nish is great. I fell in love with him from all his panel show appearances on UK panel shows. after I discovered uk panel shows...my life has gotten immeasurably better. lol
"... also, it would show they had learned some lessons, because the labor power was in power the last time countries responded to a terrorist attack by collectively punishing a civilian population." Damn Nish, gonna call us out like that
Bercow is pretty much persona non gratis in UK political circles because of his time in the Speaker's Chair. As Nish mentioned, he was quite a Centrist (most Speakers are as they represent the whole house) but started as a Conservative MP. When the Speaker takes up the role they then need to renounce their party affiliation and swear to be non-partisan. The governments that he served during (Brown, Cameron, May, Johnson) became more combative (and eventually broke the law) with House procedures. As the voice of the House Bercow stood up to them, castigated them and challenged them - especially Johnson. Normally when a Speaker steps down they're enobled and given a seat in the House of Lords. Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson however decided to be principle private petty of the department for petty pettiness and not put him forward. He did however support the investigation into allegations of bullying (something which he tried to prevent for his own Cabinet ministers). Don't worry though, Johnson did ennoble the Russian son of an "ex" FSB agent who he escaped his security during a NATO conference to meet up and party with. But he's an oligarchical newspaper owner so Lord Lebedev of Siberia is completely fine and not in any way the huge potential breach of national security that the Houses of Commons, Lords, the police, and national security agencies all claimed it would be. Oh, and he also made a 30 year old former junior aide into a Baroness. Her contributions to society and her chosen field were so vast that her entry on the House website read along the lines of "There is no information about this member." Quite why the blonde former aide to the PM (who some believe bears more than a passing resemblance to him, and others have compared with his litany of former wives, lovers, mistresses and other known sexual partners) became Lady Owen of Alderley Edge, the youngest Life member of the House of Lords, is a mystery. (Hope that helps! 😁)
@@Vulcanerd You'd think so. But then I always have to remind myself that I'm in the worst possible timeline, so of course it all makes perfect sense. 🤷😭🤬
@@WillBravoNotEvil Ah, I think you might have misunderstood. Andy Zaltzman and John Oliver started The Bugle podcast together before John moved to the US. So my joke was that *he* was the sidekick, rather than Nish who appears regularly on The Bugle's various shows. 😉 😁
John Bercow's honorary coat of arms included rainbows, a pink triangle, and the motto "All are equal," which is how I found out he was a vocal supporter of LGBTQ rights. So we love that.
Why can't you release all three segments on the same day? I can't watch this until I can see the segment 'before' it that obviously leads into this one.
Having these two together to riff off of each other is fantastic. I loved this. Side note, Jon Lovett is completely right about speaker John on the traitors being COMPLETELY out of place, and running as if he's never run a day in his life lmao.
That day wasn't a good one for Parliament, but it should be noted that the resolution that was ultimately adopted, as proposed by Labour, (de jure unanimously) called for an immediate ceasefire, and recognition of a Palestinian State.
Incidentally, there are still American celebrities that do Japanese commercials. A lot of them tend to be for cosmetics these days, though. And Tommy Lee Jones doing coffee commercials.
Wow nish, you dropped a grand to the taxi driver. I’m British and am well aware of your career and I’m surprised you had that kind of money to play with. Very kind of you
I instantly clicked when I saw Nish and Lovett together on the thumbnail
same here ❤🎉
same here ❤❤❤
Been watching a bunch of Mock The Week and wish there were more episodes with Nish lol we need more Nish and Lovett together
I'm a fan. I watch Nish on Podcast saves the UK. And he appears on podcast The Bugle from time to time
Nish is brilliant! Glad to see him and Lovett talking trash.
nish is great. I fell in love with him from all his panel show appearances on UK panel shows. after I discovered uk panel shows...my life has gotten immeasurably better. lol
@@timfriday9106 He was great on Taskmaster, too! I love that Nish can do silly stuff like that and be good at being a political podcaster, too.
OMG I love Nish. He is very famous to me.
Big fan of Pod Save the UK. Love Nish Kumar. He really is on a lot of programs in the UK.
Well, a lot fewer since they cancelled Mock and destroyed MASH.
"... also, it would show they had learned some lessons, because the labor power was in power the last time countries responded to a terrorist attack by collectively punishing a civilian population."
Damn Nish, gonna call us out like that
This guy is hilarious - love it! His laugh is the great too.
"Your close personal friend Mr. Bean" Lovett probably doesn't know Nish's best friend's girlfriend actually left him Rowan Atkinson.
Love Nish and Pod Save the UK. I wish there was a Pod Save Canada with Rick Mercer, he'd kill it.
I am so with you on that as a fellow Canuck.
Lovett, “What are you, here to buy one of Pablo Escobar’s hippos??” 😂
Love Nish. Huge talent.
Love Nish!
AAAAAhhhh Jon and Nish, what a combo! Love you both so much! Big fan of God Save The UK

Wow, I would think that would make Johnson persona non grata rather than Bercow. Johnson sounds like a bell end.

I haven't stopped laughing. 😂 What a dang duo.
Good on Nish for giving that money to the cabbie. Especially considering he likely had to pass on that day’s worth of fares to wait for Nish.
Love Nish
If you are White he don't like you
Great to have Nish and Jon together again!! I could've listened to a whole episode of these two chatting and making each other laugh.
Had no idea Bercow was on the US Traitors. Crikey. Great to see Lovett and Nish together. More please!
Huge Traitors fan. Jon, that run was 100 exactly correct.
Oh cool, Andy Zaltzman’s sidekick!
Nice to see him getting out of Zaltzman's shadow.
I didn't see John Oliver anywhere... 😉 😁

I see Nish is still plopping down onto any chair he finds himself over. You think breaking the thumb would make him more cautious.

I think it was a subtle flex that Nish said he would place his hat over his wang and proceed to put the hat over his knees... 😆
I'm here for Nish "Last Place" Kumar.
Love Nish. Been WAY too long since I’ve seen him around.
Also, John Bercow is a LEGEND. “OooorrrrDAAAAAAHHHH!!!!”
More crossover episodes! More crossover episodes!
You've got talent stacked all over crooked media, you need to mix and match! Unleash the unexpected!
Love at the start you can hear him laughing off stage
I've got a crush on both these blokes. So bloody smart. Love it!

I don't think the impact of the 'Labour anti-semitism' scandal can be over estimated in Labour's current response to Gaza
