Getting rid of the Q50 sedan and Q60 coupe platforms does not make any sense to me at all. Why would Infiniti get rid of two of their best models? Sluggish sales? That is their fault for their poor advertising and marketing of the Q50 and Q60. Why would they get rid of their two best performance cars, the "baby GTRs" for? That is like Toyota getting rid of the Camry and Corolla. That is like Dodge getting rid of the Charger and Challenger. The Q50 and Q60 can be easily modded in performance, which is a huge plus. The exterior and interior look better than most newer cars. There are so many things you can do to the interior too. Infiniti can change the 7 speed transmission platform to a 10 speed transmission platform. If anything, Infiniti needs to increase the performance in HP/TQ to be competitive with the top models of the Mustang, BMW, Camaro, Charger, Challenger, Alfa Romero, Mercedes, G70/80 and Audi. Toyota did not implement all my suggestions, but at least they did listen to what I had to say. I hope Infiniti will do the same. I feel that getting rid of the Q50 and Q60 is a HUGE mistake! There is an Infiniti Nation that agrees with me. All these people in the Infiniti community are sadden to hear this news. I HOPE Infiniti will reconsider their position on the Q50 and Q60. Only time will tell. Do the right thing Infiniti and keep the Q50/Q60 platforms alive💯🙏😇😉

The main reason that most sedans are not selling is because of the PRICE,,, No matter how functional the SUV is, if the sedan has a higher price or almost the same ppl will for sure buy an SUV,,, Unfortunately functionality over driving excitement for almost 70%-80% of the buyers all over the world,, Companies are for the profit and profit only,

Infiniti should’ve refined their 5.0 V8 from the FX50 and put it in the Q60 as a top trim performance model, update interior and they would’ve been fine tbh…
I always loved the fx50. The sound with the right exhaust was amazing. I feel like they could have done slight tuning and better turbos on the q50 and it could've given the m340 a run for it's money.
My mom had a J30, later a Q45 and they were both excellent. Then the dealership didn't treat them well during trade in (2007) and they went Lexus afterwards. I stuck with a G37S sedan for a long while (hit 300,000 miles), until I recently got an Audi S5 Sportback. I waited so long for a new Q50 Sport sedan but it never happened.
BREAKING NEWS: it seems Infiniti is still selling vehicles? Did you remember they existed? I certainly forgot. I certainly haven’t seen one in months. Then again the nearest Infiniti dealer is a 40 minute drive away from our auto mall for some reason.
I'm hanging onto my 2010 FX35 premium with nav. It has 91K and no major issues. Nothing else out there really says anything to me outside of a Porsche Macan.
Growing up I used to see so many different body styles on the road which made me fall in love with cars in general. Now I’m just seeing a bunch of white and gray crossovers. I’ll keep my Civic hatchback for as long as I can.
Yeah, they’re done. As nice as the Qx80 turned out, that alone won’t be enough to save them. Infiniti’s problem continues to be letting their lineup go stale. Besides infotainment, I don’t believe the Q50 had any major updates since 2018. Factor in the increase we’ve seen in car prices the last few years its not really worth spending more when you’re getting more or less the same. It’s a shame it didn’t get the Lexus Is treatment because visually this car is still a looker on the outside.
If Infiniti really wants not to sell and go bankrupt, then yeah definitely bring out that garbage EV, Acura is another one who is making mistakes with the ZDX, over priced, ugly and no one asked for any of that, just make fun, simple, attractive and reasonably affordable!
Toyota is picking up the slack when it comes to performance vehicles. Nissan has the Z and GTR, thats it. Some may say thats all you need, but lets be honest, the Nissan Skyline holds a lot of respect, all it needed was a LSD and manual transmission and it would be a hit in the performance department with the VR30. No one besides Honda, BMW, Porsche, Toyota, and a couple others, actually care about performance and fun.
I think Nissan should bring back the skyline as a sedan and coupe to replace the q50 and the Altima. However, just like the g37 it needs to be priced less than 3 series and have class leading handling IMO.

