  • In Rail Expedition #22, I go to Buffalo, MN. I spend some time along the BNSF Marshall Subdivision and the CPKC Paynesville Subdivision. I catch a CP train, see an SD70MAC and Dash 8 in Willmar, and find many other cases of foreign power on the way home.

Hey George, nice video! Figured I’d give you a heads up, Aurora turn is looking to run in the morning sometime, ETA Brookings in the 7-ish timeframe as of now, then back west an hour or two later from aurora.
They ran a train east to Elkton and dropped the cars in the siding today, if I’d known they were doing that I would’ve let you know. Things have been pretty much 100% night time operations lately.

Thanks for the heads up! School was canceled today, so I had time to catch the movement, which occurred at 9:15.
I have also notice the lack of daytime traffic over the last few months. This is why I haven't made an RCP&E video in a while. I don't think I caught a single train in January or February. Although there was a pair of CSX AC4400CWM's sitting at the Brookings terminal one January morning. I was on my way to school, so I didn't have time in investigate the matter, but I stopped to get a good look at them. Finally, this last week I have been lucky enough to catch two afternoon freights blowing through town. I will probably make a BARA video for Jan/Feb/Mar next week to combine what little footage I have collected.
In other news, I noticed that two more G&W locomotives have been added to the list of RCP&E owned/operated engines on its railroadfan.com page. BPRR 2001 and MMRR 2057 are both considered to be out-of-service. I have a feeling these are just more part units to add to RCP&E's collection. I think I'll head to Huron in the next few weeks to investigate as soon as the weather clears up.
Best wishes and happy train spotting!
