    What is BIM?
BIM is a process of creating and managing information about a construction project throughout its lifecycle. As part of this process, a coordinated digital description of all aspects of the constructed asset is developed, using a set of appropriate technologies. This digital description is likely to include a combination of information-rich 3D models and associated structured data, such as product, execution, and delivery information.
Internationally, the BIM process and associated data structures are best defined in the ISO 19650 and 12006 series of standards.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process supported by several tools, technologies and contracts that involve the generation and management of digital representations of the physical and functional characteristics of places. Building information models (BIMs) are computer files (often, but not always in proprietary formats and containing proprietary data) that can be extracted, exchanged, or networked to support decision making about a built asset. BIM software is used by individuals, companies and government agencies who plan, design, build, operate and maintain buildings and various physical infrastructure such as water, waste, electricity, gas, communication services, roads, railways, bridges, ports and tunnels. .
The concept of BIM has been in development since the 1970s, but it only became an agreed term in the early 2000s. Standards development and adoption of BIM progressed at different speeds in different countries; Standards developed in the UK from 2007 onwards formed the basis of the international standard ISO 19650, released in January 2019.

    estou certo?
