From my perspective as a guy, I'm not hearing many women asking to be stay-at-home partners. From what I gather, women have their own careers that they enjoy. It seems like most just want a man to come into their lives and take over paying all their bills. The man covers everything from the mortgage, car notes, utilities, food, and more. Their money is for their own personal enjoyment, travel, and entertainment. I politely explain that I'm not wealthy and can't support both of our lifestyles with one income while still having enough personal time to spend together.
As an independent women who earns her own money and takes care of herself and her kid, I would never recommend a women be 100% dependent on her husband/boyfriend financially. These types of situations almost always leads to financial abuse where the women ends up divorce or stays married to a toxic partner. As a women having my own money gives me confidence that I can take care of myself and my kid no matter if a man is in our life or not.

@@WhizQueen As A guy, I totally concur to this notion. Forget the Golden olden tradition in Nigeria about stay at home mums it is never the way forward.
I’ve personally concluded that everyone can make their own choices, we are all adults. I don’t even advise again lmaooo. If you want to have zero dollars to your name by all means good luck. If you would rather live in a small house than contribute so that you can live in a nicer house, that’s also all well and good. If you also one day start thinking your decision was wrong, deal with it by yourself don’t come and meet me. People always forget that after 18 years those kids will move out and you’ll be wondering what you did with your life. Either way good luck to everybody 😊
If you participate in any stay at home anything …make sure you have your own separate checking and savings account and that you are saving for retirement (Roth IRA/brokerage account)….make sure your boyfriend/husband takes care of your future…that relationship could end any day …and that will leave you in a bad situation, if you do not protect yourself
