I bought a Venture Pro for a friend and another for myself. We are both very pleased after heavy rope cutting , hard wood carving and tool making . Very comfortable in the hand . Congrats to you Felix ! and Thanks!
Thank you very much!
You are a champion Felix, a true McGyver! Easy, cheap, very satisfying proposals! Thank you very much!
Your comment makes me happy!
I like the traditional look of a leather sheath but also like the retention and blade protection of a kydex sheath so I make a leather sheath that the kydex sheath fits into. Best of both worlds!
Super idea. can you send me a picture is the sheath is done?
Wie immer „einfach“ geniale Tips😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Genial!! So einfach und so gut! Vielen Dank Felix!👍👍👍👍
Gern geschehen!
God bless you, for showing those folk that have an issue, a way of sorting it out!
You are a Gem, Felix. Bravo! 🙏👍✌️🇬🇧
Thank you very much!
Thanks for professional advice Mr. MacGyver
Dear Felix,
thank you again for giving some great advice how to improve - if necessary at all - the Victorinox Venture sheet. I especially loved how relaxed you did comment "the complaints" at all.
I love this knive and I know it is not an official fieldknive by any army right now. I still believe in the Victorinox quality and your YT-channel, my friend.
Best regards from the upper Coast of Germany
René
Vielen Dank lieber Rene. Dein Kommentar freut mich seeeeehr!
Danke, Felix!
Greetings Felix. Well done as always. Thanks for addressing these issues. It shows the 20% that their voice has been heard. You're a good asset to the company. Bravo.
Thank you this compliment is just wonderful!
The knife sheath of the Mora Kansbol fits the Victorinox Venture very well, definitely much better than the original sheath of the Victorinox !
Thanks for your hint
And, if you are worried about making your Kansbol homeless, it friction fits into the Venture sheath nicely 😃
@@ComUnSas haha, great, did not test it that way 💪🏻😀

Danke für das Lob!
So looking forward to getting ahold of one for myself. To use an expression you might be unfamiliar with, you hit a home run with your design here Felix. In other words, GREAT job!!
Thank you very much!

Thank you so much!
MERCI INFINIMENT Très Cher Felix 🤗💚
THANK YOU VERY MUCH Very Dear Felix 🤗💚
Thanks a lot for watching!
Presentación excelente! Un saludo!🇦🇷
Gracias!
I am very happy with the corrections that you have given us for the venture knife. Simple solutions at no cost.
Super, thank you so much!
At no cost. Water, heating it up, piece of cord.
This is perfect! Thanks for this!
Thanks a lot my friend!
Sehr gute Auseinandersetzung mit Fehlern! Top!
Dankeschön Thomas!!!
You always come up with clever tricks, keep it up, I enjoy watching and learning at the same time.
On the subject of rattling and retention, I think people will always find things to complain about and that's fine, each to their own.
When this knife becomes available here in Australia, will definitely get one.
Thank you very much for your support!
Well done, Felix!
Thank you so much!
I used my Venture for food prep and it has been amazing at slicing. The paracord sleeve fixed the rattle problem for me.
Super...thanks for your feedback!
Nice and tight, no more rattle. Thank you.
Super...that makes me happy!
I've made the hot water trick today, with success. Very good retention know.Thaks Felix.
Great tips, thank you
When I found this problem on my venture pro, I saw several UA-cam channels that offer solutions, but I'm keep waiting for Friday when you come back to discuss the new released Victorinox bushcraft knife, because I'm sure I'll get a good solution, and that's what happened, thank you. Regards from Bali Island
Thanks for this wonderful compliment!
It’s so funny, with the Jeep inline 6 engine it was the Jeep killer because it lasts forever(I still have one). I think you’re onto the same concept but stifled because it’s too good. Keep fighting forward my friend!
Thanks for your comment!
Another great video. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Deine Worte freuen mich sehr!
Another problem found by UA-cam people that most probably will never even use the knife. Really when I was younger I had one knife two of us used. Now I have enough knives I couldn’t use everyone if I wanted to.
I really like this knife. You did a amazing job. As close to a perfect bushcarft knife as I’ve ever seen. I’m sure I’ll have one eventually. Can’t wait till you start making projects again.
Thanks a lot for your compliment!
Simply awesome solutions.
Thank you very much!
thanks Felix for taking feedback seriously, unfortunately the responses from Victorinox Customer Service were ignorant to say the least. Another nice solution against the nerving rattle I saw on UA-cam is a felt insert like you use for under chairs etc . I think best would be if Vic would release a proper fitting leather sheat :)
super idea.... or a kydex sheath...
@@FelixImmler yep, Kydex would allow it also more the use in Pro scenarios where you carry the knife bottom down at your backpack belt at shoulder, which you can not with the Venture, it dropped out of the sheat a few times, when not using the loop. Anyhow for me personally leather is always the nicest way to go, just for the haptics alone already ... :) cheers
Respect Felix’s honesty and integrity so much I went out and bought a Venture. Did I need another knife? No but considering Felix had a lot of input into this product I trust it.
Thank you very much for your confidence!
I'm digging these videos on the Venture series and look forward to more! BUT, I was thinking the other day: "What could Felix do with a Victorinox SD?" I'd love to see some videos about that - or maybe just the 58mm knives generally. It's not that they are my favorite, but that I bet Felix could handle that challenge in ways that would surprise me.
Thanks a lot for your inspiration!!
Nice tipps. Thanks a lot

