Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is a remastered version of the Nintendo 3DS game Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, now available on the Nintendo Switch. Announced during the June 2023 Nintendo Direct, it was released globally on June 27, 2024. This version boasts enhanced and updated graphics, closely resembling those of Luigi’s Mansion 3. It marks the second reissue in the Luigi’s Mansion series, following the Nintendo 3DS remake of the original Luigi’s Mansion, and is the second game in the series for the Nintendo Switch after Luigi’s Mansion 3.
The game retains Charles Martinet’s voice clips for Luigi and Mario, even after his retirement from voicing the characters. Kevin Afghani succeeded him, starting with Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The game uses its European title, Luigi’s Mansion 2, in all regions, including those that originally called it Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. Developed by Tantalus Media, who previously worked on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.
