Interesting conversation as an American viewer. There’s a notable cultural difference. I remember watching the first season of Love Island UK and there was a contestant on there who was celibate and she was roasted alive. Very similar to Judy’s experience of being made fun of. They made it seem like she was a freak and I was shocked because her being celibate in America would have been regarded well. Then watched the first season of Love Island US and there was a contestant who was celibate. It was a respected and even encouraged position. Proving my thoughts on it. Celibacy and sobriety are a lot more common in the US, even for young people.