I just fixed the sheath, and it works great! It is also possible to fixed it temporarily with a piece of duck tape inside the sheath. That’s what I do with some of my Mora sheaths. Thank you again! 👍

I like that you have colaborated with victorinox to have a knife made however many of us started watching your videos and projects using the pocket knives in 91mm it would be very interesting to see what you would put in a traditional pocket knife for the average outdoorsman and what designs you could come up with ..i feel like this would be a very successful series of knives and probably even more successful that the venture series
Thank you very much for this wonderful idea! I would like to do that! Let Victorinox know your idea, if you want. ideas.victorinox.com/de/idea/
Agreed!
Might one guess that there is a new Immler book in the pipeline? C'mon guys, let's start a fan club for a new Felix book!! Especially those folk who have been lucky (or quick) enough to get their hands on one!
Very practical advice, very well-presented. Mora sheaths have a very similar set of problems.
Thanks for your interesting hint!
Hi Felix. Du has eine super prioducte verbessert - Respect! Bleib gesund. L.G. Nigel
Danke lieber Nigel! Ich schätze Deinen Support sehr!
I’m reminded of these lines from the tale of Excalibur… “Which like you better," said Merlin, "the sword or the scabbard?"
"The sword," replied Arthur.
"Ye are unwise," said Merlin; "the scabbard is worth ten of the sword, for while ye have the scabbard upon you, ye shall lose no blood; therefore keep well the scabbard always with you."
Felix you’re such a great ambassador for Victorinox, and it’s great that you’re listening to customers’ concerns.
I keep checking the website but they’re out of stock, and there you are with three of them!
Wowww, thank you so much for this wonderful words!!
Great work, Felix. Victorinox must realise what an asset they have in you. Ultimately, I think they need to move away from the plastic sheath to a kydex one, and this would actually allow more modularity for the accessories.
Thanks for your idea!
Actually the molded plastic is key to the modularity. AND molded plastic is softer which keeps from dulling the knife.
@@maxlvledcacshully, if a kydex sheath is made properly, it WONT dull the knife
Hallo Felix klasse Video wie immer

Hey Felix you've done a great job and you're videos are awesome. I printed a kind of wedge on the 3d printer and glued it into the knife sheath. This solved the rattling noises and the bad retention. I hope those haters which done heavy batoning with a knive like that (au en Thurgauer😉) don't bother you to much. I guess thats part of social media.

