I watched this when this video came out. I was 9 years old. Emile helped me beat this game 100% at the mere age of 10 (242 stars, 9999 starbits on both Mario & Luigi). I also remember a time in particular Emile didn’t upload for about a month during this playthrough and I remember checking his channel everyday hoping for a new video, and when he finally uploaded again, I remember being ecstatic. I am now 19 years old. I am replaying this game via Super Mario 3D All Stars and I legit cried after booting up the game for the first time in almost 10 years. Now, as a thirteen soon to be fourteen year old, this brings back so many pleasant memories of watching Chuggaa in the pillow forts I would make in the living room. Now, I haven't talked to the friend who first introduced me to Chuggaa in three years, and so many other things have changed in my life, but Chuggaa is still here. And I thank him for that.
I only found him because so many years ago i saw his sunshine lets play in my reccomended and i didn't know what a lets play was so judging from the title I thought he was looking for multiplayer buddies in sunshine and i was like "huh? Sunshine doesnt have multiplayer " and watched it to find out what that was all about

I visit this series again once a year, every year. The first time I watched it I was 9, I was so excited to have my first wii and this game became my favourite (and still to this day remains my favourite). I would watch this series on my wii sitting cross legged on the floor, and every year my mother would yell at me for watching the same videos over and over again because I was so mesmerised by the beauty and the story and the meaning it gave to me. I’m 21 now, going through a really dark time and beginning to process a lot of childhood trauma. This series has become a huge comfort for me, and reminds me that deep down I am still that little girl who used to obsessively watch some little series on UA-cam by a lets player.
This is the Gold Standard of what a Let's Play should be. It's entertaining, informative, and has a sprinkling of nightmare fuel. Not to mention a charming personality to make it all feel natural, like you are watching a friend play the game. @@notinthebestmood1850 I'd argue that that statement is not the case. True, the actions that have come to light in recent times make the creations of the past seem unpleasant to look upon. But, I'd argue that my statement still holds water. Emile was passionate about creating entertaining content up until he left to go see help, and I don't have doubt that he still has that drive within him. Even if we never hear from him again, I still think that this video is an example as to where passion and motivation can take you in life, and I find that inspirational.

I remember this one time when my cousin and I were watching super Mario sunshine and we thought lets plays were so cool, that we pretended we were doing lets plays for the next 10 weeks. We started with Club Penguin: Game Day, then moved to Mario Kart and lots of other stuff, and that happened when we were 7. Now I'm going into 8th grade, and I still remember those times. I always come back to this video because this is where it all started for me. I was 13 just shy of one year after moving from California to Seattle due to the recession of 2008-9. I never really used computers throughout my childhood let alone UA-cam. But once my parents had to cut the cable, this was what I had to see. It was something truly special being able to see in full, video games that I didn't own at the time. I'm glad they decided to say goodbye to cable all those years ago. Chuggaaconroy was the first UA-camr I ever followed, from him all the way to today, he remains my all time favorite. Also I never watched TV again.

I've been replaying Mario Galaxy recently, and was thinking about this series for some time. It's a shame that clickable videos aren't things anymore, cuz that got rid of a lot of the charm. Zaid Hilal That part of Emile's explanation isn't quite accurate, though the flow of time would be "slowed" becuase of the extreme gravity of the blackhole you will also be in this are of "slowed time" so while to an observer outside of this "slowed time" will see you being "sucked" into a blackhole as taking an incredibly long time, from your perspective your death will be happening in "normal" time.
What if they made a direct sequel to Mario 64 where you jumped into paintings again. I feel the paintings allowed for more creativity, because the paintings could be anything, while in Sunshine it was island based and galaxy it had to be galaxy based.

@@notinthebestmood1850 I'd argue that that statement is not the case. True, the actions that have come to light in recent times make the creations of the past seem unpleasant to look upon. But, I'd argue that my statement still holds water. Emile was passionate about creating entertaining content up until he left to go see help, and I don't have doubt that he still has that drive within him. Even if we never hear from him again, I still think that this video is an example as to where passion and motivation can take you in life, and I find that inspirational.
Coming across your channel again by chance after 12 years and rewatching it now is mental, the nostalgia is going crazy.

I’m back at this let’s play, the place where I began to love this channel. I’m 17 at the time of writing this and I remember watching you as a child. This game was so amazing and I remember being so captivated by you playing this game. Your voice and the personality you brought to the game made me love it even more and I can’t believe how my childhood has flown by and all of these memories I have are still documented waiting for me to rediscover on this website. Thank you chugga, for one of the many childhood memories. Going to my grandmothers house and running to her computer to watch something she couldn’t understand, why would I watch someone play a game I could go home and play? This is terribly written but thank you again chugga, here’s to many more years of memories.
This was the first LP I watched of him. Hell, I was probably only four or so. He was a hero to me, for a long time. This is gut wrenching.
Chuggaaconroy introduced me to let's plays. He reminds me of many memories. I remember this one time when my cousin and I were watching super Mario sunshine and we thought lets plays were so cool, that we pretended we were doing lets plays for the next 10 weeks. We started with Club Penguin: Game Day, then moved to Mario Kart and lots of other stuff, and that happened when we were 7. Now I'm going into 8th grade, and I still remember those times. I still watch his lets plays, thinking what it would look like if we lets played that game.

Tomorrow, finally. I’m almost an adult now, and the sequel is finally happening almost ten years later.
I always come back to this video because this is where it all started for me. I was 13 just shy of one year after moving from California to Seattle due to the recession of 2008-9. I never really used computers throughout my childhood let alone UA-cam. But once my parents had to cut the cable, this was what I had to see. It was something truly special being able to see in full, video games that I didn't own at the time. I'm glad they decided to say goodbye to cable all those years ago. Chuggaaconroy was the first UA-camr I ever followed, from him all the way to today, he remains my all time favorite. Also I never watched TV again.

I watched this series when I was very young, heck even showed it and your other videos to my childhood friends (looking back that wasn't a good idea cuz of ur humor). I loved this series. I've been replaying Mario Galaxy recently, and was thinking about this series for some time. It's a shame that clickable videos aren't things anymore, cuz that got rid of a lot of the charm. I still love it, though.

Zaid Hilal That part of Emile's explanation isn't quite accurate, though the flow of time would be "slowed" becuase of the extreme gravity of the blackhole you will also be in this are of "slowed time" so while to an observer outside of this "slowed time" will see you being "sucked" into a blackhole as taking an incredibly long time, from your perspective your death will be happening in "normal" time.
What if they made a direct sequel to Mario 64 where you jumped into paintings again. I feel the paintings allowed for more creativity, because the paintings could be anything, while in Sunshine it was island based and galaxy it had to be galaxy based.

Damn I miss those times. I watched this in 2012 I remember watching this on my Ipad and my dad tried to tell me to pause the game even though I was watching a video haha.
