I think satire is incredibly important in news, because it can be used to state bluntly exactly what’s happened, without having to tread on eggshells because of the legal protections afforded to it.

It would have been better for the middle guy to have been louder. I kept having to turn it up when he was talking and down when the comedians were talking. Very irritating.
In most societies politics pushes the two largest political parties to positions where their policies attract around 50% of the population (left and right). Add in that the centerist middle floating voters that switch between the two and a majority of any population will have, at one time or another, voted for the right wing party. Although I have never voted for a right wing party, I recognise that the people who do are not evil, stupid or ill informed. The problem with comedians who think it is funny and edgy to be rude and offensive to people that hold different political views is that they never appear to understand that a large proportion of the population will have voted for these people. They assume the majority agree with them because they surround themselves with people who agree with them. Add in the fact that many of these people are often incredibly wealthy themselves, it gets very boring watching a middle aged comedians acting like they are a twenty something politics students lecturing ordinary working people before getting into their RangeRovers.

The Guardian does good reporting sometimes. And is known to be left of centre. Nothing wrong with a bias if everyone knows what it is. In the UK we know. The Daily Mail is right-wing for example. Most everyone in the UK could tell you the bias of the papers available. Its obvious.

Splendid interview!
"there's bits of cars all over the track" would certainly get you a job alongside Alan Partridge's Desk of Sport.
GOAL! and that's a goal right there.
Calling it "the track" sounds a bit too technical, though. Maybe "that dark part of the ground" would be more helpful to average viewers.

Thanks for this. Three erudite, politically aware and funny young men. Josh, Nish, Ed and Joe are mint.
Funny to see Josh trying to hide his Nero cup when he talks, you can tell he is TV trained.

Good stuff
I thought Nish just really hated getting letters and going outside based on the thumbnail.
I can only stomach news that has been pre-digested by comedians. Spitting Image, HIGNFY, Mock the Week, The 10 O'Clock Show, The Mash Report...
No comedians involved in the mash report tho.
OMG Gus Honeybun! made my summer holidays down in Cornwall as a kid
I loved Gus Honeybun I’m in south Wales but we got to see him too.
We had Gus Honeybun in South Wales, too! Westward TV was what we had instead of ITV. I was very scared of Gus in the 70's.
I'm so glad Gus Honeybun is coming back - just disappointed I live in Scotland now so won't get to see him.
Shame it's so short, would've been lovely to for it to be an hour plus. :)
incredible
Old enough to remember Gus Honeybun :)
shame about the ownership of most local papers
Anyone around Josh's age that holidayed in the TSW area as a kid remembers Gus Honeybun! 😂
I'm currently working Joe at work, even though Josh told me not to.
Hold the Front page was a fun show. I admire Josh Widdicombe's commitment to being the one who isn't funny on so many two hander comedy projects.
The first double act where they are both the straight man.
I loved Gus Hunnybun!
Bits of cars all over the track is perfectly acceptable to describe the first few shots of an accident before the camera teams have worked out who exactly is involved/where the main structure now is.
Really hope that the secret gay messaging hidden within the Gus Honeybun segments got picked up by Josh - it’s the most incredible part of the story
Nish is nailing the Trotsky aesthetic.
Good balance, man who only knows top royals and man descended from King Edward I