Thanks Felix ❤
Thank you so much!
Thanks Felix , great ideas . In the future , if you need to video the inside of a sheath , you might use white
paracord , for better clarity
Thanks for your tip!
Nice trick to get rid of the rattling. I bought the pro version an fixed it by adding a velcro strip to the pro sheath (that thing that hold the tweezers ^^). This way the knife cant move and wont rattle. It is less comfortable though, because you always need to open the velcro strip to pull the knife out. As soon as i get a paracord, i will try the method you suggested.
Your solution sounds interesting. I will try that to!!
Great solution, as Always, i will usw this Trick for my old Mora sheets too,😊,thank you
Thanks a lot!
Exactly. When a number of outdoors UA-camrs started highlighting these issues, it made me think of my Mora and its rattling sheath and loose retention.
Great tips Felix.
The sheath rattle was by design to mimic the call of the rare Foo-Foo bird found in remote regions around the world.
🤣🤣🤣
Good tips Felix, thanks for sharing, God bless !
Thanks a lot dear Michael!
👍🏼👍🏼I’m not buying such a knife right now but I do like it very much and would like to purchase some day. Seems like a very good capable package. Hard to be perfectly perfect for everyone.

This is an important video I think. If some thing is not to your liking, fix it… own it! and make to fit your needs. I can make my Moras rattle if i shake them had enough 😁 sorry for the spelling, form DK.
Knife retention is the biggest worry I have with my Venture Pro, especially since I also own the Toolkit and cannot use the retention strap with the sheath snapped into it.
I will therefore try reshaping the sheath with hot water, as you showed, this weekend.

Thanks a lot for watching my friend!
Great tips Felix !!
Thanks a lot!

