      yeah, I get that, but youtube ad revenue doesn't cover the costs.... You know? It's NOT EVEN CLOSE, so this is the main way I've funded EVERYTHING else. And since I don't take money from the companies making these bikes....

      First off, thank you so much for using those links. It means more to me than you know. A lot of people have questions about how it works. Essentially, the affiliate link has a tag at the end of the URL (?ref=1017) that gives your browser a tracking "cookie," crediting the purchase to my affiliate ID on Rocky Mountain's side. Then you order as normal using your account. The tricky part is that immediately after the page loads the first time, they reload it and remove that tracking ID from the URL, so you can't see it anymore.
      Once you've clicked my affiliate links, you can buy any product they sell just as you normally would on any other day. You log into your account and make your purchase per the norm. You are automatically entered into the sweepstakes without having to do anything else.
      You also won't see any visual indication that you have the cookie for that session (they last for about a day) during your order. They won't give you any confirmation of the entries with the order either. That said, as long as you haven't disabled "cookies" in your browser (most don't know how to do this), you are getting the entries.
      After the sweepstakes is over, they provide all the data to me and the sweepstakes admins by masking your identity. If you are a finalist, then we get to learn your name. This way, everyone's privacy is protected, and they aren't sharing tons of names with me or the sweepstakes admins needlessly.
      I hope this helps you understand how things work. Thanks again for your support!

    Just placed an order.
    I am from the East coast, and I think it would be cool to see more long form riding videos. Maybe a series of videos taking a trip around some states like Idaho, Utah, Washington, etc showcasing the different terrains and riding parks out there. Alot of us never get to see that type of riding. Heck, you could even venture over our way and try out some East coast riding haha. Honestly, I enjoy those types of things more than giveaways, but some more diverse riding videos may bring in more traction for the giveaways.
    Best of luck!

Honestly I think it's run it's course and I feel your content was a lot better when you did it for the love of riding not because you need it to pay the bills. I'd rater see you go back to doing this on the side and watch your rides and reviews instead of videos that feel like you just need to put out content to plug the sweepstakes. You could still get enough views to make some money on the ad revenue and you might be happier just riding for fun again. Just my opinion.

      That's because he has to make enough money in order to break even or make a little bit on the give aways. In my opinion, he's not making much if any. He also has no clue if he will make break even enough to do other give aways. These are high end bikes. Someone is going to be blessed with it. They cost anywhere between $9,500-$1400 USC. With the economy how it is I can't believe he's still doing this. Is pretty dang generous. Keep it up man! You're doin great

    hey Kyle... sad to say that the shipping rates that Rocky Mountain recently switched to are 6 times what they were a few months ago. something bad has happened over there on some management level and now they just lost we Alaskan shoppers.
    i even went back and pretended to reorder past items to compare and sure enough, it's gone crazy. for example, shipping on one pair of goggles is $110.00 when it was $22. i had what i wanted - ready to check out yesterday to get in on your drawing, and the shipping came to $340 for 2 goggles and 2 sets of gloves, so i had to cancel that. bummer! it's not the actual rates... its a new RM policy.
    i called RM and asked them to investigate with their upline as to what happened... and warned them that they've likely lost the Alaskan clients. using USPS, they could stuff a large flat-rate box for only $26.00 to Alaska, so this is a real shame.
    has anyone else noticed a jump in RM shipping cost where you live in the contiguous USA???

Its seems like you may be leaning toward a new direction. You should go for it and do How-To and product reviews for Enduro as a sode hustle. Way more clicks on those and frees up your time. I've seen your videos since the begin, so I believe you what you say and your several times about beeing the last give away perhaps if it doesn't pay out anymore. Let me say one thing: you should think perhaps on a different aproach, cause I feel a little bit, that your "fire" burns lower than in earlier Years. Perhaps you could concentrate to let the bikes be testet by several riders, combined with cool group riding content? You know not only seeing Kyle riding the bike and talking alone. I am sure a lot of us would like to ride with you. There could be also a good and stable business to make some guided tours.

    Can people in Canada enter??

    • @DirtBikeChannel
      @DirtBikeChannel  2 дні тому +2

      I really appreciate your support and wanting to enter the sweepstakes. The issue with International entries is two fold, but mostly it is politics, border export fees, taxes, and red tape.
      1. The shipping of the merchandise is very expensive. Based off of my channel demographics, Australia, and Canada would make the most sense to open up international shipping to after the USA market. With my fulfillment company, it will cost me $55-$65 per shirt/item. Some items are even more. I did a trial run on Canadian orders in Late 2019, people were not willing to pay that much. I actually tested shipping shirts to Canada in late 2019 and had less than 10 orders. I ended up losing money on those orders as far as I could tell. Many of them got stuck in customs and I spend a ton of time trying to get them out.
      2. Awarding a valuable prize across international borders is a nightmare than my accountant and attorneys tell me I won’t be able to do. Even a large company like Rocky Mountain ATV/MC (multi-million dollar company near me) nearly "lost their shirts" on awarding a dirt bike to a Canadian Resident in 2018 during its sweepstakes connected to the Fantasy Super-cross they put on. It took them (with multiple full time employees) the better part of a year to navigate the red tape in getting the bike across the border (which ultimately failed) as a prize. I have even spoken to the winner of that sweepstakes multiple times (Canadian Resident) because he reached out to me with questions about what he should do, and he has validated the MASSIVE headache it was to get that bike awarded to him, due to the international border crossing. In the end, the bike could not be approved to cross the US/Canadian border, so Rocky Mountain ATV had to strip the parts they installed off their grand prize dirt bike, buy another dirt bike in Canada from a Canadian Dealer, ship the parts/upgraded items over the border, and then install all the parts on the second bike. It was an astronomical headache. It was a massive undertaking that I simply can’t get involved with. I don’t have the resources for it, and it would sink my small enterprise.
      I hope that helps shed some light on why I can only offer this to residents of the USA. Thank you for understanding.

    The main thing like I said in my other comment is that 30-40 dollars might be too expensive for some people especially in this economy. If you sold something like let’s say a pack of stickers or some small dirt bike accessories for $5-15 dollars a lot more people would be willing to pay that just to enter the giveaway and get a little something even if they don’t win.

    I think you need to diversify how you can make money a little bit more. I’ve learned the hard way it’s not good to only have one source of income, especially if that source of income isn’t stable. Also, I was looking at how to enter the giveaways and a lot of the stuff you’d need to buy costs $30-40 dollars for entries and not everyone is able to afford that. If you made more $5-10 options available you might draw more people

    Instead of doing these overly priced $13,500 bikes do a cheaper bike and “build” it then give it away. Every single channel is just over priced shit and nothing but adds. If it’s that tight then change it up. Most of us are here for the content and the giveaways are just a bonus. Don’t mean to be a dick but the channel has been a sob story lately and every video is just you on the brink of being ready to quit. Makes it hard to watch. Understand a guy going through shit but that’s not what any original viewer is here for. Were here for content and wether it’s a $14,000 bike or a $3,000 bike with $2,000 into it but way more content on said bike I feel would do way more but what do I know.

    I would enter if Canada could win!

    • @DirtBikeChannel
      @DirtBikeChannel  2 дні тому +1

      Did you use his link?

    • @DirtBikeChannel
      @DirtBikeChannel  2 дні тому +1
