So basically, they made an event for Etoiles, and in the end he change his powerfull shield with a broken shield ! The code be like : "outstanding move". I don't quite understand the logic behind this for now, maybe we'll have a better explaination later ?
I have three theories: - The code had no idea there was a shield in the Nether, and just wanted to trap its biggest threat in it, not expecting him to get back, much less with a broken-ass shield. This however doesn't explain why the Code had the same shield at 10:48, other than a meta reason to encourage Etoiles to use it. - The code wanted q!Etoiles to open the office where the shield was hidden, but much like with q!Cellbit's sword investigation, expected him to not be able to reach it. That's why the code briefly had the shield but put it back as soon as q!Etoiles drew his. This would be an admin's mistake, or a miscommunication, so also a bit meta. - The book mentions "intense trial" leading to "unprecedented events" for CPV1. Maybe the same can happen for CPV2 and that's what the Code wants for q!Etoiles. That would explain the Code drawing out another iteration of the shield, goading q!Etoiles into using his, then putting it back so that q!Etoiles would be the only one potentially facing the "unprecedented events". I'm partial to the third theory, only because I feel like expecting q!Etoiles to be the only one capable of reproducing the intensity of the CPV1 trials makes sense. I mean, literally the day after he tested the shield on a whale (and won) lmao! I also think that this will somehow come into play no matter what theory is true.

Actually I think the code got out before trapping Étoiles and probably hoped that they will manage to get the shield once he gets out. But that was still a stupid move