So now the only brands that produce sedans are, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Rolls-Royce. Hardly any
Mazda
all they had to do was refresh the interior. they brought this on themselves
if they released the black s trim, it wouldve sell like hot cakes
Infiniti killed the fm platform now all of them are on less luxury platform the d platform which is cramp
I HATE THE 4CYLINDERS. Would never buy that shit
Thats why i hate the qx50 and 60 preferred the old vq37 de
Enough with the SUVs.Sedans Forever !They are less likely to flip over during a crash avoidance maneuver or if u get T-boned. SUVs aren't safe and as of there current iterations don't even have the cargo capacity you would expect. Ready for the return of the sedan!
I agree
Carlos Ghosn sure got the ball rolling.
4:29 I was thinking to myself that it looks like a Chevy Malibu and then I heard you say it.
Anything Nissan drop their V6 into will be a success at least in the short term.
Murano and Pathfinder are very good, especially in higher trims like the Platinum, worth a closer look before judging.
And I almost got a Q50 few years back .. I went with the Lexus IS.. instead. Still Q50 nice car ❤
Nobody’s being sedans anymore. All cars will just be crossovers 🥹
Nowadays there's not many people who wants to spend a lot of money on small cars with big gas guzzling engines ,so if is not selling well take it out of the market 😒
Ok bud
What small cars has big gas guzzling engine ?
Look everyone it’s a EPA shell account 🫵🏼📸📸📸
NOBODY IS BUYING THE SUVS EITHERRRRR
I own a 2015 q50 with 63k miles and i love the car, the platform overall is unique. These cars get hate for no reason and they deserved better from the enthusiast world, but its sad to me as an owner that its being killed, long live VQ/VR series
the transmission sucks and not reliable at all
What other enthusiast cars have you driven? I tested almost everything last year including the Q50. The Q50 is the dullest one with the most outdated infotainment, the most boring dynamic. My final short list had TLX Type S, M340i, and G70 3.3T. I ended up with the Bimmer yet the other 2 are both far better than Q50 in the enthusiast world
@@b58foreverit’s doesn’t suck at all the 2014-2015 had valve body problems and that’s it but the 2016 and up is a different trans yea it’s the same brand and still a 7 speed but the 3.0t trans is different the shifts are faster and has been known to hold up to 750 to the wheels
@@manofsesame3024you probably drove a stock q50. Once you put a nice 275/35 tire out back with a 245 or 255 up front and lower this thing on some nice suspension these cars truly handle really good even on just lowering springs it’s a complete difference and then you can add sway bars and all there is just endless aftermarket for the q50 when it comes to suspension and performance and cosmetic things
@@anthonyfields3856 my q50 was a 2016 redsport 400 it was stock i had to replace the transmission twice in less than 3 months i get rid of the car and i purchase a 2020 m340i now thats a car
Acura is no different; their outdated refreshes are pitiful.
Acura is doing pretty good, HRC reveal and a solid line up of sedans and SUVS 🤷♂️
Sad to see downfall of Audi. Back in mid 2000s they made exciting cars like Infinit G37 and Infiniti FX, and competing well against Lexus and the Germans. And now they are horrible.
Infinity has become Japan’s version of Chrysler or Buick.
But it’s still more reliable than Chrysler and slightly more reliable than Buick! 😂
Except those cars are actually junk
@@anthonyfields3856 Buick and Chrysler I agree they are junk atleast Infiniti still behaves like Nissan where Buick is just GM built crap and Chrysler is just basically junk in general! 😂
They were always this way. What do you mean become??
Their hottest selling vehicle has been 3 row cvt suv for the last decade.