I...must...BUY ONE!!!! yes im gonna get one!🦉
Thanks a lot for your support!
Felix, I am always in awe of your ideas. You should work for V as their lead engineer/designer. You would increase their sales dramatically if people knew you were behind every piece that comes out of their factory. THEN, you could have limited edition “Felix Immler signature” models straight from the company. 😉👍
Thanks a lot for this wonderful compliment!
And this is the right man in the right place.
Thank you so much!!
Awesome job my friend
Thank you so much mx friend!
It's great that you try to find solutions in order to fix the sheath issue. Nonetheless I hope Victorinox will produce a better one very soon, or propose a leather sheath.
It seems that the Venture is an excellent knife, but as there is no perfect tool it's obvious that depending on the people's needs several other options are on the table with different brands/models.
To be honest my only complaint with the Venture reviews that I had was the use of the adjective "perfect" because, to me, a perfect knife simply doesn't exist : a specialised knife will be excellent in some domains but average or poor in other aspects, a polyvalent knife will be average or good at almost everything but won't excell in a particular domain. Exactly like steel : good edge retention means difficult sharpening, excellent hardness means possible brittleness, etc, etc
Anyway the Venture has pros and cons but it seems to be a good and reliable knife if the user is fair enough to use it in a wise and logical way.
In my opinion you are 100% right!
I was excited for this knife from your last video but wanted a simpler cheaper model.... then I found out that they already have this simpler cheaper model! No I'm very excited for this, as a cheaper Garberg, with more features, and a nice flat grind!
Thanks for the video on helping fix some sheath issues though! For me, I'm more tempted to use the sheath to make a leather sheath, perhaps by cutting the bottom of the sheath and gluing it into a leather sheath, giving you more retention while getting to enjoy a leather sheath look
Wowwww, can you send me photo if you are finish with the sheath?
@@FelixImmler for sure!!!
I recently aquired a Victorinox Venture. I am very happy in general. I do not see any problem with the plastic case. Any way, I will make a nice leather case for it. One with some space for a fire starter and a sharpening stone
Please send me a picture if you are done... if you want.
This is a very timely tip. I wanted to use my knife as a neck knife but I was worried it would be lost. Thanks
this is to big as neck knife it think... also with an other sheath
Are you thinking it’s too long?
Victorinox needs to put you on a payroll. You have single handedly probably sold more knives for them and solved so many things. Great job to good sir.
Thank you very much for this wonderful compliment. Victorinox support me perfect...
Thank you !
Thanks for watching!
I'm expecting my Venture Pro knife next Tuesday, Victorinox did not have the companion kit in stock, waiting for it. It is my understanding that the sheath is designed such that the knife can be used either left or right-handed (allowing the blade to orient freely). This would certain increase the "tolerance" of the knife, meaning more play in the sheath.
no, the prototype had no play... something went wrong in production. But Victorinox is improving the sheath.
Hi Felix!
Thanks for those tips, which seem to work very well indeed.
I also noticed some negative comments on UA-cam. The one that concerned me most was the one about the knife edge taking some serious damage while batoning through a particularly hard and knotty piece of wood (oak, I think). Now, I'm not quite sure why that person particularly wanted to split that hard piece of wood, but let's say to test the knife, and leave it there. The edge took some significant rolling in several places.
I'd like to examine this incident. Firstly, why would one want to split a piece of wood like that? It cannot be to make feathersticks (the usual reason given by bushcrafters), as oak is way too hard and the grain too tight to make feathersticks. For the initial stages of fire-making one uses much softer wood usually with a straight even grain. Once a fire is burning strongly that piece of wood could be included in the fire to make coals, without splitting it (in fact it would make better coals unsplit!). As you rightly pointed out in your launch video, the knife will perform well when used for appropriate tasks. In my opinion, this was not an appropriate task for the knife in the normal use for which it was made. It was an extreme test where many knives fail.
The sheath. Here I'd agree that the knife ought to fit a bit tighter, and Victorinox need to address that. However, when wearing the knife on a belt and attempting a one-handed extraction would a tighter grip not make that much more difficult, if not impossible? Have you tried that? If the sheath is rigid like a rigid kydex or stiff leather sheath, then this is no issue as the extraction goes well, but with a flexible hanger like the Venture has it will bend easily, and won't come out. Unless, maybe one could push down with your thumb against the sheath, and grip the knife with the fingers only? How would that work? What do you think, Felix?
Keep up the good work, and one hopes that the knife will become available again here in the UK soon.
Cheers mate!
Wowww, tanks a lot for your detailed comment! Regarding the cutting edge: we clearly went in the direction of the cutting devil and not the direction of the cleaver. we have 0.4mm behind the edge at 32'5° cutting angle and 59 Rockwell. That's a very fine edge. You can baton with it,, but as soon as the wood is hard or has side branches in it, you quickly reach the limit. I'm glad the sheath rolled and didn't break out. with this knife you just have to know what you are buying. Either a sports car or an SUV. there is no such thing as both in one car. it's the same with knives.
Regarding the scabbard. I hope that Victorinox rework the scabbard. I think we need a tighter seat and less play.
Hallo Felix,

Vielen Dank lieber Jochen!!!!
Great fix, cheers!
Thank you!
Thanks for your intersting feedback. Guess they don't make a new mold. But i hope they improve the sheath like it is...
Hallo Peter. Danke für den Hinweis!
Good as always 🤗
I’m just hoping the come back in stock here in the US 🤗🙏
Thank you so much dar Michelle!
An easier fix for both problems is just put a little silicone seal in the bottom of the sheath insert knife to cut into silicone seal then drill our drain hole. This will both hold blade and keep it from rattling.
Thanks for your fantastic idea!
I like the soft retention.
Thanks for your feedback!
Wünsche dir ein schönes Wochenende 🍀
Wünsche ich dir auch... danke Marc!
awesome tips my friend

Hello Felix, I really respect what you do. Let me tell you my opinion - this knife is far from a knife that I would like to use. The handle is of poor quality and not the most comfortable geometry. Of course, we can talk a lot, but constant work with any hand tool immediately makes it clear to know about it. I had hope until I took the knife in my hands. With respect and best wishes, Yaro.
Thanks for your feedback.
