4. Invite Saitama by transporting him along despite Saitama has nothing to do with the Ninjas, proof that Blast isn’t a cocky man.
5. Didn’t mind telling Saitama & FF classified information (maybe at least to the HA)
Im sure the chairman took Ge os advice and allowed the information to be passed onto saitama as well

I dont know that anything was retconned, i think its likely that god is imprisoned somewhere, and that the founding ninja has the ability to get to that prison. Most likely if Blast can reach the prison then either blast can fully seal or destroy God.
I doubt Blast can do it alone, he literally had his galactic justice league squad to back him up during the Saitama x Garou clash to redirect the power from their clash.

I would predict the future chapters is not Flash against Sonic. It more likely duo Flash & Sonic vs. 19 members of Heavenly Ninja Party.