@@brianb4501 Well just because it’s been the best selling suv doesn’t mean anything a lot of manufacturers are like that so therefore it doesn’t mean the reliability of certain vehicles is great, Infiniti and Nissan are still more reliable than most GM and Chrysler vehicles I will say that much! 👍🏻
The main reason that most sedans are not selling is because of the PRICE,,,
No matter how functional the SUV is, if the sedan has a higher price or almost the same ppl will for sure buy an SUV,,,
Unfortunately functionality over driving excitement for almost 70%-80% of the buyers all over the world,,
Companies are for the profit and profit only,
Only good infiniti now is the qx80
QX60
Ah yes leave it to Infiniti to kill off the one thing that put them on the radar to begin with. Sad to see another good sedan get axed in favor of crossovers, but I’m curious to see if people will scramble to buy Q50’s now that they’re being discontinued.
A4, gs, q50, g70, stinger, discontinued. This is the end of compact sedans. It's not Infiniti's problem.
They would probably come back with an electric car in a few years with a price that people still couldn't afford.
True
They postponed development on their EV sedan indefinitely.
I poured one out for the homie Q50
They becoming Lincoln this is sad
It’s sad for sedans. SUVs, CUVs and trucks are realistically more convenient for many people but sedans will always have a place in my opinion.
Not really sedans have the same amount of usefulness as an SUV. Really SUVs are just cars or hatch backs that are have a higher ground clearance
@@bh2155 Agree to disagree on “same amount of usefulness”.
I have a 2012 M37x (with the fabulous 3.7L naturally aspirated V6) and still absolutely loving it... car has 230k miles (367k kms) and still going strong!
I hope the new QX80 can keep the brand alive. I really like my 2019 QX80; long live the V8.
Infiniti never updates its dashboards and tech. I used to like that brand. I gave up on it years ago.
I dont how Infiniti will survive on just suvs
Not like the sedans were helping the bank
@@baronvonjo1929 true but even with the improvements to their suvs I’m still not convinced they would survive and all suv lineup
@@baronvonjo1929 They are so far behind in product development its a joke at this point
Yes, because of the current western financial conditions we can make an accurate forecast about a car company.
nissan/infiniti was screwed the moment they had carlos arrested. they might as well ring him up and say sorry please come back.
Same here there is no variety in vehicles anymore and most people don't seem to care about this!
it’s so funny because i was literally wondering the other day when infiniti would make this move. now look.
That night video shot looks like Del Prado in Cape Coral.
Why are people obsessed with SUVs?
dead infiniti
I been looking at g37's q40 mostly q50 and q70.
The gtr lasted longer than most nissan vehicles.
Wish they kept was the v8 in qx80 put a mild hybrid direct injection auto start stop and cylinder deactivation and get same mpg as tt6
Infiniti just needs to go away. Nissan you are a disgrace.
All they had to do was update their Q60. It was my ideal coupe! Foolish management decision!
Infiniti is finite. Adios Infiniti 😮
The Infiniti Q50 2.0T had the same engine as the QX30 which was the same engine in the Mercedes GLA!
Smh… why would they discontinue the V6 in their bread and butter SUV AND their last sedan available? Tf where they thinking
Infinite is barley hanging on and it’s sad
Not spending 60k on a brand new q50 for the turbos to potentially go out twice before 100k miles and for sure once by 60k miles
Are people(cattle) in control of what we want to drive/buy in the USA? Apparently not😢
@ 4:35 It looks like a Batmobile !
@@miabeatz80yeah i agree. The skyline to me with VR30, manual and automatic but also priced well would be a huge hit. The q50 and G37 are great cars on their own. Just wish they didnt give the Z everything and the skyline nothing.
@@CforClairvoyant to me they just put everything in the q60 into the z. Nothing about the new model says wow. Too much competition available*** at a lower price, German and Japanese.
cant say we didnt see this coming this car been passed over due for like 10 years and ppl still kept buying them which was even more weird lol
Nothing will be missed
Let me ask, what are yall putting in your SUVs in which you need that much room? I have a 2 door coupe and can fit mountain bikes, chairs, bags, a whole table, luggage. Like genuinely what massive item are you putting in an SUV that you need all that space??
