  • In direct response to a viewer’s observation about the drive belt on his EG 100 perhaps being too fast for cutting thick or otherwise challenging boards, I put my two-year-old Woodmizer Edger to the test, on camera . . .

Just love this, Howard! Please take heart! Although Beth insists that my tools and power equipment are the best maintained pieces on our whole property and in our home, there are a few that have been neglected over the years.🤫

Hi! Thank you for being part of the journey. Welcome.
The max thickness is 2-inches. One can push it a little bit. I've done up to 2-1/8th with a new blade, but the official rating is 2"
For me, electric was not an option as it required higher amperage than is available to me out at my sawmill shed. If I had the required amperage (240 volt 10HP motor required 50-60 Amps as I best recall), I'd have gone electric.
Thanks again for being part of the conversation.

Would love to know the production in one hour edging a pile of lumber?

Never edged for a full hour so can only guess based on the assumption that one was moving at a pace of taking about as much time to place the board as to edge it, one would still edge 1,000 linear feet of wood. Not bad. At a 10 foot average, that would be 100 pieces over the course of the hour. That IMO is a nice pile of lumber 8 boards wide and 12 high.
Love your channel name. Viewed the short. Hilarious. Kinda feel like an ADHD Adventurer myself most days. hahaha.

@@howardkettner thanks for the great feedback, and the compliment on the name. Sometimes, I have a hard time posting all my different things Im doing, but trying to get better at documenting and posting projects to encourage people that have ADHD.
I’ve now embarked on the journey to build the first battery powered LT40 super.

It should be measured in ft per minute . 1 inch stock will not go through twice as fast
